    Abstract Determinant quantum Monte Carlo (DQMC) is a powerful numerical technique to study many-body fermionic systems. In recent years, several classes of sign-free (SF) models have been discovered, where the notorious sign problem can be circumvented. However, it is not clear what the inherent physical characteristics and limitations of SF models are. In particular, which zero-temperature quantum phases of matter are accessible within such models, and which are fundamentally inaccessible? Here, we show that a model belonging to any of the known SF classes within DQMC cannot have a stable Fermi-liquid ground state in spatial dimension d≥2, unless the antiunitary symmetry that prevents the sign problem is spontaneously broken (for which there are currently no known examples in SF models). For SF models belonging to one of the symmetry classes (where the absence of the sign problem follows from a combination of nonunitary symmetries of the fermionic action), any putative Fermi liquid fixed point generically includes an attractive Cooper-like interaction that destabilizes it. In the recently discovered lower-symmetry classes of SF models, the Fermi surface (FS) is generically unstable even at the level of the quadratic action. Our results suggest a fundamental link between Fermi liquids and the fermion sign problem. Interestingly, our results do not rule out a non-Fermi-liquid ground state with a FS in a sign-free model.

    Abstract Aim: The aim of this study was to review empirical articles to explore the meaning and the application of student-centered learning in nursing education.
    Background: Teachers in higher education are encouraged to adopt student-centered learning principles, but research shows that many still apply teacher-centered methods. There is therefore a need to clarify the meaning of student-centered learning, including how it is performed and the reasons to apply it in nursing education.
    Design: This study employed an integrative review method, following Whittemore and Knafl's framework.
    Methods: The databases CINAHL, Education Database and Education Research Complete were searched for related literature published from 2010 to 2020. The initial search located 308 articles. After screening and checking for eligibility, 25 articles were critically appraised. Data were extracted from the articles and displayed in matrices to be categorized and compared.
    Results: Three themes with attendant sub-themes emerged through the analysis: foundation, using core concepts to define and explain student-centered learning, eligibility, enhancing student knowledge, developing student abilities and supporting student self-reliance and realization, learning in interaction with peers, learning individually and learning in interaction with the teacher.
    Conclusion: Student-centered learning in nursing education is an approach where the teacher is a facilitator of student learning and students are empowered to take control of their own studies. Students study together in groups; they are listened to by the teacher and their needs are taken into consideration. The main reasons to apply student-centered learning are to enhance students' theoretical and practical learning; to improve their generic competencies, such as problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities; and to strengthen students' self-reliance.

    Abstract In this work we investigate the ground state of a momentum-confined interacting 2D electron gas, a momentum-space analog of an infinite quantum well. The study is performed by combining analytical results with a numerical exact diagonalization procedure. We find a ferromagnetic ground state near a particular electron density and for a range of effective electron (or hole) masses. We argue that this observation may be relevant to the generalized Stoner ferromagnetism recently observed in multilayer graphene systems. The collective magnon excitations exhibit a linear dispersion, which originates from a diverging spin stiffness.

    Abstract ger: Das Auslaufen der Garantiemengenregulierung setzt den Milchmarkt und insbesondere die milchviehhaltenden Betriebe unter einen enormen wirtschaftlichen Anpassungsdruck. Daraus ergibt sich für die landwirtschaftliche Betriebsberatung eine steigende Verantwortung. Das Projekt zeigt mit Hilfe der Effizienzanalyse, als moderne Methode der wissenschaftlichen Forschung, eine Ergänzung des bestehenden Beratungsinstrumentariums auf. Infolgedessen besteht das Ziel des Projektes darin, anhand einer empirisch durchgeführten Effizienzanalyse, ein Konzept zur Messung der Effizienz milchviehhaltender Betriebe aufzuzeigen. Darüber hinaus werden die Stärken bzw. Schwächen der effizienten Betriebe herausgestellt. Aus der Effizienzanalyse sollen zudem Informationen über zusätzliche Einsparpotenziale der Produktionsfaktoren gewonnen werden. Abschließend findet die Identifikation effizienzbeeinflussender Faktoren statt. Es erfolgt zunächst eine Einführung in die aktuelle (markt-) politische Situation auf europäischer und deutschlandweiter Ebene. Die steigenden Preisvolatilitäten sowohl auf den Faktor- als auch Absatzmärkten lassen parallel zum Auslaufen der Milchquote eine zusätzliche Dynamik im Milchmarkt erwarten. Ferner wird konstatiert, dass ein deutlicher Anstieg der Milchkuhbestände, sowohl in Deutschland als auch Nordrhein-Westfalen zu verzeichnen ist. Demnach kann bereits vor dem Auslaufen der Milchquote auf eine vorzeitige Expansionsstrategie vieler Milcherzeuger geschlossen werden. Die Einführung schließt mit einem Einblick in die aktuelle Beratungsmethodik der landwirtschaftlichen Betriebsberatung. Im weiteren Verlauf der Arbeit wird die Effizienzanalyse als Erweiterung des Beratungsinstrumentariums vorgestellt. In der wissenschaftlichen Literatur finden insbesondere die Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) und die Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) zur Effizienzmessung Anwendung. Die DEA ...
