Abstract Background: Pharmacists are vital to optimizing therapy of people with mental illnesses. Limited knowledge, lack of confidence, and mental health-related stigma can lead to pharmacists' reluctance in the provision of pharmaceutical care to this population. Advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPE) in mental health have been reported as valuable learning opportunities to overcome these challenges.
Aim: This study aimed to explore PharmD graduates' perceived preparedness, attitudes, beliefs, and opinions on influencing factors for the provision of pharmaceutical care to people with mental illnesses after completing an APPE rotation in psychiatry.
Method: All PharmD graduates who had completed a rotation in psychiatry were invited to participate in semi-structured interviews. An interview guide was developed based on a literature review. A total of 11 PharmD graduates agreed to participate in the interviews, which were recorded, transcribed, and analysed inductively using thematic analysis and following a phenomenological approach.
Results: Five themes were identified: Prior familiarity to mental health, opinions on the rotation, views on stigma, rotation's areas of improvement, and the positive impact of the rotation on practice. Although participants started the psychiatric rotation with low confidence and a sense of apprehension, they described their experience as unique, eye-opening, and insightful. Familiarity with mental health conditions before the rotation were perceived as a challenge to achieving full confidence in mental health care provision.
Conclusion: For the most part, the APPE in psychiatry was viewed as a positive opportunity for enhancing the PharmD graduates' insight, knowledge, and skills for pharmaceutical care provision to people with mental illnesses.

Abstract Background: Women with inverted nipples may struggle with breastfeeding and may stop exclusive breastfeeding before six months. The use of an inverted syringe to evert the nipples was successful in achieving high rates of infant latching and exclusive breastfeeding in case series but has not been tested in clinical trials. This open label, parallel group, randomized clinical trial investigated whether the use of the inverted syringe technique in women with inverted nipples would increase exclusive breastfeeding rate at one month, as compared to standard care.
Methods/design: Between June 2018 and January 2020, healthy pregnant women (N=54) with grades 1 or 2 inverted nipples were randomly allocated to standard care or to an experimental group that used the inverted syringe technique to evert the inverted nipple prior to every breastfeeding. The primary outcome measure was the rate of exclusive breastfeeding at one month. Secondary outcomes included the rates of exclusive breastfeeding at three and six months, any breastfeeding at one, three, and six months, nipple eversion, successful infant latching, breastfeeding-associated complications, maternal satisfaction with breastfeeding, maternal quality of life, and adverse events. Descriptive and bivariate analyses were conducted according to the intention to treat principle.
Results: Participants in the experimental group were less likely to be exclusively breastfeeding at one (RR = 0.65, 95% CI: 0.44, 0.95; n = 47), and at three months (RR = 0.66, 95% CI: 0.47, 0.91; n = 45), or to practice any breastfeeding at six months (RR = 0.54, 95% CI: 0.34, 0.87; n = 44). Only 14.3% of women in the experimental group complied with the use of the inverted syringe during the first month. Breast pump and breastfeeding-associated complications were more commonly reported in the control group (p < 0.05 for both). Both groups had similar rates of nipple eversion, successful infant latching, and similar satisfaction with breastfeeding and quality of life issues.
Conclusion: The inverted syringe technique was not associated with improvement in breastfeeding outcomes of women with inverted nipples. Larger clinical trials are needed to confirm our findings.

Abstract Following the heightened damage of marine ecosystems, Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) have been created for the protection and the conservation of species and habitats. However, their implementation requires accurate data availability used by decision makers to enable their boundaries and zoning. Thus, for this purpose of management, a new method of fish assemblages monitoring (FAST—Fish Assemblages Survey Technique) has been tested in Tunisian marine waters. FAST survey was applied between 2011 and 2012 in three areas with various degrees of geomorphological features and human pressures; the future Marine Protected Area of Cap Serrat–Cap Negro and two coastal areas of Hammamet and Bizerte. The depths of the surveyed 11 stations are between 0 and 20 m. The FAST index is calculated seasonally for targeted species according to their presence / absence, and depending on two size classes. In terms of diversity and species richness, differences between sites were observed and results show that FAST method appears to be relevant, easy to implement and accurately reflects the environmental status of the study site. The advantages and shortcomings of this method were discussed.

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has captivated scientific activity since its early days. Particular attention has been dedicated to the identification of underlying dynamics and prediction of future trend. In this work, a switching Kalman filter formalism is applied on dynamics learning and forecasting of the daily new cases of COVID-19. The main feature of this dynamical system is its ability to switch between different linear Gaussian models based on the observations and specified probabilities of transitions between these models. It is thus able to handle the problem of hidden state estimation and forecasting for models with non-Gaussian and nonlinear effects. The potential of this method is explored on the daily new cases of COVID-19 both at the state-level and the country-level in the US. The results suggest a common disease dynamics across states that share certain features. We also demonstrate the ability to make short to medium term predictions with quantifiable error bounds.

Abstract Primary hepatic rhabdomyosarcoma is an exceedingly rare type of sarcomas. A 15-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital with abdominal pain. Serial investigation showed a giant heterogeneous mass, with a diameter of 15 cm, located in the right lobe of the liver (segment 4a, 4b, 5, 6, 7, 8), with clear margins, non-homogeneous density in computerized tomography and the Positron Emission Tomography Scan Multi Slice revealed a peripherally slightly metabolically active hepatic mass (205 × 134 × 208 mm). Histopathological examination and the Immunohistochemical showed embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. The management strategy involved multiple cycles of ifosfamide and doxorubicin and monitoring the tumor size, until the tumor size was suitable for the surgery. The management of hepatic rhabdomyosarcoma is a surgical challenge due to the late onset of symptoms, a limited number of reported cases, and poor prognosis. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice for primary hepatic rhabdomyosarcoma and combination between chemotherapy, surgery showed good results.

