    Abstract The variation of occurrence of the Atlantic Hurricanes (AHU) over Atlantic and East Caribbean region and Tropical Cyclones (TC) over Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea during 1979 to 2018 has been studied in this paper. A correlation and regression analysis has also been done between solar activity and the occurrence of Atlantic hurricanes and Tropical cyclones in Indian Ocean. As a proxy of solar activity the 10.7cm solar flux (F10.7) and the Sun spot number (SSN) has been used . In order to find the correlation , we derived a normalised occurrence rate of AHU based on the data of National Hurricane Center-NOAA and National Ocean services –NOAA. Here also we used the data of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) like Bestpara data, Besttrack data and data from Cyclone e-atlas for TC. Using these distribution , we calculate the correlation coefficient which amount 0.646 for f10.7 solar flux and 0.82 for SSN with significance of 83% in the case of TC. On the other hand the correlation coefficient is 0.65 for f10.7 solar flux and 0.82 for SSN with significance of 78% in the case of AHU. In addition we calculate the correlation coefficient of Lyman Alpha flux and Total solar Irradiance (TSI) with the occurrence of AHU and TC in Indian Ocean regions.

    Abstract Two palliative cancer-care models are being pioneered in India. The first has been developed by CanSupport, a cancer-care NGO based in Delhi. The CanSupport model of care emphasizes expertise and focuses on a relatively small number of patients. The second model is the Neighbourhood Network of Palliative Care, advanced by a group of physicians in the southern state of Kerala. The NNPC model emphasizes reach over expertise. It provides short-term training to community workers and civic-minded citizens, mobilizing numbers to treat a wider patient pool. This paper compares the strengths and drawbacks of both models in order to understand the generalizability of each for providing care to lower-income communities in lower- and middle-income countries.

    Abstract Given $X_1,\cdot ,X_N$ random variables whose joint distribution is given as $\mu$ we will use the Martingale Method to show any Lipshitz Function $f$ over these random variables is subgaussian. The Variance parameter however can have a simple expression under certain conditions. For example under the assumption that the random variables follow a Markov Chain and that the function is Lipschitz under a Weighted Hamming Metric. We shall conclude with certain well known techniques from concentration of suprema of random processes with applications in Reinforcement Learning

    Abstract In high-performance RF transceivers the thrust of has been on lower noise LNAs and high-power high-speed PAs. The performance trade-off has forced many solutions to have the LNA and PA on a separate die compared to the rest of baseband. Often fabricated in GaAs or InP, they need to be properly interfaced with the rest of signal chain leading to signal integrity issues. Applications for such technologies range from defence, aerospace to scientific instrumentation. In this paper we propose a device using superconductor-semiconductor-superconductor (SC-Sm-SC) junction with a controllable gate terminal to modulate the tunnelling resistance. This arrangement in a typical resonant-tank LNA or an impedance matching PA would reduce the parasitic capacitances leading to higher frequency operation. Also by virtue of Cooper-pair bosons being the bulk carriers, noise due to carrier-carrier and carrier-lattice scattering will be much lower than its conventional CMOS counterparts. Our calculation shows that it can be used in a LNA with 20dB gain till 36GHz and in a PA to deliver -10dBm power till 350GHz.
