Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on school children especially in their academic performance which may affect their mental health. The study aimed to assess the anxiety level of high school students. A cross sectional electronic study conducted among high school students in Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India. A total of 302 high school students participated in the study. A two sectioned self structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 version software. A chi-square test was used to investigate the level of anxiety among students and ANOVA test used to find the mean difference between groups, with significance set to P<0.05. Among 302 participants, 41.7% (n=126) were male, 58.3% (n=176) were aged 13-17 years. The study indicated that majority 132 (43.7%) of study participants reported that they had Mild anxiety which was followed by 77 (25.5%) no anxiety and 62 (20.5%) moderate anxiety. Factors such as age, gender, family members tested positive or being quarantined were having association with anxiety level. The researcher concluded that the high school children are experiencing a considerable level of anxiety during lock down of COVID-19 pandemic period. There was a strong association of anxiety level of students, if any family members are tested positive for corona virus or any one is being quarantined for the symptoms of corona virus.

Abstract Objectives: The major adverse effect of doxorubicin (DOX) in cancer treatment is cardiac toxicity. Murva is a controversial plant used in the Ayurvedic system, which consist of more than 12 medicinal plant roots found in different parts of India.
Materials and methods: A total of 48 rats were divided into 8 groups with 6 in each group. DOX 20 mg/kg, intraperitoneally (i.p.) was administered to all rats on the 13
Results: The combination that showed the most significant (p<0.001) effect on altered cardiac enzymes and antioxidant enzyme levels in both blood and tissues also corrected the extreme damage in cellular functional units. Dresgenin and lupeol showed binding scores of -8.2 (kcal/mol) and -9 (kcal/mol), respectively, with PPARα. HPTLC reports revealed that 17 and 12 peaks were found at 254 nm for dresgenin and lupeol, respectively.
Conclusion: The study results concluded that the combination of MESR and MEMT and that of MESR and MEMT exerted cardioprotective activity via binding of dresgenin and lupeol to PPARα. The order of efficacy was the extract combination > MESR > MEMT.

Abstract The coronavirus pandemic rapidly sweeps across the world, it is inducing a considerable degree of fear, worry, and concern in the population. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of lockdown during COVID-19 pandemic on psychological wellbeing among healthy working adults. This qualitative, cross-sectional study was conducted in Kanyakumari District, Tamilnadu, the southernmost state of India. A convenient sample of 610 healthy working adults was participated and completed a self-administered questionnaire. The data collection tool contains two sections including baseline information, assessment of psychological wellbeing. Chi-square χ² test was used to test the association between demographic variables and scores of psychological wellbeing. One way ANOVA test was used to compare the mean score between groups. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the frequencies of variables. A significant P value was set at 0.05 at 95% confidence interval. The majority of participants (31.8%) belonged to 41-50 years of age. More than half (56.9%) of participants were females. The study findings revealed that 16.4% were had poor psychological well being, 53.8% were had an average level, 21.3% had a good level and 8.5% were had an excellent level of psychological wellbeing. Additionally, gender, age, monthly income, history of quarantine, tested positive for the Corona Virus had a strong association with Psychological wellbeing. The study results concluded that the lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic had a strong association with the psychological wellbeing of working adults. It also suggested having highly prioritized actions for early recognition of psychological problems, expanding counseling activities by the health authorities to avoid negative outcomes due to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

Abstract COVID-19 pandemic lockdown caused sudden and drastic alteration in the daily routine, which resulted in a psychological burden for the general population. So the study aimed to study the effect of lockdown on mental health and its correlation with physical health among healthy working adults. This qualitative, cross-sectional study was conducted in Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India. A convenient sample of 590 healthy working adults was participated and completed a self-administered questionnaire. A paired t-test was used to compare the mean score of physical and mental health. Pearson correlation test was used to determine the correlation between physical symptoms and mental health. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the frequencies of variables. A significant P value was set at 0.05 at 95% confidence interval. The results showed that more than half (56.6%) of participants were reported that they had good physical health, on the other side more than half (55.1%) of participants reported that they had an average level of mental health during the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. The physical symptoms like headache, sleeping pattern, gas trouble, indigestion, and palpitation were had a correlation with mental health. In conclusion, Covid-19 pandemic had a significant effect on the physical and mental health of the working adult population. Particularly, it affected the mental health of people which eventually had various noticeable effects on physical health also.

Abstract Purpose: The aim of present in vitro studies was performed to examine the antioxidant and anticancer activities of ethanol and aqueous extracts of Drosera indica L.
Methods: Different concentrations (5 - 640mcg/ml) of the ethanol (EEDI) and aqueous (AEDI) extracts of D.indica L were used in various antioxidant assay methods such as hydroxyl radicals, DPPH, super oxide radical scavenging activity, chelating ability of ferrous ion, nitric oxide radical inhibition, ABTS and reducing power. Ascorbic acid (AA) was used as the standard antioxidant for the free radical scavenging assays. Dalton's Ascitic Lymphoma (DAL) and Ehrlich Ascitic Carcinoma (EAC) cell lines were used as the in vitro cancer models for the tryphan blue dye and LDH leakage assays, where 5 to 250mcg /ml of both EEDI and AEDI were tested.
Results: EEDI showed antioxidant activities with the minimum IC50 values of 34.8±0.43 mcg/ml in scavenging of hydroxyl radical and moreover AEDI showed minimum IC50 values of 94.51±0.84 mcg/ml in Fe(2+)chelating assay. EEDI on the reducing power assay and ABTS showed higher IC50 than standard AA. IC50 values of AEDI on Fe(2+) chelating assay and super oxide radical assay was lesser than IC50 value of AA. Both extracts at 250mcg/ml dose showed remarkable increase in the percentage of dead cancer cells (90% by EEDI and 86% by AEDI in DAL model and 89% by EEDI and 80% by AEDI in EAC model).
Conclusion: It is concluded from this study that D.indica L exhibited excellent antioxidant activity against the different in vitro antioxidant models and anticancer activity against the two different cell lines tested.
