    Abstract RESUMO Este artigo critica a chamada dolarização da economia brasileira. O argumento é baseado na discussão de Marx sobre as funções do dinheiro. O instrumento eleito para atuar como dinheiro precisa atuar como meio de pagamento, ou seja, deve ser usado para pagar pelas mercadorias que foram transacionadas. O dólar ainda não pode cumprir esta função porque não existe em volume suficiente para pagar as mercadorias que foram transacionadas.

    Abstract Este artículo de reflexión es resultado de una investigación documental, de naturaleza exploratoria, que recurre a la narrativa del ensayo. Se persigue el objetivo de poner en evidencia la relación entre la subjetividad hipermoderna y el capitalismo actual, fundamento de las organiza- ciones que deben ser administradas y que son objeto de estudio del campo disciplinal de los estudios organizacionales. Se recurre a una exposición argumental de las maltrechas legitimidades del capitalismo y del socialismo, para develar la emergencia de la subjetividad hipermoderna como blindaje que garantiza su reproducción. Se concluye que esta goza de una vida convertida en fragmentos desconectados de la cadena del sentido que requiere toda utopía promisoria de un fu- turo mejor. En estas condiciones, los estudios organizacionales requieren repensar cuál es la nueva subjetividad que alimenta y aceita la vida organizacional. Se puede presenciar una nueva subjetividad caracterizada por una ceguera mediada por el interés subjetivo de consumir y agradecer al capitalismo contemporáneo permitirle no caer brutalmente en las precariedades que nacen del mercado libertario y moralmente desregulado. Así, se contribuye a los estudios organizacionales re- flexionando sobre la necesidad de concebir un nuevo pensamiento administrativo que se opongan a la anulación del ejercicio de la libertad y la igualdad jurídica moderna, que legitimó la política y la utopía como valores de dignificación del ser humano y de la vida.

    Abstract The objective of this study was to explore the impact of adopting eco-innovation on the performance of companies in the hotel sector in Brazil, since a large part of the growth in this sector is evidenced by concern for the environment, which is also reflected in the increase in demand for this leisure service and contact with nature. To carry out this study, quantitative research was carried out through the application of a questionnaire, which was sent to the managers of hotels and inns and analyzed through hypothesis tests with structural equation modeling of partial least squares (PLS-SEM). The results show that environmental pressure is positively related to the adoption of environmental practices, and this adoption is positively related to operational improvements and the competitiveness of companies in the hotel sector. Furthermore, the adoption of environmental practices is indirectly positively related to competitiveness, mediated by an operational improvement. Finally, the adoption of environmental practices, although positively related to performance mediated by competitiveness, was not statistically significant, and therefore, it cannot be said that this adoption would generate better performance in companies in the hotel sector in Brazil. Thus, in a broader context, the objective of this study was to provide useful empirical evidence and bring elements, perceptions, and support to the discussion of the theme that the adoption of eco-innovation positively impacts companies in the hotel sector.

    Abstract The hippocampus is a brain region crucially involved in regulating stress responses and highly sensitive to environmental changes, with elevated proliferative and adaptive activity of neurons and glial cells. Despite the prevalence of environmental noise as a stressor, its effects on hippocampal cytoarchitecture remain largely unknown. In this study, we aimed to investigate the impact of acoustic stress on hippocampal proliferation and glial cytoarchitecture in adult male rats, using environmental noise as a stress model. After 21 days of noise exposure, our results showed abnormal cellular proliferation in the hippocampus, with an inverse effect on the proliferation ratios of astrocytes and microglia. Both cell lineages also displayed atrophic morphologies with fewer processes and lower densities in the noise-stressed animals. Our findings suggest that, stress not only affects neurogenesis and neuronal death in the hippocampus, but also the proliferation ratio, cell density, and morphology of glial cells, potentially triggering an inflammatory-like response that compromises their homeostatic and repair functions.

    Abstract La Constitución de 1991 está llena de aspiraciones. Una de las fundamentales, dada la situación de conflicto armado y de crisis de derechos humanos del país, es la de alcanzar la paz. Sin embargo, luego de 30 años, existe la sensación de que dicha aspiración no se va a poder alcanzar. En este artículo sostenemos que esta sensación se arraiga en que la paz se presenta como un deseo tan inabarcable como inalcanzable, sin vías de concreción, y también surge, de visiones generales que nos dicen muy poco del cambio social que queremos lograr. Por esa razón, asumimos que hay disputas legitimas en las diferentes manifestaciones constitucionales de la paz, proponemos abordar la paz desde la convivencia pacífica, y valoramos si algunas de las transformaciones que permitió la Constitución dan razones para la esperanza o la desesperanza en esta materia.

