Abstract The long-term and stable development of agriculture is the key to China's economic development and social stability. Agricultural total factor productivity and the digital economy have become new kinetic energy and new engines driving agricultural high-quality development. It is of great significance to verify whether there are significant spatial and threshold effects in the process of high-quality development of agriculture and to explore the intrinsic relationship between high-quality development of agriculture and agricultural total factor productivity and digital economy. This paper takes 31 provinces in China from 2011 to 2020 as the research object. The coefficient of variation method is used to estimate the comprehensive evaluation index of agricultural high-quality development and digital economy. And Dea-Malmquist index method is used to estimate agricultural total factor productivity. On this basis, the spatial Durbin model and threshold regression model are constructed to explore the spatial and threshold effects of agricultural total factor productivity, digital economy and other factors and high-quality agricultural development. The conclusion is as follows: the high-quality development of agriculture has significant spatial autocorrelation. Agricultural total factor productivity and digital economy have significant direct effect and indirect spillover effect on the high-quality development of agriculture. Agricultural total factor productivity has stage differences in each range of digital economy level, but its influence on agricultural high-quality development shows a positive state. Based on this, the paper puts forward some countermeasures to promote the high-quality development of agriculture.

Abstract Chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH)-triggered blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction is a core pathological change occurring in vascular dementia (VD). Despite the recent advances in the exploration of the structural basis of BBB impairment and the routes of entry of harmful compounds after a BBB leakage, the molecular mechanisms inducing BBB impairment remain largely unknown in terms of VD. Here, we employed a CCH-induced VD model and discovered increased vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM1) expression on the brain endothelial cells (ECs). The expression of VCAM1 was directly correlated with the severity of BBB impairment. Moreover, the VCAM1 expression was associated with different regional white matter lesions. Furthermore, a compound that could block VCAM1 activation, K-7174, was also found to alleviate BBB leakage and protect the white matter integrity, whereas pharmacological manipulation of the BBB leakage did not affect the VCAM1 expression. Thus, our results demonstrated that VCAM1 is an important regulator that leads to BBB dysfunction following CCH. Blocking VCAM1-mediated BBB impairment may thus offer a new strategy to treat CCH-related neurodegenerative diseases.

Abstract Soil food webs are extremely complex as they contain diverse organisms. Feeding preference, also known as prey selection, is an important determinant of soil community compositions. However, the feeding preferences of nematodes are commonly ignored in ecology research. In this paper, the population dynamics and feeding preferences of three bacterial-feeding nematodes (i.e., Caenorhabditis elegans, Protorhabditis spp., and Acrobeloides spp.) for eight bacterial prey species were evaluated. Protorhabditis and Acrobeloides were isolated from a paddy soil in subtropical China. C. elegans, the most common model system for biological research, was used as a control in this study, and it was revealed that C. elegans could feed on all the eight bacteria strains. Protorhabditis could only survive when fed E. coli and Bacillus thuringiensis. Acrobeloides could only survive when fed E. coli and B. aryabhattai. During 10 days of culture, C. elegans populations reached the maximum in 5–7 days, and most C. elegans populations exceeded 10,000 individuals. The two Protorhabditis populations on E. coli and Bacillus thuringiensis included less than 800 individuals during 10 days of culture. Acrobeloides population on B. aryabhattai reached the maximum (7799 individuals) on day 8, while on E. coli was its population included less than 500 individuals. These results indicate that different nematode species indeed have distinct feeding preferences. In addition, the population dynamics of the two soil nematodes isolated from soil could not fully match with their inferred life-history strategies (i.e., cp values, and a 1-5 colonizer-p-ersister series that range from r-strategists to K-strategists). Our findings highlights the existing deficiencies in the understanding of the feeding behavior and the life-history strategies of soil nematodes.

