Abstract Idea management is a crucial pillar of corporate management. Organizations may save research expenses, influence future development, and maintain distinctive competency by controlling front-end ideas. To date, several idea management tools have been developed. However, it is unknown to what extent they support the idea management process. Therefore, this scoping review aims to understand the classification of idea management tools and their effectiveness through an overview of the academic literature. Electronic databases (Scopus, ACM Digital Library, Web of Science Core Index, Elsevier ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink) were searched, and a total of 38 journal papers ( n = 38) from 2010 to 2020 were retrieved. We identified 30 different types of idea management tools categorized as digital tools ( n = 21), guidelines ( n = 5), and frameworks ( n = 4), and these tools have been utilized by software designers, hardware designers, and stakeholders. The identified tools may support various stages of idea management, such as capturing, generating, implementing, monitoring, refinement, retrieving, selection, and sharing. However, most tools only support a single stage (either capture or generate), and they cannot track the life cycle of the ideas, which may lead to misunderstanding. Therefore, it is essential to develop tools for managing ideas that would allow end users, designers, and other stakeholders to minimize bias in selecting and prioritizing ideas.

Abstract For a spaceborne pencil-beam rotating Doppler scatterometer, its precision in measuring the ocean surface motion depends on the Doppler centroid of the received signals. The Doppler centroid is determined by the relative motion between the scatterometer and the ocean surface. This relative motion includes contributions from satellite velocity, the phase velocity of resonant Bragg waves, the orbital motions of ocean waves, and the ocean surface current. Subtracting the contribution of the satellite platform velocity from the complex Doppler information is important for the application of a spaceborne Doppler scatterometer in ocean surface current retrieval. In this research, we propose a method for the platform velocity correction influenced by the Doppler centroid offset and analyze the accuracy of this correction method. The method is based on the echoed signal model of a Doppler scatterometer. Our results show that the offset could lead to a measurement offset of up to 0.02 m/s when the beam width was 0.3°. For a 0.6° beam width, the maximum offset was 0.07 m/s. Thus, with the high accuracy of the current spaceborne sensors’ measurement, the offset can be accurately eliminated. In future applications and data processing algorithms, this effect should be considered.

Abstract Multi-metric indicators based on fish assemblages have been widely applied to assess aquatic ecosystem biotic integrity. However, many of these were not detailed or standardized in metrics selection and reference status for a reservoir ecosystem under the long-term effects of hydro-electrical dam development. This makes it very difficult to determine the reference status and metrics because fish assemblages have been affected by human activities such as large reservoir operations. Based on long-term fish assemblage data, there were significant differences in fish composition between backwater and reservoir areas 10 years after the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) formation in China. We conducted this study to develop a new fish index of biotic integrity (IBI) to evaluate a large river reservoir ecosystem based on long-term monitoring data by establishing subregional habitat reference and selecting sensitive and concise metrics. In the Three Gorges Reservoir, we found that: 1) dynamic change is an important feature of fish assemblages in a relatively dynamic state after a decade of intensive disturbance caused by reservoir operations; 2) reference conditions for the reservoir evaluation should be selected in different stages for two different ecological habitats (lotic backwater and lentic reservoir reaches); 3) two core metrics and five sensitive metrics were selected to reflect fish assemblage degradation based on long term observations; and 4) overall fish biological integrity is generally “fair-poor,” in the reservoir area it is “fair” and “poor,” and in the reservoir lotic backwater it is “fair.” The long-term effects of large canyon reservoirs on biological integrity require long-term observation, and reasonable recovery targets should be set at different stages in reservoir management. In this study, a new biological integrity index was developed to screen and evaluate the ecological status of a semi-artificial reservoir ecosystem. Our results support reservoir biologically integrated management and green ...

Abstract Image fusion is the process of combining multiple input images from single or multiple imaging modalities into a fused image, which is expected to be more informative for human or machine perception as compared to any of the input images. In this paper, we propose a novel method based on deep learning for fusing infrared images and visible images, named the local binary pattern (LBP)-based proportional input generative adversarial network (LPGAN). In the image fusion task, the preservation of structural similarity and image gradient information is contradictory, and it is difficult for both to achieve good performance at the same time. To solve this problem, we innovatively introduce LBP into GANs, enabling the network to have stronger texture feature extraction and utilization capabilities, as well as anti-interference capabilities. In the feature extraction stage, we introduce a pseudo-Siamese network for the generator to extract the detailed features and the contrast features. At the same time, considering the characteristic distribution of different modal images, we propose a 1:4 scale input mode. Extensive experiments on the publicly available TNO dataset and CVC14 dataset show that the proposed method achieves the state-of-the-art performance. We also test the universality of LPGAN by fusing RGB and infrared images on the RoadScene dataset and medical images. In addition, LPGAN is applied to multi-spectral remote sensing image fusion. Both qualitative and quantitative experiments demonstrate that our LPGAN can not only achieve good structural similarity, but also retain richly detailed information.

