Abstract The encapsulation of active ingredients into solid capsules from biodegradable materials has received significant attention over the last decades. In this short review, we focus on the formation of micro- and nano-sized capsules and emulsions based on artificial peptides as a fully degradable material. It deals with various approaches for the preparation of peptide-based capsules as well as with their crucial properties such as size and stability. We categorize all preparation procedures into three basic approaches: self-assembly, polymerization and crosslinking, and layer-by-layer technology. This article is meant to offer a short overview over all successful methods suitable for obtaining access to these very promising carrier systems.

Abstract Currently, under the impact of the COVID-19, college students are facing increasingly elevated employment pressure and higher education pressure. This can easily cause a huge psychological burden on them, causing affective cognition problems such as anxiety and depression. In the long run, this is not conducive to students' physical and mental health, nor is it conducive to the healthy development of the school and even the whole society. Therefore, it is imperative to build a novel adaptive affective cognition analysis model for college students. In particular, in the context of smart cities and smart China, many universities have opened the smart campus mode, which provides a huge data resource for our research. Due to problems of the low real-time evaluation and single data source in traditional questionnaire evaluation methods, evaluation errors are prone to occur, which in turn interferes with subsequent treatment. Therefore, for the purpose of alleviating the above deficiencies and improving the efficiency and accuracy of the affective cognition analysis model of college students, this paper studies the adaptive affective cognition analysis method of college students on basis of deep learning. First, because students' psychological problems are often not sudden, on the contrary, most of these abnormalities will leave traces in their daily activities. Therefore, this paper constructs a multisource dataset with the access control data, network data, and learning data collected from the smart campus platform to describe the affective cognition status of students. Second, the multisource dataset is divided into two categories: image and text, and the CNN model is introduced to mine the psychological characteristics of college students, so as to provide a reference for the subsequent affective cognition state assessment. Finally, simulation tests are developed to confirm the viability of the technique suggested in this research. The experiments demonstrate that the accuracy of the assessment model is significantly increased because it can fully reflect the heterogeneity and comprehensiveness of the data. This also highlights that the new method has a wide range of potential applications in the modern campus setting and is also helpful in fostering the accuracy and depth of college students' work on their affective cognition.

Abstract To address the problems of poor compatibility, weak load capacity, and time consumption of existing multimedia-assisted teaching systems, we propose and design a physics multimedia-assisted English teaching system based on a concept network. The architecture of the physics multimedia-assisted teaching system is constructed with the logical layer as the core, and the theoretical knowledge module, experiment module, and student practice module are designed, respectively. Based on the concept network, a large number of rules in the physics teaching system are attached to the concepts to form the concept network knowledge system and complete the design of the theoretical knowledge system. This paper explores the multimedia teaching of college English and points out the advantages and characteristics of this teaching mode and the problems to be paid attention to in the process of application. The design of the physics multimedia-assisted teaching system is completed by realizing students' practice and giving feedback on the practice results. The experimental results show that the system has good compatibility, strong load capacity, low time consumption, and practical application value.

Abstract This work aims to investigate the potential fire hazard stemming from the overheating of power equipment. The advent of the artificial intelligence era has facilitated the fusion of blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. This work delves into the technical standards for IoT equipment monitoring and smart grid communication, and the IoT environment of power grid equipment. This work introduces a temperature monitoring network tailored for IoT wireless power equipment suitable for the power environment, and conducts system debugging in the power laboratory. The findings affirm that the temperature out-of-limit alarm testing has met the required criteria, confirming the system's ability to issue timely warnings when temperatures breach a predefined threshold, effectively avoiding high-temperature misfires. This work fully harnesses the secure and user-friendly operation of smart blockchain and the wireless sensing technology of the IoT to realize online monitoring and remote temperature measurement of the power system. It can effectively prevent equipment from overheating and damage, and promote the development of equipment condition monitoring technology in electric power engineering.

