Abstract We present the analysis of the topological graph descriptor Local Degree Profile (LDP), which forms a widely used structural baseline for graph classification. Our study focuses on model evaluation in the context of the recently developed fair evaluation framework, which defines rigorous routines for model selection and evaluation for graph classification, ensuring reproducibility and comparability of the results. Based on the obtained insights, we propose a new baseline algorithm called Local Topological Profile (LTP), which extends LDP by using additional centrality measures and local vertex descriptors. The new approach provides the results outperforming or very close to the latest GNNs for all datasets used. Specifically, state-of-the-art results were obtained for 4 out of 9 benchmark datasets. We also consider computational aspects of LDP-based feature extraction and model construction to propose practical improvements affecting execution speed and scalability. This allows for handling modern, large datasets and extends the portfolio of benchmarks used in graph representation learning. As the outcome of our work, we obtained LTP as a simple to understand, fast and scalable, still robust baseline, capable of outcompeting modern graph classification models such as Graph Isomorphism Network (GIN). We provide open-source implementation at \href{https://github.com/j-adamczyk/LTP}{GitHub}.

Abstract Background: Moderate to severe AD can be successfully managed by systemic treatments. Current guidelines also recommend emollients or emollients 'plus' and eudermic cleansers for all AD patients to improve the skin barrier and provide anti-irritant and anti-pruritic effects.
Objectives: To investigate the efficacy of skin care (in addition to systemic treatment) with an Emollient 'plus' balm designed to improve the skin barrier and skin microbiome plus a corresponding syndet compared to usual commercial emollients and cleansers.
Methods: In a randomized controlled multicenter study, patients with moderate to severe AD (Severity scoring of atopic dermatitis [SCORAD] score ≥ 40) receiving systemic treatment (cyclosporin A, dupilumab or a Janus kinase inhibitor) were randomized 1:1 to apply twice daily for 10 weeks Emollient 'plus' after pre-cleaning with the syndet (Emollient 'plus' group) or to continue with their usual emollient and cleanser (Control group). Assessments included SCORAD, pruritus on a Visual Analog Scale, Dermatology quality of life questionnaire (DLQI), efficacy and tolerance questionnaires.
Results: Included were 57 patients with mean age of 38 years (range 19-70 years). The mean amount of emollient used after 10 weeks was 447.3 g (range 29-1099 g) and 613.2 g (range 97-2565 g) for the Emollient 'plus' versus the Control, respectively (p = 0.0277). After 10 weeks, subjects in the Emollient 'plus' had a significantly greater reduction in current pruritus (p = 0.0277) and a greater reduction in some DLQI items compared to the Control group.
Conclusions: In patients with moderate to severe AD receiving systemic treatment, the Emollient 'plus' regimen significantly improved pruritus and quality of life items compared to the control, while using 23% less product over a 10-week period. These results stress the importance of daily use of emollients, especially emollients 'plus' to improve signs, symptoms and quality of life in patients with AD.

Abstract We propose the new models of meme spreading over social network constructed from Twitter mention relations. Our models combine two groups of diffusion factors relevant for complex contagions: network structure and social constraints. In particular, we study the effect of perceptive limitations caused by information overexposure. This effect was not yet measured in the classical models of community-aware meme spreading. Limiting our study to hashtags acting as specific, concise memes, we propose different ways of reflecting information overexposure: by limited hashtag usage or global/local increase of hashtag generation probability. Based on simulations of meme spreading, we provide quantitative comparison of our models with three other models known from literature, and additionally, with the ground truth, constructed from hashtag popularity data retrieved from Twitter. The dynamics of hashtag propagation is analyzed using frequency charts of adoption dominance and usage dominance measures. We conclude that our models are closer to real-world dynamics of hashtags for a hashtag occurrence range up to [Formula: see text].