Abstract Forestry production is one of the fundamental industries of the national economy, and enhancing production efficiency can aid in balancing the contradiction between the economic growth of forestry and forest resource conservation. Therefore, studying the coupling coordination between forestry production efficiency and regional economic development is of great practical significance for obtaining the development philosophy of green and circular economies and implementing supply-side structural reform in forestry. In this study, the forestry production efficiencies and economic development levels of 31 provincial-level administrative regions of China during 2009 to 2018 are estimated using the super efficiency slacks-based measure model and the entropy weight method. Additionally, the coupling coordination and development trends of forestry production efficiencies and regional economic development levels are investigated by means of the coupling coordination model and GM (1,1) model. Research findings suggest that forestry production efficiencies and economic development levels of 31 provincial-level administrative regions in China maintained steadily growing trends during 2009 to 2018; however, there was middle to low-level coupling coordination between regions. Such coupling coordination remains to be improved because it indicated a spatial pattern of high in the east and south and low in the west and north. To conclude, some suggestions for promoting sound and coordinated interactions between forestry production efficiency and regional economic development are offered.

Abstract Lithium aluminum layered double hydroxide chlorides (LADH-Cl) have been widely used for lithium extraction from brine. Elevation of the performances of LADH-Cl sorbents urgently requires knowledge of the composition-structure-property relationship of LADH-Cl in lithium extraction applications, but these are still unclear. Herein, combining the phase equilibrium experiments, advanced solid characterization methods, and theoretical calculations, we constructed a cyclic work diagram of LADH-Cl for lithium capture from aqueous solution, where the reversible (de)hydration and (de)intercalation induced phase evolution of LADH-Cl dominates the apparent lithium "adsorption-desorption" behavior. It is found that the real active ingredient in LADH-Cl type lithium sorbents is a dihydrated LADH-Cl with an Al:Li molar ratio varying from 2 to 3. This reversible process indicates an ultimate reversible lithium (de)intercalation capacity of ∼10 mg of Li per g of LADH-Cl. Excessive lithium deintercalation results in the phase structure collapse of dihydrated LADH-Cl to form gibbsite. When interacting with a concentrated LiCl aqueous solution, gibbsite is easily converted into lithium saturated intercalated LADH-Cl phases. By further hydration with a diluted LiCl aqueous solution, this phase again converts to the active dihydrated LADH-Cl. In the whole cyclic progress, lithium ions thermodynamically favor staying in the Al-OH octahedral cavities, but the (de)intercalation of lithium has kinetic factors deriving from the variation of the Al-OH hydroxyl orientation. The present results provide fundamental knowledge for the rational design and application of LADH-Cl type lithium sorbents.

Abstract In order to explore the value of color Doppler ultrasonography (TVCDS) in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of adenomyosis. A total of 150 patients with adenomyosis admitted to a hospital from January 2020 to December 2021 were selected, taking transvaginal three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound for examination, all results were compared with patient pathology or surgical results, in order to compare the accuracy of the two inspection methods. The positive predictive value of three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasonography was higher than that of abdominal ultrasonography, and the difference was statistically significant (

Abstract The widespread distribution of micro(nano)plastics (MNPs) and bisphenols (BPs) in the environment inevitably resulted in their multifaceted interactions and associated detrimental effects being largely uncharted yet. Hence, this review summarized available studies highlighting the environmental occurrence, sorption mechanisms, and eco-toxicological effects of MNPs and BPs. The existing data indicated that the environmental concentrations of the adsorbed bisphenol A (BPA) and bisphenol S (BPS) on MNPs were 9.52–4961 ng/g and 1.89–118 ng/g of plastic particles, respectively, while bisphenol F (BPF) was below the detection limit. Hydrophobic interaction force was predominantly observed as the main factor in maintaining the adsorption of MNPs and BPA/S, whereas electrostatic repulsion between MNPs and BPF inhibited the adsorption of BPF onto plastic particles. Moreover, co-exposure to MNPs and BPs posed immune responses, neurotoxicity, reproductive inhibition and even survival impairment in test organisms. This review implied that it would facilitate the evaluation of the ecological safety and environmental risks of MNPs and BPs as well as contribute to theoretical guidance for their pollution prevention and control. To better understanding the associated toxicological mechanisms, there is an urgent need to assess the combined toxicological effects of MNPs and BPs.

