Abstract Data from dental intraoral radiography quality controls was gathered from 1201 units (22% of the licensed X-ray units existing in Portugal), using film and digital image systems, between 2016 and 2018. The median incident air KERMA for standard superior molar tooth was evaluated in 0.9 mGy with the value of 1.3 mGy as the upper quartile. Comparisons with a 1990 published survey from dental exposures in Portugal were made. A 85% reduction for incident air KERMA per exposure was observed (6.0 mGy for the 1990 survey), which can be attributed to technical advances in the X-ray image receptors, as well as the implementation of legal requirements for technical acceptability of radiological units. It was also observed an increase of X-ray exams, which is related to an increase of dental practitioners, available radiological equipment and the level of dental healthcare.

Abstract Background: Ultra-processed foods (UPF) are becoming extensively available in the food environments. UPF are industrial formulations that are designed to maximize palatability and consumption through a combination of calorie-dense ingredients and chemical additives. UPFs are also aggressively marketed, which may make them more attractive than unprocessed/minimally processed foods (UMPF). Since consumers' purchase decisions are guided by food-evoked emotions, we aimed to provide evidence that UPF visual cues trigger higher emotional responses and approach motivation than UMPF visual cues, with potential impacts on individuals' intention to consume the UPF over the UMPF.
    Methods: Participants (
Results: Pictures of UPF and UMPF were positioned in the upper arm of the boomerang-shaped affective space that represents approach motivation. Pictures containing UPF triggered higher approach motivation and intention to consume than pictures containing UMPF. We also found a stronger association between emotional responses and intention to consume UPF relative to UMPF.
Conclusion: These results shed new light on the role of ultra-processed foods evoked emotions that contribute to less healthy and sustainable food environments.

Abstract X-ray fluoroscopy is essential in both diagnosis and medical intervention, although it may contribute to significant radiation doses to patients that have to be optimised and justified. Therefore, it is crucial to the patient to be exposed to the lowest achievable dose without compromising the image quality. The purpose of this study was to perform an analysis of the quality control measurements, particularly dose rates, contrast and spatial resolution of Portuguese fluoroscopy equipment and also to provide a contribution to the establishment of reference levels for the equipment performance parameters. Measurements carried out between 2007 and 2013 on 143 fluoroscopy equipment distributed by 34 nationwide health units were analysed. The measurements suggest that image quality and dose rates of Portuguese equipment are congruent with other studies, and in general, they are as per the Portuguese law. However, there is still a possibility of improvements intending optimisation at a national level.

Abstract The control of the properties of materials at the molecular level is pursued for many applications, especially those associated with nanostructures. In this paper, we show that the coordination compound [Ni(dmit)2], where (dmit) is the 1,3-dithiole-2-thione-4,5-dithiolate ligand, can induce doping of poly(2-methoxyaniline) (POMA) in molecularly ordered Langmuir and Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films. Doping was associated with interactions between the components and the compression of the Langmuir film at the air–water interface, according to polarization-modulated infrared reflection-absorption spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS) data. Taking these results together with in situ UV-Vis absorption measurements, we could identify the molecular groups involved in the interaction, including the way they were reoriented upon film compression. The Langmuir films were sufficiently stable to be transferred as Y-type LB films, while the hybrid POMA/[Ni(dmit)2] films remain doped in the solid state. As expected, the molecular charges affected the film morphology, as observed from combined atomic and electric force microscopy measurements. In summary, with adequate spectroscopy and microscopy tools we characterized molecular-level interactions, which may allow one to design molecular electronic devices with controlled electrical properties.

Predominaram as espécies, no abomaso: Haemonchus contortus (100%); Trichostrongylus axei (98,7%); Trichostrongylus colubriformis (1,3%); Teladorsagia circumcincta (100%); Ostertagia ostertagi (100%). No intestino delgado: Trichostrongylus colubriformis (100%); Cooperia punctata (69,1%); Cooperia pectinata (18,4%); Cooperia curticei (6,9%); Cooperia oncophora (4,8%); Cooperia spatulata (0,8%) e Nematodirus spathiger (100%). No intestino grosso: Oesophagostomum venulosum (100%) e Trichuris ovis (100%).