Abstract The Maillard conjugation of hemp protein with d-xylose was studied, focusing on the influence of ultrasonic waves, processing time, and pressure. Cavitation-driven processes, including ultrasonication (US) and manothermosonication (MTS), were found to impact the degree of grafting, functional characteristics, and structural alterations, affecting conjugation efficiency. The glycation of hemp protein with xylose assisted with US and MTS was investigated under varying pressures. MTS- and US-assisted glycation processes result in 4.22- and 1.64-fold higher degrees of grafting compared to the classical method within a short time frame. The MTS procedures also improved solubility (+3.6-fold), emulsion (+15-fold), and foaming (+1.7-fold) properties, especially at optimized pressure levels, compared to classical conjugates. Furthermore, the complexation of MTS-assisted conjugates with curcumin (Cur) enhanced Cur stability by more than 1.4-fold compared to the classical procedure during 20-day storage at 4 oC. The findings suggest potential applications in the pharmaceutical industry, active dairy/meat analog development, and gel formulation.

Abstract Background: The green peach aphid (Myzus persicae) is a severe agricultural crop pest that has developed resistance to most current control methods, requiring the urgent development of novel strategies. Plant proteinase inhibitors (PINs) are small proteins that protect plants against pathogens and/or herbivores, likely by preventing efficient protein digestion.
Results: We identified 67 protease genes in the transcriptomes of three M. persicae lineages (USDA-Red, G002, and G006). Comparison of gene expression levels in aphid guts and whole aphids showed that several proteases, including a highly expressed serine protease, are significantly overexpressed in the guts. Furthermore, we identified three genes encoding serine protease inhibitors (SerPIN-II1, 2, and 3) in Nicotiana benthamiana, which is a non-preferred host for M. persicae. Using virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) with a tobacco rattle virus (TRV) vector and overexpression with a turnip mosaic virus (TuMV) vector, we demonstrated that N. benthamiana SerPIN-II1 and SerPIN-II2 cause reduced survival and growth, but do not affect aphid protein content. Similarly, SerPIN-II3 overexpression reduced survival and growth, and serpin-II3 knockout mutations, which we generated using CRISPR/Cas9, increased survival and growth. Whereas protein content was significantly increased in aphids fed on SerPIN-II3 overexpressing plants, it was decreased in aphids fed on serpin-II3 mutants.
Conclusion: Our results show that three PIN-IIs from N. benthamiana, a non-preferred host plant, effectively inhibit M. persicae survival and growth, thereby representing a new resource for the development of aphid-resistant crop plants. Abstract Background: MiR-150-5p is one of the miRNAs in the expression profile of miRNAs, and in many previous studies, it has been shown that miR-150-5p may play an important role in peripheral blood dendritic cells (DCs) of allergic rhinitis (AR) patients. We sought to investigate the role and mechanism of miR-150-5p in regulating DC function by modulating EGR2 and influencing T cell derivation to promote AR development.
Methods: The expression of miR-150-5p and EGR2 in AR patients was examined by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), the expression of IL-4 cytokines in the supernatant of AR patients was tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the expression of eosinophils in the supernatant of AR patients was measured by HE staining. The expression of EGR2 was detected by immunohistochemistry and fluorescent m-immunohistochemistry.
Results: MiR-150-5p expression was up-regulated and EGR2 expression was down-regulated in peripheral blood DCs from AR patients. miR-150-5p upregulated DCs, which promoted T-cell differentiation. miR-150-5p further regulated EGR2, which suppressed DCs and caused alteration of T-cell differentiation, in turn triggering the occurrence of AR.
Conclusion: MiR-150-5p and its target gene EGR2 are involved in the development of AR, and DCs foster T-cell differentiation in peripheral blood of AR patients.

Abstract In order to study the influence of different vascular stenosis rates and stent-to-artery ratios on the fatigue strength and reliability of lower limb arterial stents, numerical simulation was conducted for the fatigue strength of complete SE stents under pulsating loads using a finite element method. Then, fracture mechanics and conditional probability theory were adopted for mathematical modeling, whereby analyzing the crack growth rate and reliability with stents of different thickness (0.12, 0.15, and 0.18 mm) at different vascular stenosis rates (30, 50, and 70%) and stent-to-artery ratios (80, 85, and 90%). The study found: all three stents of different thickness failed to meet 10-year service life at three vascular stenosis rates; all three stents of different thickness met 10-year service life at three stent-to-artery ratios. With increased vascular stenosis rate, the elastic strain of stents was increased, while the fatigue strength was decreased; with increased stent-to-artery ratio, the elastic strain of the stent was increased, while the reliability of the stent was reduced. After the stent with an initial crack was implanted into the vessel, the crack length underwent non-linear growth with increased pulsating cyclic loads. When the pulsating load reached 3 × 10
