Abstract | Fifteen maleic acid derivatives and two commercial wool protective agents were applied in the dyeing of wool at 120°C without dyestuff. The dimensional properties of the fabric were evaluated in terms of dyeing shrinkage, hygral expansion and fabric thickness. The results show that there is a good relativity among hygral expansion, dyeing shrinkage, and thickness. These chemicals were also found to provide beneficial effects on reducing dyeing shrinkage and limiting the amount of hygral expansion introduced during dyeing. |
