Abstract The rapid development of nanomedicine has considerably advanced precision therapy for cancer treatment. Superior to traditional chemotherapy, emerging theranostic nanoprodrugs can effectively realize inherent self-tracking, targeted drug delivery, stimuli-triggered drug release, and reduced systemic toxicity of chemotherapeutic drugs. However, theranostic nanoprodrugs with real-time drug release monitoring have remained rare so far. In this work, we developed a new glutathione-responsive theranostic nanoprodrug with a high drug-loading content of 59.4 wt % and an average nanoscale size of 46 nm, consisting of the anticancer drug paclitaxel and a fluorescent imaging probe with a high fluorescence quantum yield, which are linked by a disulfide-based glutathione-sensitive self-immolating linker. The strong fluorescence emission of the fluorophore enables efficacious self-tracking and sensitive fluorescence "ON-OFF" glutathione sensing. Upon encountering high-level glutathione in cancer cells, the disulfide bond is cleaved, and the resulting linker halves spontaneously collapse into cyclic small molecules at the same pace, leading to the simultaneous release of the therapeutic drug and the fluorescence-OFF imaging probe. Thereby, the drug release process is efficiently monitored by the fluorescence change in the nanoprodrug. The nanoprodrugs exerted high cytotoxicity toward various cancer cells, especially for A549 and HEK-293 cells, in which the nanoprodrugs generated better therapeutic effects than free paclitaxel. Our work demonstrated a new modality of smart theranostic nanoprodrugs for precise cancer therapy.

Abstract Introduction: Loneliness is characterized by a sense of melancholy, emptiness, and despair, as well as a higher risk of both psychological and physical problems. Numerous post-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) sequela, both physically and mentally, have been caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic that has affected many people. Memory issues and loneliness were found to be uniquely correlated. The purpose of this study was to evaluate how the COVID-19 epidemic affected the levels of loneliness among Jordanian university students.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional questionnaire-based study. Google Forms were used for data collection, utilizing a three-item loneliness scale developed by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), United States, which accounts for the following items: (1) how often does the participant feel about lacking companionship, (2) how often does the participant feel being left out, and (3) how often does the participant feel isolated from others. Each item was marked for three frequency levels of experience: (1) hardly ever, (2) some of the time, and (3) often. Responses to the three loneliness questions were graded on a scale of 3-9, with scores between 3 and 5 indicating "not lonely" and scores between 6 and 9 indicating "lonely."
Results: The study included 802 participating students. Specifically, 75.4% of the participants were females, 58% were aged 20-25, and 39% were 17-19. In addition, 37% were from the capital city, while 28% lived in the middle area. Seventy nine percent were from public universities, and 74% were studying in their second year. According to UCLA's three-item loneliness scale, 411 (51.2%) participants were lonely, while 391 (48.8%) participants were not feeling lonely. According to direct question answers, 576 (71.8%) participants were lonely, and 226 (28.2%) were not lonely.
Conclusion: The study concluded that the frequency of loneliness was high among Jordanian university students. However, both genders experienced equal levels of loneliness, while younger participants felt more lonely than older ones.

Abstract Introduction: and Importance: Adult Pilocytic Astrocytomas (APA) are infrequent low grade tumors. While supratentorial APA is considered rare, insular APA is extremely rare.
Case presentation: We present a case of pure insular APA along with surgical outcomes. Tractography and functional MRI were obtained pre-operatively. The patient underwent neuro-navigation guided microsurgical resection with sub-cortical white matter mapping, utilizing Intra-operative MRI guidance. The Sylvain fissure was opened to secure the M3 branches, and near total resection was achieved.
Clinical discussion: APA in the insula is a very rare presentation and is considered challenging. Its proximity to the middle cerebral and lenticulostriate arteries, motor areas, and language areas makes accessing and resecting the tumor challenging. A multidisciplinary approach by an experienced team is needed to plan the management of young adult patients and reach the best outcomes.
Conclusion: Implementing microsurgical techniques, modern imaging modalities and intraoperative mapping helps to achieve maximal safe resection without risking functions.

Abstract Background: Healthcare professionals' empathic behaviour is an important component of quality health care. Patients' reports suggest that empathy is often lacking. Specific factors that may facilitate or inhibit empathetic behaviour have not been extensively examined. In Qatar, empathy may be affected by a completely multicultural, multilinguistic setting where healthcare professionals and patients interact.
Aim: The purpose of this integrative literature review is to provide the latest evidence on factors that influence the demonstration of empathetic behaviour of nurses and physicians toward patients and to draw general conclusions that increase understanding.
Methods: A literature search was conducted in CINAHL, Medline (Ovid), PsycINFO, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies, Education Research Complete, ERIC, Health Source: Nursing/ Academic databases, and Google Scholar to identify relevant studies. A total of 18 quantitative and qualitative studies that satisfied the inclusion criteria were selected to be included in the review.
Results: Three high order factors are described: organizational, personal and interpersonal, and demographic factors. Seven subfactors included: burnout, increased workload, lack of organizational support, training workshops, patient behaviour, inappropriate role modelling, and informal, experiential learning.
Conclusion: The organizational culture is strongly implicated in inhibiting empathy. Healthcare providers' empathetic responses to patients are linked and connected to a well-resourced, collegial, professional organizational environment that builds empathy towards everyone (not only patients).