Abstract Introduction YouTube, the world's largest video platform, hosts thousands of educational surgical videos that many trainees rely on to enhance their understanding and proficiency in various surgical procedures. Consequently, a crucial inquiry arises regarding the trustworthiness of these videos as a valuable resource for these trainees. In this article, we address this question by focusing on one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in the field of urology and assessing the effectiveness of these videos as an educational tool for urology trainees (ST3+: Specialty Training Year 3 and above). Methodology We conducted a comprehensive search on YouTube for all videos related to 'Testicular Exploration'. After applying specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, we identified a total of nine eligible videos for analysis. These videos were assessed using the LAParoscopic Surgery Video Educational GuidelineS (LAP-VEGaS) scoring system, which categorized them into two distinct groups. The first group, known as the 'high-quality group', included videos that scored 11 points or higher according to the LAP-VEGaS scoring criteria. The second group, termed the 'low-quality group', consisted of videos that scored less than 11 points using the LAP-VEGaS scoring tool. Additionally, we collected data on various metrics, such as video view counts, duration, likes and dislikes counts, comments count, like ratio, view ratio, and power index, and performed a comparative analysis between the two aforementioned groups. Results  Between April 2013 and September 2023, the selected videos exhibited an average total view count of 95,546±138,000. The videos had an average duration of 6.35±2.26 minutes. Furthermore, the mean values for both likes and dislikes were 461.55±581 and 2.89±2.86, respectively. In contrast, the mean like ratio, view ratio, and power index were 0.98±0.0112, 176,00±13,100, and 173.80±131, respectively. The mean LAP-VEGaS scores for videos related to testicular exploration were 9.94±2.05. It is noteworthy that the first group had a statistically higher number of dislikes; however, the view count, comments count, likes count, and view ratio were statistically lower in the same group. Conclusion Videos related to testicular exploration on YouTube exhibit notably low quality and do not serve as a valuable resource for urology trainees. Key factors such as video duration, total view count, and viewer interactions (including likes, dislikes, and comments) should not be relied upon as indicators of educational video quality. Consequently, it is advisable for urology trainees to refrain from using YouTube as a primary source for learning about testicular exploration. Instead, they should seek guidance and support from experienced senior colleagues, educational supervisors, or consultants to explore more reliable sources of information for this surgical procedure.

Abstract Prostate cancer is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer among men worldwide, and it represents a substantial worldwide health issue, primarily impacting men as they grow older. Understanding its epidemiology and etiology is crucial for crafting efficient preventive measures and enhancing treatment results. The epidemiology of this disease provides valuable insights into its prevalence and distribution. Age is a critical factor, with the risk of prostate cancer increasing with advancing years. Incidence rates are notably higher in developed countries, suggesting a role for lifestyle and environmental factors. Furthermore, there are significant racial and geographical disparities in prostate cancer incidence, with African-American men experiencing both a higher incidence and more aggressive forms of the disease. On the other hand, hormones, especially testosterone and its conversion to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), contribute to prostate cell growth and, potentially, cancer. Genetics also plays a pivotal role, with certain gene mutations, like Breast Cancer gene 1 & 2 (BRCA1 and BRCA2), elevating risk. Dietary habits and lifestyle choices influence susceptibility, with diets low in fruits and vegetables and high in saturated fats linked to higher risk. Chronic inflammation, often tied to prostatitis, may further increase susceptibility to prostate cancer. This review article explores the complex realm of prostate cancer, providing insights into its occurrence, factors that elevate risks, and the fundamental factors that play a role in its emergence and how we can prevent it.

Abstract The biofilm lifestyle of bacterial pathogens is a hallmark of chronic lung infections such as in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. Bacterial adaptation to the complex conditions in CF-affected lungs and repeated antibiotherapies lead to increasingly tolerant and hard-to-treat biofilms. In the context of growing antimicrobial resistance and restricted therapeutic options, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) shows great promise as an alternative to conventional antimicrobial modalities. Typically, aPDT consists in irradiating a non-toxic photosensitizer (PS) to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), which kill pathogens in the surrounding environment. In a previous study, we reported that some ruthenium (II) complexes ([Ru(II)]) can mediate potent photodynamic inactivation (PDI) against planktonic cultures of

Abstract Mucus is a complex polymeric hydrogel that serves as a critical defense in several organs. In the lungs, it provides a formidable barrier against inhaled particles such as microorganisms. In addition, mucus is essential for normal lung physiology, as it promotes immune tolerance and facilitates a normal commensal pulmonary microbiome. Hypersecretion of airway mucus is a characteristic of numerous respiratory diseases, such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Cystic Fibrosis (CF), and creates pulmonary obstruction, limiting the effectiveness of inhaled therapies. Due to those alterations, therapeutic strategies must be optimal to limit airway obstruction and restore pulmonary function. Mucoactive drugs are common therapeutic options and are classified into different groups depending on their modes of action, i.e., expectorants, mucokinetics, mucoregulators and mucolytics. This review focuses on mucoactive drugs and their modes of action. A special focus will be made on two challenging pulmonary pathologies: COPD and CF, and on their clinical studies conducted with mucoactive drugs.