    Abstract La recherche tant sur le patronage artistique des Pérez de Guzmán dans la capitale de leur états seigneuriaux, Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cadix), que sur la personnalité des artistes et sur les œuvres produites par cette cour artistique lui donnant forme, nous occupe depuis désormais plus de vingt ans. Grâce à la documentation inédite conservée dans les propres archives de la maison ducale des Medina Sidonia et dans d’autres fonds des environs, nous avons tenté de contextualiser au plus près de la réalité artistique au moyen d’études formelles et iconographiques des œuvres d’art conservées. Avec cet article – fruit d’une brève réflexion lors d’une table ronde –, nous voudrions juste éclairer quelque peu cette réalité complexe à laquelle nous renvoyons plus en profondeur dans l’appareil critique.

    Abstract Background and objective: T-wave alternans (TWA) is a fluctuation of the ST–T complex of the surface electrocardiogram (ECG) on an every–other–beat basis. It has been shown to be clinically helpful for sudden cardiac death stratification, though the lack of a gold standard to benchmark detection methods limits its application and impairs the development of alternative techniques. In this work, a novel approach based on machine learning for TWA detection is proposed. Additionally, a complete experimental setup is presented for TWA detection methods benchmarking. Methods: The proposed experimental setup is based on the use of open-source databases to enable experiment replication and the use of real ECG signals with added TWA episodes. Also, intra-patient overfitting and class imbalance have been carefully avoided. The Spectral Method (SM), the Modified Moving Average Method (MMA), and the Time Domain Method (TM) are used to obtain input features to the Machine Learning (ML) algorithms, namely, K Nearest Neighbor, Decision Trees, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine and Multi-Layer Perceptron. Results: There were not found large differences in the performance of the different ML algorithms. Decision Trees showed the best overall performance (accuracy 0.88±0.04, precision 0.89±0.05, Recall 0.90±0.05, F1 score 0.89±0.03). Compared to the SM (accuracy 0.79, precision 0.93, Recall 0.64, F1 score 0.76) there was an improvement in every metric except for the precision. Conclusions: In this work, a realistic database to test the presence of TWA using ML algorithms was assembled. The ML algorithms overall outperformed the SM used as a gold standard. Learning from data to identify alternans elicits a substantial detection growth at the expense of a small increment of the false alarm.

    Abstract No século XX a aproximação da Biblioteconomia com a Documentação e o surgimento da Ciência da Informação cria um cenário em que surgiram conceitos e práticas profissionais que apesar da grande utilização, não possuem um entendimento definido entre os pesquisadores. O trabalho apresenta a Mediação da Informação como um desses conceitos onde o fazer se encontra em uma disciplina e a discussão teórica está em outra, Biblioteconomia e na Ciência da Informação respectivamente. Discorre sobre a Mediação da Informação ter entendimentos distintos na Ciência da Informação. Pondera as principais ideias da área e a produção recente acerca do conceito, por meio da metodologia Delphi para verificar se há um consenso entre os pesquisadores da área que apresentaram trabalhos no último triênio do ENANCIB. Gera um pensamento acerca do conceito em que a Mediação é um conceito da Ciência da Informação, baseado em diversas áreas do conhecimento, onde há interferência do profissional, para que haja acesso à informação. In the 20th century, the approach of Library Science and Documentation Science with the introduction of information science created a scenario, in which despite professionals' high use of these Sciences they did not clearly comprehend concepts and practices. This article presents mediation as one of those concepts present when practice is a part of a discipline and theoretical discussion is another part; that is library science and documentation, respectively. This article discusses mediation including its different conceptions in information science, and ponders on the main ideas of the zone and of the recent production of this concept via Delphi methodology to verify if there is a consensus among researchers in the field. These researchers have had jobs at the (NISE) national information science research event (In Spanish, Encuentro Nacional de Investigación en Ciencias de la Información -ENANCIB) in the last 3 years. This work presents mediation as a concept of information science based on different fields of knowledge where there is a professional interferes; and therefore, there is no access to information.
