Abstract Background: The year 2020 began with a new public health hazard. A novel coronavirus, acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was discovered in Wuhan, China on 12th December 2019. In 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) introduced the name of the disease as ‘COVID-19’. Objective: The morphology, pathogenic mechanisms, causes, transmission, symptoms, diagnosis, therapeutic potential, clinical studies on COVID-19 infection, preventive measures, and mental health care were described in this study. Methods: A literature search was conducted using electronic databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Elsevier, Frontiers, Medline, EMBASE, Web of Science, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. The search was broadly scoped, using key terms such as SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, etc. Results: The genomic characterization of SARS-CoV-2, drugs, and their potential mechanisms used in humans to inhibit the SARS-CoV-2 were tabulated. Moreover, twenty-five clinical researches carried out against COVID-19 infection were also tabulated in this study. Preventive measures such as chemical disinfectants and increasing test capacity were also discussed. Conclusion: The current study provides a snapshot of the overview of the SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19. The findings suggested the effective preventive measures to halt the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and develop a better vaccine. The information from this review study also aids in early preparations for future pandemic outbreaks.

Abstract The purpose of exploring protein interactions between human adenovirus and heat shock protein 70 is to exploit a potentially synergistic interaction to enhance anti-tumoral efficacy and decrease toxicity in cancer treatment. However, the protein interaction of Hsp70 with E1A32 kDa of human adenovirus serotype 5 remains to be elucidated. In this study, two residues of ATPase domain of human heat shock 70 kDa protein 1 (PDB: 1 HJO) were mutated. 3D mutant models (K71L and T204V) using PyMol software were then constructed. The structures were evaluated by PROCHECK, ProQ, ERRAT, Verify 3D and ProSA modules. All evidence suggests that all protein models are acceptable and of good quality. The E1A32 kDa motif was retrieved from UniProt (P03255), as well as subjected to docking interaction with NBD, K71L and T204V, using the Autodock 4.2 program. The best lowest binding energy value of −9.09 kcal/mol was selected for novel T204V. Moreover, the protein-ligand complex structures were validated by RMSD, RMSF, hydrogen bonds and salt bridge analysis. This revealed that the T204V-E1A32 kDa motif complex was the most stable among all three complex structures. This study provides information about the interaction between Hsp70 and the E1A32 kDa motif, which emphasizes future perspectives to design rational drugs and vaccines in cancer therapy.

Abstract Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the infectious diseases and is a major cause of poor health, thus becoming one of the leading causes of death in the world. In 2021 the World Health Organization (WHO) said that, 9.9 million people experienced TB disease worldwide. It is also estimated that every year there are 13,110 cases of people who die from TB disease. The number of TB cases in Indonesia is estimated at 845,000 cases in 2020 with 393,323 TB cases notified. According to data from the Tasikmalaya City Health Office in 2020, there were 1.045 cases of TB sufferers in Tasikmalaya City. TB disease can be cured by taking treatment for 6 months. Adherence to treatment is one way to prevent failure in TB treatment. The daily medicine box is one solution to improve patient compliance with anti-TB treatment. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of daily medication use on adherence to anti-TB medication in TB patients at the Tamansari Public Health Center, Tasikmalaya City. This study uses a quantitative approach with the research method of Pre-Experimental Design, one group with pre-test & post-test. The sample was 16 respondents in this study, Wilcoxon Signed Rank test used in this research. Results: The results showed that the pretest-posttest had an effect of the daily medicine box on adherence to taking anti-TB drugs in TB patients with p-value 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between before and after being given treatment. this study recommended that TB patients apply the daily medicine box as a tool to improve adherence to taking drugs so as to reduce failure in TB treatment.