Abstract Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a public health emergency. There is insufficient information on AMR in the context of humanitarian settings. An understanding of behavioral and institutional-level factors can strengthen antimicrobial stewardship. This study used a semistructured questionnaire to assess both knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) on antimicrobial use, resistance and stewardship, and options to improving prescribing, among prescribers at the Primary Healthcare facilities of the United Nations' Relief and Works Agency Jordan field office. Responses to the KAP questions were evaluated using the Capability, Opportunity, Motivation, Behavior (COM-B) framework and Bloom's cutoffs. For each framework component, Bloom's cutoffs and interpretations were as follows: ≥ 80%, "good"; 60-79%, "moderate"; and < 60%, "poor." Fourteen options to improve prescribing were each assessed using 5-point Likert scales from very unhelpful to very helpful, aggregated by helpful and very helpful and ranked as follows: > 90%, best/most acceptable; > 80-90%, acceptable; and 70-80% as maybe acceptable/good. The questionnaire response rate was 59% (37/63) with a completion rate of 92% (34/37). Aggregate scores for real knowledge on AMR was 97%; opportunity to improve prescribing 88%; and motivation 16%-participants did not believe that there was a connection between their prescribing and AMR or that they had a key role in helping control AMR. Good options (74% aggregate score) to improving prescribing were the availability of guidelines and resistance data. There was good knowledge of AMR and good opportunities, but poor motivation for rational prescribing or behavioral change. There is a clinical need for AMR data to promote rational antibiotic prescribing.

Abstract Introduction: Frontolateral craniotomy is a relatively small craniotomy is well established in skull base surgeries to deal with most of the anterior fossa, sellar, and parasellar lesions, providing adequate exposure and minimal brain retraction. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted of 83 cases, which occurred over the past 6 years, of different types of anterior cranial fossa, sellar, and parasellar tumors, which were approached through right frontolateral craniotomy. Discussion: A right frontolateral craniotomy that was 3 × 4 cm in dimension and flush with the roof of the orbit was used in all cases. We could achieve total resection in most of these tumors with minimal complications and good outcome. Different types of tumors were approached using this technique. Comparing our results with other approaches revealed better results with this minimally invasive technique regarding the total resection and follow-up. Conclusion: The frontolateral approach is minimally invasive, shortening operative time and minimizing morbidity.

Abstract Background: Management of craniopharyngioma in children is challenging, and their quality of life can be significantly affected. Series describing this from low-middle income countries (LMIC) are few.
Patients and methods: The study provides a retrospective chart review of pediatric patients <18 years old, diagnosed with craniopharyngioma between 2003 and 2014, and treated at King Hussein Cancer Center, Jordan.
Results: Twenty-four patients (12 males) were identified. Median age at diagnosis was 7.4 years (0.9-16.4 years). Commonest symptoms were visual impairment and headache (71%). Review of seventeen preoperative MRIs showed hypothalamic involvement in 88% and hydrocephalus in 76%. Thirteen patients (54%) had multiple surgical interventions. Five patients (21%) had initial gross total resection. Eleven patients (46%) received radiotherapy and six (25%) intra-cystic interferon. Five years' survival was 87 ± 7% with a median follow-up of 4.5 years (0.3-12.3 years). Four patients (17%) died; one after post-operative cerebral infarction and three secondary to hypothalamic damage. At their last evaluation, all but one patient required multiple hormonal supplements. Ten patients (42%) had best eye visual acuity (VA) >20/40, and four (16%) were legally blind. Eleven patients (46%) were overweight/obese; one had gastric bypass surgery. Seven patients had hyperlipidemia, and eight developed fatty liver infiltration. Eleven patients (65%) were attending schools and one at college. Nine of the living patients (53%) expressed difficulty to engage in the community.
Conclusions: Management of pediatric craniopharyngioma is particularly complex and demanding in LMIC. Multidisciplinary care is integral to optimize the care and minimize the morbidities. A management outline for LMIC is proposed.

Abstract Successful twinning initiatives have been reported in childhood leukemia. Pediatric neuro-oncology requires a complex multidisciplinary approach and the feasibility of similar twinning programs is unknown. Twinning between King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto started with e-mail communications, and subsequently included monthly videoconferences and exchanges between institutions. The outcome of 35 newly diagnosed medulloblastoma patients (22 high-risk and 13 average-risk) treated during this period is reported. The 3-year overall survival for average risk and high-risk patients was 100 and 81%, respectively. This experience suggests that twinning may facilitate the implementation of multidisciplinary neuro-oncology programs in low-income countries. Videoconferencing allows interactive exchanges with a significant learning impact.
