    Abstract Honey bees are important for ecological health, biodiversity preservation, and crop output. Antimicrobials, like Tetracyclines, are commonly used in agriculture, medicine, and beekeeping, bees might be exposed to Tetracycline residues in the environment either directly or indirectly. This study aimed to determine the effect of antibiotic treatment (Tetracycline) effect on the Bio-efficiency of the larvae honey bee (Apis mellifera jemenatica), when larvae honeybee workers were exposed to different concentrations of it, to see how long they survived after being exposed to it and affected this antibiotic to the histological structure of the midgut. The results demonstrated that the concentration (LC50 = 125.25 μg/ml) of antibiotics Tetracycline leads to kills half of the individuals. Our data indicate that the high concentrations of Tetracycline have a significant effect on the histological composition of the cells of the midgut of honeybee larvae. Antibiotic exposure can negatively impact the health of honey bees, especially Tetracycline because it is the most used antibiotic in apiculture.

    Abstract Main conclusion: The review describes tissue-specific and non-cell autonomous molecular responses regulating the root system architecture and function in plants. Phenotypic plasticity of roots relies on specific molecular and tissue specific responses towards local and microscale heterogeneity in edaphic factors. Unlike gravitropism, hydrotropism in Arabidopsis is regulated by MIZU KUSSIE1 (MIZ1)-dependent asymmetric distribution of cytokinin and activation of Arabidopsis response regulators, ARR16 and ARR17 on the lower water potential side of the root leading to higher cell division and root bending. The cortex specific role of Abscisic acid (ABA)-activated SNF1-related protein kinase 2.2 (SnRK2.2) and MIZ1 in elongation zone is emerging for hydrotropic curvature. Halotropism involves clathrin-mediated internalization of PIN FORMED 2 (PIN2) proteins at the side facing higher salt concentration in the root tip, and ABA-activated SnRK2.6 mediated phosphorylation of cortical microtubule-associated protein Spiral2-like (SP2L) in the root transition zone, which results in anisotropic cell expansion and root bending away from higher salt. In hydropatterning, Indole-3-acetic acid 3 (IAA3) interacts with SUMOylated-ARF7 (Auxin response factor 7) and prevents expression of Lateral organ boundaries-domain 16 (LBD16) in air-side of the root, while on wet side of the root, IAA3 cannot repress the non-SUMOylated-ARF7 thereby leading to LBD16 expression and lateral root development. In root vasculature, ABA induces expression of microRNA165/microRNA166 in endodermis, which moves into the stele to target class III Homeodomain leucine zipper protein (HD-ZIP III) mRNA in non-cell autonomous manner. The bidirectional gradient of microRNA165/6 and HD-ZIP III mRNA regulates xylem patterning under stress. Understanding the tissue specific molecular mechanisms regulating the root responses under heterogeneous and stress environments will help in designing climate-resilient crops.

    Abstract BREVIS RADIX (BRX) is a small plant-specific and evolutionary conserved gene family with divergent yet partially redundant biological functions including root and shoot growth, stomatal development and tiller angle in plants. We characterized a BRX family gene from wheat (Triticum aestivum) by gain-of-function in Arabidopsis. Overexpression of TaBRXL2A resulted in longer primary roots with increased root meristem size and higher root growth under control and exogenous hormone treatments as compared to wild type (Col-0) plants. Overexpression lines also exhibited significant differences with the wild type such as increased rosette size, higher leaf number and leaf size. At reproductive stage, overexpression lines exhibited wider siliques and higher grain weight per plant. Under drought stress, overexpression lines exhibited enhanced drought tolerance in terms of higher chlorophyll retention and lower oxidative stress, thereby leading to significant recovery from drought stress. The analysis suggests that the inherent lower stomatal density in the leaves of overexpression lines and higher stomatal closure in response to ABA might contribute to lower water loss from the overexpression lines. Furthermore, TaBRXL2A protein showed membrane localization, presence of conserved residues at N-terminal for palmitoylation, and phosphosites in the linker region which are prescribed for its potential role in protophloem differentiation and stomatal lineage. Thus, we identified a TaBRX family gene which is involved in developmental pathways essential for plant growth, and also enhances drought tolerance in Arabidopsis.

