    Abstract Chronic liver disease is highly prevalent and often leads to fibrosis or cirrhosis and complications such as liver failure and hepatocellular carcinoma. The diagnosis and staging of liver fibrosis is crucial to determine management and mitigate complications. Liver biopsy for histologic assessment has limitations such as sampling bias and high interreader variability that reduce precision, which is particularly challenging in longitudinal monitoring. MR elastography (MRE) is considered the most accurate noninvasive technique for diagnosing and staging liver fibrosis. In MRE, low-frequency vibrations are applied to the abdomen, and the propagation of shear waves through the liver is analyzed to measure liver stiffness, a biomarker for the detection and staging of liver fibrosis. As MRE has become more widely used in clinical care and research, different contexts of use have emerged. This review focuses on the latest developments in the use of MRE for the assessment of liver fibrosis; provides guidance for image acquisition and interpretation; summarizes diagnostic performance, along with thresholds for diagnosis and staging of liver fibrosis; discusses current and emerging clinical applications; and describes the latest technical developments.

    Abstract Background: The intestinal microbiota (IM) has been found to contribute to metabolic disorders that lead to excessive fat accumulation, systemic and chronic low-grade inflammation, and insulin resistance in the host. Current research highlights a pivotal interaction between IM and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in mitigating obesity-related diseases. Undeniably, IM stands as a central focus in TCM research aimed at preventing and treating obesity. Therefore, tracing the progress and trends in this field can offer valuable references and insights for future studies.
    Methods: On June 17, 2023, we conducted a literature search on the topic of "IM and obesity in TCM" spanning the period from 2009 to 2023. We extracted the primary information of the publications, which includes complete records and reference citations, from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) within the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). To visualize and analyze the literature, we utilized CiteSpace and VOSviewer for bibliometric analysis.
    Results: During the past fifteen years, a rapid increase in the number of publications has been observed. The cooperative networks demonstrate China, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and Food & Function as the most active countries, organizations, and journals in this field, respectively. Liu Bin has contributed the most publications. A paper by Xu Jia, published in 2014, holds the highest Local Citation Score (LCS). Analyses of keyword co-occurrence and reference co-citation indicate that the research hotspots of IM and obesity in TCM are primarily focused on the metabolic benefits driven by endogenous functional metabolic molecules generated by TCM regulation of IM. Other focal points include the mechanism by which TCM regulates IM to restore the intestinal mucosal barrier This is a provisional file, not the final typeset article, and manages the gut-organ axis, the metabolic advantages of acupuncture's regulation of IM, and the process by which Chinese medicine small molecules transform IM.
    Conclusion: This research offers a comprehensive understanding of the current status, hotspots, and trends in global TCM research. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive summary and exploration of the latest advancements in this field, thereby emphasizing the essence of TCM more effectively.

    Conclusions: This review recommends that multiple eHealth-delivered lifestyle strategies may be useful for preventing or treating overweight and obesity among children and adolescents. However, our results should be cautiously interpreted due to certain limitations in our study.

    Abstract Purpose To evaluate the performance of major features, ancillary features, and categories of Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) version 2014 at magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Materials and Methods This retrospective institutional review board-approved study included patients with liver MR imaging and at least one pathologically proved lesion. Between 2004 and 2016, 102 patients (275 observations including 113 HCCs) met inclusion criteria. Two radiologists independently assessed major and ancillary imaging features for each liver observation and assigned a LI-RADS category. Per-lesion estimates of diagnostic performance of major features, ancillary features, and LI-RADS categories were assessed by using generalized estimating equation models. Results Major features (arterial phase hyperenhancement, washout, capsule, and threshold growth) had a sensitivity of 88.5%, 60.6%, 32.9%, and 41.6%, and a specificity of 18.6%, 84.8%, 98.8%, and 83.2% for HCC, respectively. Ancillary features (mild-moderate T2 hyperintensity, restricted diffusion, mosaic architecture, intralesional fat, lesional fat sparing, blood products, and subthreshold growth) had a sensitivity of 62.2%, 54.8%, 9.9%, 30.9%, 23.1%, 2.8%, and 48.3%, and a specificity of 79.4%, 90.6%, 99.4%, 94.2%, 83.1%, 99.3%, and 91.4% for HCC, respectively. The LR-5 or LR-5 V categories had a per-lesion sensitivity of 50.8% and a specificity of 95.8% for HCC, respectively. The LR-4, LR-5, or LR-5 V categories (determined by using major features only vs combination of major and ancillary features) had a per-lesion sensitivity of 75.9% and 87.9% and a per-lesion specificity of 87.5% and 86.2%, respectively. Conclusion The use of ancillary features in combination with major features increases the sensitivity while preserving a high specificity for the diagnosis of HCC.
