    Abstract The development of lymphoma is a complex multistep process that integrates numerous experimental findings and clinical data that have not yet yielded a definitive explanation. Studies of oncogenic viruses can help to deepen insight into the pathogenesis of lymphoma, and identifying associations between lymphoma and viruses that are established and unidentified should lead to cellular and pharmacologically targeted antiviral strategies for treating malignant lymphoma. This review focuses on the pathogenesis of lymphomas associated with hepatitis B and C, Epstein-Barr, and human immunodeficiency viruses as well as Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus

    Abstract Marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) is the second most common subtype of inert B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, accounting for 5-15% of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma cases. Patients with MZL have a long survival period, with a median survival of >10 years, and patients treated with a combination of anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody can achieve an overall effective rate of 81%. However, 20% of patients with MZL show relapse or experience disease progression within 2 years, with a median survival of only 3-5 years. Currently, the treatment options for patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) MZL are limited, underscoring the pressing need for novel therapeutic drugs. The advent of novel anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies, small molecule kinase inhibitors, immunomodulators, and other therapeutic strategies has ushered in a new era in the treatment of R/R MZL. Our objective is to summarize the existing treatment strategies, including immunotherapy and the emergent targeted therapies, and to evaluate their effectiveness and safety in the management of R/R MZL. By doing so, we aim to provide a clear understanding of the therapeutic landscape for R/R MZL, and to guide future research directions toward improving the prognosis and quality of life for patients afflicted with this challenging disease.

    Abstract At present, the treatment of lymphoma has entered the era of precision medicine, and CD30, as a transmembrane protein, has become an important marker to help the diagnosis and formulation of treatment plans for lymphomas. This protein is widely expressed in various types of lymphomas and can play a role through nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), and other pathways, and ultimately lead to the up-regulation of CD30 expression to give tumor cells a survival advantage. Brentuximab vedotin (BV), as an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting CD30, is one of the first new drugs to significantly improve survival in patients with CD30+lymphomas. However, the biological function of CD30 has not been fully elucidated. Therefore, this review highlights the CD30-mediated tumor-promoting mechanisms and the molecular factors that regulate CD30 expression. We hope that a better understanding of CD30 biology will provide new insights into clinical treatment and improve the survival and quality of life of lymphoma patients.

    Abstract With the advancements in therapeutics for non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), the long-term survival of patients with NHL has markedly increased. Second primary malignancies (SPMs) have become an increasingly relevant long-term concern for NHL survivors. The etiology of SPMs is multifactorial and involves multiple steps. Germline alterations, immune dysregulation, and clonal hematopoiesis contribute to the accumulation of intrinsic adverse factors, and external factors such as lifestyle; exposure to infectious factors; and late effects of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, high-dose therapy, and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation further increase SPM risk. Therapy-related myeloid neoplasms (t-MNs) are a devastating complication of cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents. However, as targeted therapies begin to replace cytotoxic chemotherapy, the incidence of t-MNs is likely to decline, particularly for indolent B-cell NHL.

    Abstract Operando decoding of the key parameters of photo-electric catalysis provides reliable information for catalytic effect evaluation and catalytic mechanism exploration. However, to capture the details of surface-localized and rapid chemical and thermal events at the nanoscale in real-time is highly challenging. A promising approach based on a lab-around-microfiber sensor capable of simulating photo-electric catalytic reactions on the surface of optical fibers as well as monitoring reactant concentration changes and catalytic heat generation processes is demonstrated. Due to the penetration depth of submicron size and the fast response ability of the evanescent field, the lab-around-microfiber sensor overcame the difficulty of reading instantaneous surface parameters in the submicron range. This sensor operando dismantled the changes in reactant concentration and temperature on the catalyst surface induced by light and voltage, respectively. It also decoded the impact of catalyst composition on the adsorption efficiency and catalytic efficiency across various wavelengths and determined the synchronized occurrence of pollutant degradation and catalytic thermal effects. Stable correlations between the real-time parameters and catalytic activities are obtained, helping to provide a basic understanding of the catalytic process and mechanism. This approach fills an important gap in the current monitoring methods of catalytic processes and heat production.

    Abstract The ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) is involved in various aspects of cell processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and cell cycle progression. F-box and WD repeat domain-containing protein 7 (FBW7), as a key component of UPS proteins and a critical tumor suppressor in human cancers, controls proteasome-mediated degradation by ubiquitinating oncoproteins such as c-Myc, Mcl-1, cyclin E, and Notch. It also plays a role in the development of various cancers, including solid and hematological malignancies, such as T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.     Abstract Abstract In this study, a virtual-point concept was introduced into fiber-laser photoacoustic tomography to improve the elevational image resolution. The flexible fiber laser was bent into an arc shape to conform to the ultrasound wavefront, which formed an ultrasound focus at the center of the arc. The synthetic aperture focusing technique was utilized to reconstruct the images; as a result, the elevational resolution particularly within the out-of-focus region was considerably improved compared to the resolution of an image retrieved by multiplexing the PA time-resolved signals with sound velocity. The all-optical fiber-laser photoacoustic tomography system with a high spatial resolution has potential for various applications, including biomedical research and preclinical/clinical diagnosis.

    Abstract To investigate the clinical features, survival, and prognostic factors of patients with double primary malignant neoplasms (DPMNs) comprising non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and malignant solid tumors. Of the 2352 patients diagnosed with NHL, 105 (4.46%) patients were diagnosed with DPMNs, 42 (40.0%) had NHL first (the NHL-first group) and 63 (60.0%) had solid tumor first (the ST-first group). Females were more frequent in the ST-first group, and the interval time between the two tumors was longer. More NHLs in early stages and originating from extranodal sites were observed in the NHL-first group. Male, age ≥ 55 years at diagnosis of the first tumor, interval time <60 months, NHL diagnosed first, NHL arising from an extranodal site, DPMNs without breast cancer, and no surgery for the first primary tumor were associated with poorer overall survival (OS). Interval time <60 months and NHL diagnosed first were independent risk factors that affected the prognosis of patients with DPMNs. Therefore, careful monitoring and follow-up are especially important for these patients. 50.5% (53/105) of patients with DPMNs did not receive chemotherapy or radiotherapy prior to the diagnosis of the second tumor. We further compared the baseline characteristics of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL) patients with and without solid tumors, the former had a higher proportion of extranodal DLBCL, suggesting that extranodal DLBCL is more likely to develop solid tumors than nodal DLBCL.

    Abstract Optical fiber acoustic sensors with miniature size and high sensitivity are attractive to develop compact photoacoustic spectroscopy. Here, a compact photoacoustic gas sensor was demonstrated by utilizing a diaphragm-based fiber-optic Fabry-Perot cavity as both the acoustic sensor and the multipass cell. A nanoscale graphite film was used as the flexible diaphragm to increase the acoustic sensitivity of the Fabry-Perot cavity and the cavity inner surface was coated with highly-reflective Au film to form a multipass cell for amplification of the photoacoustic signal.
