Title translation The forestry doctor and the lumber camp people.
Abstract In the beginning of the last century there were many accidents in Norwegian forestry, and doctors in the rural districts made great efforts to improve the work environment. District physician Otto Mejlaender (1865-1944) in Trysil was a pioneer. He was actively involved in educational work, wrote articles about the working conditions in the forests and work accidents. The papers refers to various injuries that occurred during work in the forests and how the layman should attend to them. It describes the poor conditions in the lumber cabins, the long and tiresome working day, and the illnesses these activities caused. A summary is also given of an article written by Mejlaender in the Journal of the Norwegian Medical Association in 1906, in which he presents a somewhat unusual case of a young man who damaged his testicles.

Title translation Andreas Christian Bull (1840-1920) and his survey of poliomyelitis.
Abstract Andreas Christian Bull was a Norwegian district physician who started his medical career in 1867. Contemporary physicians' interests were focused upon the cause of the diseases they encountered. Infectious diseases were dominating. The official opinion was that the cause could be a coincidence, relating to natural phenomena and bad sanitation, though some held the view that epidemic diseases were developing from contagious substances. Bull was an acute observer. In a medical report from 1868, he describes a peculiar epidemic disease diagnosed as meningitis cerebrospinalis acuta. He treated 14 patients, 12 of them children. His report is a comprehensive description of a poliomyelitis epidemic and the different states of the disease. At the time, physicians had no knowledge of an infectious disease localised in the spinal marrow. Bull's report was the first description of a poliomyelitis epidemic in Europe. In 1882 he published a report about trichina poisoning, the first diagnosis of trichinosis in human beings in Norway.

Abstract Marine macroalgae are cultivated for diverse applications, from biofuel and biogas to biofiltering, from food to cosmetics or pharmaceuticals. Since macroalgae cultivation does not compete with land-based food crops for the necessary arable land or fresh water, it can increase the possibilities of sustainably harvested biomass. New technologies permit even land-based growing of marine macroalgae, besides the more common coastal or offshore cultivation. All these technologies, however, raise the question of how to provide ideal cultivation conditions, especially for adherent macroalgae, and of how to harvest them economically and sustainably. While some reports about growing marine macroalgae on diverse textile materials, such as polyester ropes or polypropylene nets, can be found in the literature, we report here for the first time on the growth of a marine macroalga on knitted fabrics. Abstract Background: We compared the efficacy of two neuroleptics with different receptor profiles (zuclopenthixol and haloperidol) in learning disabled patients with behavioural disturbance.
Method: A double-blind crossover study (2 x 8 weeks; n = 34), interrupted by a two-week single-blind washout period, was employed. Assessments included the Schedule for Handicaps, Behaviour, and Skills (SHBS) and Clinical Global Impression (CGI).
Results: The SHBS score was significantly reduced for the zuclopenthixol cohort only. End-point analysis between the two drugs also showed an enhanced effect for zuclopenthixol over haloperidol. CGI scores did not reveal significant differences between the two drugs.
Conclusion: Zuclopenthixol may be superior to haloperidol for the treatment of behavioural disturbances in mentally retarded subjects.

Abstract Searches for the lepton number violating K^{+}→π^{-}μ^{+}e^{+} decay and the lepton flavor violating K^{+}→π^{+}μ^{-}e^{+} and π^{0}→μ^{-}e^{+} decays are reported using data collected by the NA62 experiment at CERN in 2017-2018. No evidence for these decays is found and upper limits of the branching ratios are obtained at 90% confidence level: B(K^{+}→π^{-}μ^{+}e^{+})<4.2×10^{-11}, B(K^{+}→π^{+}μ^{-}e^{+})<6.6×10^{-11} and B(π^{0}→μ^{-}e^{+})<3.2×10^{-10}. These results improve by 1 order of magnitude over previous results for these decay modes.
