Abstract Depth completion recovers a dense depth map from sensor measurements. Current methods are mostly tailored for very sparse depth measurements from LiDARs in outdoor settings, while for indoor scenes Time-of-Flight (ToF) or structured light sensors are mostly used. These sensors provide semi-dense maps, with dense measurements in some regions and almost empty in others. We propose a new model that takes into account the statistical difference between such regions. Our main contribution is a new decoder modulation branch added to the encoder-decoder architecture. The encoder extracts features from the concatenated RGB image and raw depth. Given the mask of missing values as input, the proposed modulation branch controls the decoding of a dense depth map from these features differently for different regions. This is implemented by modifying the spatial distribution of output signals inside the decoder via Spatially-Adaptive Denormalization (SPADE) blocks. Our second contribution is a novel training strategy that allows us to train on a semi-dense sensor data when the ground truth depth map is not available. Our model achieves the state of the art results on indoor Matterport3D dataset. Being designed for semi-dense input depth, our model is still competitive with LiDAR-oriented approaches on the KITTI dataset. Our training strategy significantly improves prediction quality with no dense ground truth available, as validated on the NYUv2 dataset.

Abstract In this paper, we report on the method of nondestructive quality control that can be used in fabrication of GaAs high-speed electronics. The method relies on the surface potential mapping and enables rigid in vivo analysis of transport properties of an active electronic device incorporated into a complex integrated circuit. The study is inspired by our ongoing development of a millimeter wave intelligent reflective surface for 6G communications. To provide desired beamforming capabilities, such a surface should utilize hundreds of identical microscale GaAs diode switches with series resistance of a few ohms. Thus, we develop a ladder-like layered ohmic contact to heavily Si-doped GaAs and cross-study it via transmission line method and Kelvin probe force microscopy. The contact resistivity as low as 0.15~$\mu \Omega \,$cm$^2$ is measured resulting in only a 0.6~$\Omega$ of resistance for the contact area of 3$\times$3~$\mu$m$^2$. Moreover, the tendencies observed suggest that one can rigidly analyze the evolution of contact resistance and the profile of resistivity under contact in response to rapid thermal annealing, once the surface potential map across the ``ladder'' is known.

Abstract Data on postmortem examination of five patients deceased during Legionnaires' outbreak in town Verkhnyaya Pyshma are presented in the article. Feature of course of the disease was severe affection of the lungs with development of toxic shock. Pathomorphological picture in lungs was characterized by polymorphism, presence of shock reaction and ventilator-associated pneumonia (atelectases, distelectases, tracheobronchitis). In autopsy material from four fatal cases Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 was detected. Causative agent of pneumonia was not determined in one fatal case although comparison of clinical and morphological characteristics of this case with other four cases as well as detection of Gram-negative bacillus in alveolar macrophages allowed to consider this case of pneumonia as caused by Legionella. In studied fatal cases postmortem diagnoses were ascertained in which main disease was bilateral pneumonia caused by Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 complicated by toxic shock.

Abstract With the purpose of study of features of psychical and somatic prosperity of employees of organs of internal affairs of Chechen Republic the inspection of 64 employees was conducted. It is set that a posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSR) was exposed for 3% inspected employees-contracters. The separate symptoms of PTSR were observed for 2/5 contracters and at 1/4 workings on permanent basis. Complaints about somatic disfunctions were present at more than 1/2 employees, dischargings official duties by contract, and 2/5--workings on permanent basis. Presence of intercommunications of complaints with the subscales of questionnaire of traumatic stress, specifies on psychosomatic nature of violations of somatic health because of finding in extreme battle conditions.

Abstract In TROICA (TRanscontinental Observations Into the Chemistry of the Atmosphere) campaigns (1999–2008), the simultaneous observations of near surface 222 Rn concentrations and atmospheric boundary layer thermal structure were performed along the Trans-Siberian Railway across northern Eurasia from Moscow to Vladivostok, including central, southern and far eastern parts of Russia. The data on 222 Rn and temperature vertical distribution are used to estimate 222 Rn regional scale soil fluxes based on calculations of nocturnal 222 Rn accumulation rates in the surface layer under inversion conditions. An effect of seasonal soil thawing on 2–4 times surface 222 Rn concentration increase from summer 1999 to autumn 2005 is observed. The estimated 222 Rn regional averaged fluxes vary over Russia from 29 ± 8 mBq m −2 s −1 in its so-called European territory to 95 ± 51 mBq m −2 s −1 in the southern area of Siberia. The highest 222 Rn fluxes are derived in the regions of high tectonic activity and orogenic belts of central and eastern Siberia and in far eastern Russia. The observed high 222 Rn flux variations in specific events show a strong effect of both soil and atmospheric conditions on 222 Rn near-surface abundance and the derived seasonal patterns over the continent.
