Abstract We present the measurements of individual bound electron g factors of ^{20}Ne^{9+} and ^{22}Ne^{9+} on the relative level of 0.1 parts per billion. The comparison with theory represents the most stringent test of bound-state QED in strong electric fields. A dedicated mass measurement results in m(^{20}Ne)=19.992 440 168 77(9)  u, which improves the current literature value by a factor of 18, disagrees by 4 standard deviations, and represents the most precisely measured mass value in atomic mass units. Together, these measurements yield an electron mass on the relative level of 0.1 ppb with m_{e}=5.485 799 090 99(59)×10^{-4}  u as well as a factor of seven improved m(^{22}Ne)=21.991 385 098 2(26)  u.

Abstract Recent advances in nanotechnology and optics have paved the way for new plasmonic devices. One of them are nanopatch antennas that are simple and, at the same time, effective devices for localizing the electromagnetic field on a scale of less than 10 nm and can be used in photonic integrated circuits as effective sources of photons, including single-photon sources. In the present study, we investigate the radiative characteristics of a submonolayer of colloidal CdSe/CdS quantum dots that form island structures in a resonator: a cubic silver nanoparticle on an aluminum mirror. For detecting plasmonic nanoparticles on glass or metal surfaces, we propose a new technique involving a tunable laser and a confocal microscope. We provide a comparative study of the luminescence enhancement factors for QDs in the NPAs upon off-resonance excitation and at a wavelength close to the resonance; a significant difference in the luminescence enhancement factors (by order of magnitude) is demonstrated. A 60-fold reduction in the spontaneous emission time, as well as an increase in the radiation intensity by a factor of 330, has been obtained in the experiments. The increase in the spontaneous emission rate demonstrated for the quantum dots is explained by the Purcell effect. Full-wave simulations of electromagnetic fields were carried out for the model of the developed nanopatch antenna; luminescence enhancement factors and radiative efficiencies were calculated as well.

Abstract Highly charged ions (HCIs) offer many opportunities for next-generation clock research due to the vast landscape of available electronic transitions in different charge states. The development of extreme ultraviolet frequency combs has enabled the search for clock transitions based on shorter wavelengths in HCIs. However, without initial knowledge of the energy of the clock states, these narrow transitions are difficult to be probed by lasers. In this Letter, we provide experimental observation and theoretical calculation of a long-lived electronic state in Nb-like Pb^{41+} that could be used as a clock state. With the mass spectrometer PENTATRAP, the excitation energy of this metastable state is directly determined as a mass difference at an energy of 31.2(8) eV, corresponding to one of the most precise relative mass determinations to date with a fractional uncertainty of 4×10^{-12}. This experimental result agrees within 1σ with two partially different ab initio multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock calculations of 31.68(13) eV and 31.76(35) eV, respectively. With a calculated lifetime of 26.5(5.3) days, the transition from this metastable state to the ground state bears a quality factor of 1.1×10^{23} and allows for the construction of a HCI clock with a fractional frequency instability of <10^{-19}/sqrt[τ].

Abstract The most significant goal of nanophotonics is the development of high-speed quantum emitting devices operating at ambient temperature. In this regard, plasmonic nanoparticles-on-mirror are potential candidates for designing high-speed photon sources. We introduce a novel hybrid nanoantenna (HNA) with CdSe/CdS colloidal quantum dots (QDs) based on a silver nanocube in a metal cup that presents a nanoparticle-in-cavity coupled with an emitters system. We use focused ion beam nanolithography to fabricate an ordered array of cups, which were then filled with colloidal nanoparticles using the most simple drop-casting and spin coating methods. The spectral and time-resolved studies of the samples with one or more nanocubes in the cup reveal a significant change in the radiation characteristics of QDs inside the nanoantenna. The Purcell effect causes an increase in the fluorescence decay rate (≥30) and an increase in the fluorescence intensity (≥3) of emitters in the HNA. Using the finite element method simulations, we have discovered that the proximity of the cups wall affects the oscillation modes of the gap plasmon, which, in turn, leads to changes in the electric field enhancement inside the nanoantenna gap. Additionally, substantial variations in the behavior of the gap plasmons at different polarizations of the exciting radiation have been revealed. The proposed nanoantenna can be useful in the development of plasmonic sensors, display pixels, and single-photon sources.