Abstract PurposeLung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a common type of lung cancer. Cancer in a small number of patients with EGFR mutations will transform from LUAD to small cell lung cancer (SCLC) during epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) therapiesr. The purpose of the present study was to identify the core genes related to the transformation of LUAD into SCLC and to explore the associated molecular mechanisms.MethodsGSE29016, GSE1037, GSE6044 and GSE40275 mRNA microarray datasets from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) were analyzed to obtain differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between LUAD and SCLC tissues, and the results were used for network analysis of protein–protein interactions (PPIs). After identifying the hub gene by STRING and Cytoscape platform, we explored the relationship between hub genes and the occurrence and development of SCLC. Finally, the obtained hub genes were validated in treated LUAD cells.ResultsA total of 41 DEGs were obtained, four hub genes (EZH2, NUSAP1, TTK and UBE2C) were identified, and related prognostic information was obtained. The coexpressed genes of the hub gene set were further screened, and the analysis identified many genes related to the cell cycle. Subsequently, LUAD cell models with TP53 and RB1 inactivation and overexpression of ASCL1 were constructed, and then the expression of hub genes was detected, the results showed that the four hub genes were all elevated in the established cell model.ConclusionEZH2, NUSAP1, TTK and UBE2C may affect the transformation of LUAD to SCLC and represent new candidate molecular markers for the occurrence and development of SCLC.

Abstract Abstract The frequent switching of pump mode and turbine mode of the pump turbine leads to frequent transient phenomena. To ensure the safe and stable operation of the unit, a detailed study on the exhaust and pressurization process when the unit switches from turbine mode to the pump mode has been carried out. Based on the Shear Stress Transfer model (SST) k–ω turbulent model, the numerical simulations are processed both in a steady and unsteady state. The visualization results of gas–liquid two phases distribution in the dynamic process of exhaust and pressurization are given, and the characteristic references of each stage are also carried out. The transient characteristics of the torque, axial, and radial force of the runner and guide vane are analyzed by combining the short‐time Fourier transform. The results show that the main frequencies in this transient process are the blade passing frequency and its harmonic frequency. This process also presents a high amplitude band at all frequency values, which may be caused by the entrainment and centrifugal action of the runner on the free liquid surface.

Abstract Photopolymerization has attracted great interest because of its mild reaction conditions, spatiotemporal controllability, cost efficiency, and fast speed. However, with the raising environmental awareness and the increasing attention to life and health, the leachability of photoinitiators has become a growing concern. In this research, a methacrylate functionalized triazine-based polymerizable visible light photoinitiator, 2-(((4-(2-(4,6-bis(trichloromethyl)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)vinyl)phenoxy)carbonyl)amino)ethyl methacrylate (CT) and its reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerized CT (pCT) were designed as the polymerizable and polymeric photoinitiators, respectively. The photoinitiation abilities of the investigated triazine derivatives were evaluated under violet LEDs. Due to the steric effect, pCT showed slightly reduced photoinitiation ability under both LED at 400 nm and 410 nm irradiation. Nevertheless, photopolymers initiated using CT and pCT showed excellent migration stability compared to those prepared by 2-(4-methoxystyryl)-4,6-bis(trichloromethyl)-1,3,5-triazine (MT) and 4-(2-(4,6-bis(trichloromethyl)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)vinyl)phenol (PT). Specifically, CT and pCT-based polymers prepared under the irradiation of LED at 400 nm exhibited only 1/3-fold and 1/14-fold of photoinitiators leachability, while 1/2-fold and 1/6-fold of photoinitiator leachability were obtained compared to the MT-based photocured polymers when using LED at 410 nm. The excellent migration stability of pCT reveals potential applications in the biomedical and food packaging fields.

Abstract Objectives: To predict the number of people with diabetes and estimate the economic burden in China. Methods: Data from natural logarithmic transformation of the number of people with diabetes in China from 2000 to 2018 were selected to fit the autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model, and 2019 data were used to test it. The bottom-up and human capital approaches were chosen to estimate the direct and indirect economic burden of diabetes respectively. Results: The number of people with diabetes in China would increase in the future. The ARIMA model fitted and predicted well. The number of people with diabetes from 2020 to 2025 would be about 94, 96, 97, 98, 99 and 100 m respectively. The economic burden of diabetes from 2019 to 2025 would be about $156b, $160b, $163b, $165b, $167b, $169b and $170b respectively. Conclusion: The situation of diabetes in China is serious. The ARIMA model can be used to predict the number of people with diabetes. We should allocate health resources in a rational manner to improve the prevention and control of diabetes.

Abstract Environmental regulation is an institutional guarantee for achieving green and sustainable economic development, and the implementation effect of environmental regulation policies is a concern for all sectors of society. This paper empirically examines the impact of environmental regulation on firms’ environmental governance behavior using a double difference model with the help of a quasi-natural experiment, the new Environmental Protection Law, and analyzes the mediating effect of central environmental protection inspectors using data from listed companies in China from 2011 to 2020. It was found that environmental regulation significantly enhances firms’ motivation to participate in environmental governance and central environmental protection inspectors play a mediating role in the impact of environmental regulation on firms’ environmental governance behavior. Furthermore, heterogeneity analysis shows that the enhancement effect of environmental regulation on firms’ environmental governance behavior mainly exists in large-scale firms and nonstate enterprises.
