Abstract Cadaveric dissection is a unique and unrivalled educational tool that allows students in medicine and associated life sciences to explore spatial three-dimensional anatomy, principles of structure and related function, and anatomical variations, including pathological alterations. Human tissue dissection enables researchers to comprehend the variety that exists in life that cannot be appreciated through the literature or artificial specimens. Using cadavers is the best way to simulate surgical and anatomical teaching. A cadaver has been shown to imitate surgical and anatomical training better than any other existing method. By the use of soft embalming approaches, cadavers have become more realistic and training-friendly. The main aim of this review is to describe various innovative and recent cadaver preservation techniques in detail, which can help anatomists to modify the techniques in their institute for gross anatomy teaching and surgical training or workshops to get a lifelike cadaver.

Abstract A long history of empirical research has focused on testing whether and when household consumption and production decisions are separable. If markets were perfect, household consumption would be independent of production. In this article, we propose that market channel choice complicates this relationship. Our analysis of household panel data from rural India, focusing on dairy, leads us to four key conclusions. First, milk consumption is correlated with production, and markets are not a complete substitute for household production. Second, a large presence of formal milk buyers in a village is associated with lower milk consumption in dairy households, overturning the positive association of participation in formal value chains with household milk consumption. Third, contrary to expectations, for households that do not own dairy animals and net buyers, the presence of formal value chains remains uncorrelated with milk consumption. Fourth, we infer, test for and find suggestive evidence of segmented milk markets, that is, different types of households participate in different markets for milk that do not seem to interact with each other. Policymakers focused on market development or production-based strategies need to factor in the possibility of market segmentation based on market channels while designing interventions.

Abstract Background: Suicide is major public health issue worldwide. The educational interventions in enhancing the knowledge, modifying the attitudes, and raising the competence levels of healthcare professionals to prevent suicides have shown positive results. However, these education programs are under-evaluated, especially in India.
Aim: The aim was to evaluate the effect on suicide prevention and management-related knowledge among nursing staff, attitudes, and competence for suicidal patients and their family members.
Methods: A brief suicide educational intervention training program was prepared for the study participants. The outcomes of this study were evaluated through a single group pre-test-post-test questionnaire.
Result: The mean age of the participants was 28.74 ± 5.73 years. Participants reported significant improvement in their attitude and knowledge about suicide after attending the training program.
Conclusion: Empowering primary health care staff including nurses to identify, assess, manage, and refer the suicidal person should be considered as an important step in suicide prevention.

Abstract Developmental screening is challenging in both developed countries and developing countries. An estimated 10% of children experience developmental delay leading to disability in India. Unfortunately, the Indian literature is limited regarding early identification and intervention of developmental delays in youngsters, given multiple barriers in implementing screening. Quick screening tools can easily be integrated into the routine work-up of infants and young children in the primary health-care system and the literature has shown the efficiency of early identification and intervention for children born with high-risk profiles. Therefore, validated screening tools may improve the early identification of developmental delay in young children, further enhancing the clinical outcome of children with developmental delays. India introduced the first development screening tool in 1991, the Baroda Development Screening Test (BDST), followed by Developmental Assessment Scale for Indian Infants (DASII), Trivandrum Development Screening Chart (TDSC). Indian researchers have adapted few development screening tools from standardized tools available from Western countries. This review highlights the different screening tools adapted in India, psychometric properties and adapted items to the gold standard, critical appraisal of most commonly used screening tools and description on strengths and limitations. The goal is to help clinicians understand the rationale behind each tool and the different domains evaluated as per the child's needs.

Abstract Childhood obesity is multi factorial health condition, so the simple evaluation of body fat will not be sufficed to manage the global epidemic of childhood obesity. Literature consistently provides evidence for physical health risks associated with childhood obesity; however in recent times, mental health of the obese children has also gained attention of the researchers as well as clinicians. Obese children experience number of psycho-social problems that significantly affect their quality of life and wellbeing. Co-morbid psychosocial and emotional problems of obesity generally act as causal or maintaining factors of obesity and thus significantly affect the treatment outcome. Therefore it becomes imperative for the clinicians/pediatricians to broaden their clinical assessment and include screening of important psycho-social factors within the clinical examination of childhood obesity. This article provides an evidence based comprehensive overview about the psychological factors and psychiatric factors (depression, anxiety, eating disorder, stress, body shape concerns, low self esteem) associated with childhood obesity that can further be utilized in the evaluation and management of this epidemic. The article also elaborates the role of current evidence based psychological approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for management of obesity in children and adolescents. CBT techniques combined with lifestyle intervention and involving parents have been recommended by literature repetitively. However, there are a number of environmental, familial and personal barriers that hinder the whole process of weight loss in children. The article also discusses potential strategies to overcome those barriers.

Abstract A simple, highly efficient method for synthesis of 1,3-dihydrofuro[3,4-b]quinoline is described by the reaction of o-arylalkynyl quinoline aldehydes with Na₂S·9H₂O via domino reduction approach. The method is simple and proceeds under mild condition under an air atmosphere to give 1,3-dihydrofuro[3,4-b]quinoline in good to excellent yields. The beauty of the reaction is cyclization as well as reduction has been taken place in the same reaction pot. Also the conversion of aldehyde into primary alcohol has been discussed under the same reaction condition.