    Abstract Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the maxillary width within individuals with a unilaterally impacted maxillary canine and to determine any association between the impacted canine location and some canine-related variables.
    Methods: A cross-sectional analytical study using a split-mouth design included 22 CBCTs of individuals with unilaterally impacted maxillary canines (a total of 44 sides). The maxillary width was measured and compared in both impacted and non-impacted sides at various levels: basal, alveolar, and dental. The following canine-related variables were analyzed and compared with impaction location: impacted canine angulation, cusp tip distance from the occlusal plane, type of impaction (vertical or horizontal), presence of root resorption, deciduous teeth, or adjacent teeth transposition.     Results: There was a significant reduction in maxillary width on the impacted side at the following levels: maxillary first premolar alveolar crest in both coronal and axial sections, dental width measured from the central fossa of maxillary first molar to the midline, and width measured from the canine cusp tip to the midline. Moreover, the distance from the palatally impacted canine cusp tip to the occlusal plane was statistically significantly lower (7.6 ± 1.5 mm) compared to buccal (10.8 ± 3.3 mm) and mid-alveolus (12.0 ± 3.9 mm) impaction, (
    Conclusions: There was a significant association between canine impaction and reduction in the maxillary width at least on the dental level. The palatally impacted canine cusp tip was significantly closer to the occlusal plane compared to the buccal and mid-alveolar impaction.

    Abstract Congenital complete heart block (CCHB) is a rare, but a potentially life-threatening manifestation of autoimmune diseases in neonates. Bradycardia in CCHB can be misdiagnosed as foetal distress in utero and thus precipitating a Caesarean section. We report a case series of three neonates with bradycardia without any electrolyte abnormalities and structurally normal hearts with favourable outcomes.

    Abstract Background Challenging perineal defects resulting from extralevator (ELAPE) and standard abdominoperineal excision (APE) have given rise to an emerging multidisciplinary approach between colorectal and plastic surgeons. At present, there is a relative paucity of evidence on best practice. This study sought to assess current national practice concerning perineal reconstruction following APE/ELAPE in the United Kingdom (UK) and to determine the factors involved in reconstruction choice. Methodology An anonymised survey was circulated to consultant plastic surgeons at all 48 UK centres performing perineal reconstruction following APE/ELAPE. Responses were collected between October 2021 and April 2022. Results Complete responses were received from 24 units nationally. All units had a dedicated APE/ELAPE service. Overall, 70% adopted a standardised reconstructive approach, the most common being the inferior gluteal artery perforator flap (n = 11). Significant variation was identified in the reconstructive technique. Similar differences were observed in the perceived importance of surgical factors guiding the reconstructive decision-making process, the top priorities being the size of the defect and previous radiotherapy. Conclusions The variability of responses suggests a lack of national consensus on optimal reconstruction following APE/ELAPE, despite the majority of centres employing a standardised approach to reconstruction. Our study highlights important surgical decision-making factors and provides valuable insight to aid in developing national collaborative evidence-based guidelines on best practice.

    Abstract Background: Practical knowledge and skills of microscopy has classically been delivered for medical students using conventional microscopes (CMs). Using virtual microscopy (VM) in teaching practical histology was established during distance learning for Taif medical students during COVID 19 pandemic period. However, the suitable assessment methods for student performance during distance learning are still debatable. We focused on how to ensure the learner's achievement of course practical outcomes and learning domain.
    Aims and objectives: This study aimed to ascertain whether using VM to evaluate student learning in practical Histology during distance education programs and if moving to VM affecting students' scores.
    Materials and methods: For the first time, we used VM during online objective structural practical examination (OSPE) of 3
    Results: The average student score was 4.63 ± 0.51 with no significant difference from previous student's scores. The net students' feedback was positive. Their average satisfaction on all items ranged from 3.7 to 4.25 on Likert scale. Students recorded the easy image access at any time and place with VM as the most distinctive feature.
    Conclusion: Our results indicated that VM is not only an effective method in teaching histology but also it is an assessment method for measuring student performance during online assessment.
