Abstract Two new oleanane-type triterpene glycosides, 3˗O˗β˗D˗glucopyranosyl˗28˗O˗ [β˗D˗glucopyranosyl˗(1→2)˗β˗D˗xylopyranosyl˗(1→6)˗β˗D˗glucopyranosyl]medicagenic acid (1) and 3˗O˗β˗D˗glucopyranosyl˗28˗O˗[β˗D˗glucopyranosyl˗(1→6)˗β˗D˗glucopyranosyl˗(1→2)˗ β˗D˗xylopyranosyl]oleanolic acid (2), named capitatosides A and B respectively, were isolated from the butanol extract of Paronychia capitata (L.) Lam., along with seven known compounds. The structures of the isolated compounds were established by spectroscopic methods, mainly HRMS, 1D and 2D NMR (¹H, ¹³C, COSY, HSQC, HMBC and NOESY) techniques, whereas those of the known compounds were identified by spectral comparison with reported literature data.

Abstract: Phytochemical research of the whole plant Atractylis humilis (Asteraceae family) led to the isolation of one cyclolignan, namely (8R,7′S,8′S)-9′-β-D-glucopyranosyl-3,4′,9-trihydroxy-3′,4,5,5′-tetramethoxy-2,7′-cyclolignan (1), together with thirteen ... ...

Abstract Phytochemical research of the whole plant Atractylis humilis (Asteraceae family) led to the isolation of one cyclolignan, namely (8R,7′S,8′S)-9′-β-D-glucopyranosyl-3,4′,9-trihydroxy-3′,4,5,5′-tetramethoxy-2,7′-cyclolignan (1), together with thirteen known phytochemicals 2–14 from the ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts. The structures of all isolated secondary metabolites 1–14 were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis (1D and 2D-NMR, HR-ESI-MS) and measurement of optical rotation [α]D, whereas the known compounds were described by spectral comparison data with those published in the literature. This is the first report of lignans in the genus Atractylis. Furthermore, the chemotaxonomic significance of isolates was discussed.

Abstract In this study, the various extracts of aerial parts of Helianthemum sessiliflorum Pers. were examined in vitro for possible source of antioxidants and for antibacterial activity. The antioxidant activity was performed by DPPH radical scavenging method which showed that ethyl acetate extract possessed the best antioxidant potential (IC ₅₀ = 32.75 ± 2.07 μg/mL). The significant linear correlation was realised between the values of the total phenolic/flavonoid content and antioxidant activity of plant extracts. The ethyl acetate and n -butanol extracts showed moderate antibacterial activity. In addition, the phytochemical study of n -butanol extract afforded nine known phenolic compounds (1 – 9). This is the first report of six of them (1 , 3 , 5 – 8) in Cistaceae family. The structural identification of the isolated compounds was achieved using several spectroscopic methods.
