Abstract Due to the anatomical specificity of esophagus, esophagectomy can be carried out using different approaches, such as left transthoracic, right transthoracic and transhiatal approaches. Each surgical approach is associated with a different prognosis due to the complex anatomy. The left transthoracic approach is no longer the primary choice due to its limitations in providing adequate exposure, lymph node dissection, and resection. The right transthoracic approach is capable of achieving a larger number of dissected lymph nodes and is currently considered the preferred procedure for radical resection. Although the transhiatal approach is less invasive, it could be challenging to perform in a limited operating space and has not been widely adopted in clinical practice. Minimally invasive esophagectomy offers a wider range of surgical options for treating esophageal cancer. This paper reviews different approaches to esophagectomy.

Abstract Introduction: The kangaroo mother care (KMC) technique for preterm and low-birthweight (LBW) neonates, which consists of skin-to-skin contact, is thought to have a beneficial impact on clinical outcomes. Hence, the current meta-analysis aims to evaluate the influence of KMC on neonatal mortality and length of hospitalization compared with conventional care.
Material and methods: A systematic literature search of studies published between 1988 and 2021 found 24 trials involving 19,980 participants, of which 10,354 received KMC and 9626 were controls under conventional care. To measure the impact of applying KMC in preterm LBW neonates on mortality and the length of hospital stay, statistical analysis using dichotomous and continuous analysis methods was performed employing fixed and random models to calculate odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs).
Results: Compared to the control group, the application of KMC in preterm LBW neonates resulted in significantly lower mortality (OR: 0.65, 95% CI: 0.44-0.97, p = 0.03) in a short term (within 2 months, I2 = 71%) and long term (3-12 months) (OR: 0.72, 95% CI: 0.59-0.87, p = 0.0007, I2 = 0%), and had no significant impact on the length of hospital stay (OR: -1.43, 95% CI: -2.88-0.02, p = 0.05, I2 = 86%).
Conclusion: In comparison with the control group, the implementation of KMC in preterm LBW neonates resulted in significantly lower mortality but had no significant impact on the length of hospitalization. More studies are needed to confirm the current findings.

Abstract This article reviews the development and progress in the field of limb salvage treatment, surgical techniques, and function reconstruction of pelvic malignant tumors in China in the past 30 years. Based on the surgical classification of pelvic tumor resection in different parts, the development of surgical techniques and bone defect repair and reconstruction methods were described in detail. In recent years, in view of the worldwide problem of biological reconstruction after pelvic tumor resection, Chinese researchers have systematically proposed the repair and reconstruction methods and prosthesis design for bone defects after resection of different parts for the first time in the world. In addition, a systematic surgical classification (Beijing classification) was first proposed for the difficult situation of pelvic tumors involving the sacrum, as well as the corresponding surgical plan and repair and reconstruction methods. Through unremitting efforts, the limb salvage rate of pelvic malignant tumors in China has reached more than 80%, which has preserved limbs and restored walking function for the majority of patients, greatly reduced surgical complications, and achieved internationally remarkable results.

Abstract With the rapid development of modern medicine, significant stride has been achieved in the field of bone and soft tissue tumor in China. The early efforts in the treatment of bone tumor led to the foundation of Bone Tumor Group of Chinese Medical Association in 1985, which marked the initial formation of standardized diagnosis and treatment of bone tumor.Since then, the guidelines of diagnosis and treatment of bone tumor were widely spread and obeyed. The gradually evolution of limb-salvage technique, the improved en-bloc resection procedure in spine and pelvis tumor, the effective bleeding control measure have made concrete basis for higher survival rate, better functional status and life quality for patients than before. With new breakthroughs in the field of molecular biology and immunology, the development in stereotactic radiation and combination of new material and mega-data with medicine, the treatment of bone tumor is entering a new era of precision and personalized medicine.

Abstract Global warming poses an ever-increasing threat to human health, with heat-related illnesses affecting economically underdeveloped tropical regions, posing new challenges to Chinese foreign medical aid work in Africa. By improving the professional ability of foreign aid medical team members and paying attention to the prevention and treatment of heat-related illnesses, they can provide better medical services for recipient countries and Chinese migrant workers in Africa while ensuring their safety.

Abstract With the development of science and technology, system management is gradually applied to tourism management. How to correctly assess the security risks of the tourism management system has become an important means to maintain passenger information. The security risk index of the travel management system is input into the PSO-BP network as a sample, and the corresponding risk value of the index is used as the network output. The results show that the error results, accuracy (96.53%), training time (216 s), number of iterations (275 times), and convergence speed are all better than traditional BP network. The relative error of PSO-BP network (0.32%) is better than that of BP network, with 300 iterations, and the error is close to 10-5. The average evaluation accuracy of

Abstract ADAMTS18 has been identified as an orphan member of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs) family of Zn-dependent secreted metalloproteinases since 2002. Despite the recent breakthroughs in tumor biology of ADAMTS18, there is no literature systematically discussing the relationship between ADAMTS18 and cancer. In this review, we will summarize the expression pattern and prognostic value of ADAMTS18 in various cancers. In addition, we will highlight the biological functions of ADAMTS18 in the tumor microenvironment, including the regulation of cell proliferation signals, death patterns, invasion, and migration, which influence cancer progression.