Abstract Background: Adipocytes and their products, adipocytokines, play important roles in the generation and development of multiple myeloma (MM). Studies have demonstrated some adipocytokines to be associated with MM, although those results are controversial. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to verify the association of adipocytokines with MM.
Methods: We performed a systematic retrieval of literature published prior to 26 October 2021. Standardized mean difference (SMD) with a 95% confidence interval (CI) was calculated to evaluate pooled effects. Subgroup analysis and meta-regression analysis were conducted to detect sources of heterogeneity. Sensitivity analysis was performed to evaluate the stability of the study. Publication bias was assessed by funnel plots and Egger's linear regression test.
Results: Ten eligible studies with 1269 MM patients and 2158 controls were included. The pooled analyses indicated that circulating leptin levels of MM patients were significantly higher than control levels (SMD= 0.87, 95%CI: 0.33 to 1.41), while the circulating adiponectin levels in MM patients were significantly lower than controls with a pooled SMD of -0.49 (95%CI: -0.78 to -0.20). The difference of circulating resistin levels were not significant between MM patients and controls (SMD= -0.08, 95%CI: -0.55 to 0.39). Subgroup analysis and meta-regression analysis found that sample size, age, and sex were possible sources of heterogeneity. Sensitivity analysis demonstrated our pooled results to be stable.
Conclusion: Decreased circulating adiponectin and increased leptin levels were associated with the occurrence and development of MM. Adiponectin and leptin may be potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for MM.

Abstract Aquatic ecosystems are facing increasing exposure to pollutants, posing potential threats to the stability and wellness of aquatic species. This study focused on evaluating the impacts of single and combined exposure to 80 nm polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs, 0.1, 1, 10, 20 mg/L) and decabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-209, 300 ng/L) for 14 days on the bioaccumulation, growth, photosynthesis and oxidative stress in the free-floating fern Salvinia natans. PS-NPs primarily accumulated in the epidermis and trichomes of S. natans. Meanwhile, the levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) were significantly increased, while those for peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC), and relative growth rate (RGR) decreased. Furthermore, the chlorophyll contents in submerged leaves were decreased, while those in floating leaves were increased at PS-NPs concentrations of 0.1 and 1 mg/L. However, the chlorophyll contents in both submerged and floating leaves displayed a decreasing trend with increasing concentrations of PS-NPs. Under the co-exposure of PS-NPs and BDE-209, the contents of MDA were significantly elevated, whereas CAT, POD, SOD, T-AOC and RGR were significantly decreased (p < 0.05). Our results revealed that, compared to single exposure, more pronounced ecotoxic effects are observed in S. natans under co-exposure to PS-NPs and BDE-209. These findings offer valuable perspectives into the possible environmental risks of BDE-209 and PS-NPs in freshwater ecosystems, contributing to the development of effective management strategies for protecting aquatic organisms and ecosystems. This research highlights the urgent need to understand the toxic effects of emerging contaminants on different aquatic organisms, emphasizing the importance of protecting and preserving aquatic ecosystems.

Abstract In south China, eucalyptus plantations typically consist of a single-species overstory (a eucalyptus monoculture) and a dense understory of a dominant fern species. In the current study, we assessed the effects of four treatments [control (CK), understory removal (UR), tree removal (TR), and all-plant removal (PR)] on the abundances of soil nematode genera, which can provide insight into the ecological functions of understory plants and trees. Soil nematodes were sampled six times (once before and five times after treatments were implemented) at 0-5 and 5-10 cm soil depths. The temporal dynamics of nematode genera were analyzed by the principle response curves (PRC) method. At 0-5 cm depth, the abundances of most nematode genera rapidly increased shortly after vegetation removal but then gradually decreased; the effects of UR were stronger than the effects of TR. The results might be explained by the pulsed input of plant debris to soil and its subsequent depletion. At 5-10 cm depth, the nematode communities were relatively unaffected by vegetation removal within the first 162 days, but the abundances of most genera sharply decreased on day 258 and then sharply increased on day 379 (the last sampling time). The results indicated that most nematode genera, even