Abstract The cyclotron frequency ratio of ^{187}Os^{29+} to ^{187}Re^{29+} ions was measured with the Penning-trap mass spectrometer PENTATRAP. The achieved result of R=1.000 000 013 882(5) is to date the most precise such measurement performed on ions. Furthermore, the total binding-energy difference of the 29 missing electrons in Re and Os was calculated by relativistic multiconfiguration methods, yielding the value of ΔE=53.5(10)  eV. Finally, using the achieved results, the mass difference between neutral ^{187}Re and ^{187}Os, i.e., the Q value of the β^{-} decay of ^{187}Re, is determined to be 2470.9(13) eV.

Abstract Background: Previous studies suggest that engagement in any type of physical activity can be protective against mental health issues, whereas elite-level athletes can endure various mental health challenges. The aim of this study was to determine variations in the prevalence of psychological distress among elite sambo athletes and their recreational counterparts.
Methods: A sample consisting of 245 athletes (127 males and 118 females) was chosen. Out of the total sample, 105 were elite-level athletes while 140 were recreational athletes. Participants were accessed via the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21 to determine their stress in various domains at a given time.
Results: Data indicated that all tested differences between elite sambo athletes and recreational athletes were statistically significant; recreational athletes had a higher score on the depression scale, anxiety and stress, and a general distress score than sambo athletes. Although there are no gender differences in psychological distress in the total sample of athletes, elite sambo athletes achieve significantly lower scores in all tested variants than recreational ones. Women who engage in recreational activities have stood out as a vulnerable subsample in psychological stress.
Conclusion: Future epidemiological and interventional studies should explore optimal strategies to identify mental health needs based on specific sport activity, especially in terms of gender. There is a need to place special emphasis on psychological distress in the context of combat sports.

Abstract The objectives of this research were to establish somatotype and hand-grip strength between elite cadet male and female sambo athletes divided by weight categories.A total of 97 elite cadet sambo athletes, participants of the World Cadets Sambo Championships 2018 participated in the study. Male and female sambo athletes were divided by official weight categories. Anthropometrical variables were taken in order to calculate somatotypes and hand-grip strength. A one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's post hoc tests were used to compare group differences by weight categories. Results of this study provide the first description of somatotype and hand-grip strength of elite male and female cadet sambo athletes in relation to weight category. A typical somatotype in male sambo athletes was endomorphic mesomorphs with a predominance of musculoskeletal tissue, while female athletes differed concerning weight category. Overall, an increase in handgrip strength across weight categories was noted. Hand-grip strength increases linearly from the lightest to the heaviest weight category except in -66 and -84 kg in male athletes. Differences in handgrip strength of female athletes were detected between the lightest group and last six groups in all three variables in favor of last six as well as -44 and kg -48 kg compared with the heaviest. To the best of our knowledge, this study provides the first normative data of somatotype and hand-grip strength analyses in relation to age, gender, and weight categories of cadet sambo athletes. The anthropometric profile of sambo athletes changed according to their weight category. Mesomorphy was the most dominant somatotype component in male athletes, while female had three different types of somatotype component in relation to weight category. In conclusion, we found differences in hand-grip strength related to weight category, which can be linked to the muscle mass of athletes. Future studies should focus on somatotype and strength handgrip values of international compared to national level sambo athletes.

Abstract This paper reports on the development and testing of a novel, highly efficient technique for the injection of very rare species into electron beam ion traps (EBITs) for the production of highly charged ions (HCI). It relies on in-trap laser-induced desorption of atoms from a sample brought very close to the electron beam resulting in a very high capture efficiency in the EBIT. We have demonstrated a steady production of HCI of the stable isotope
