Abstract The aim of this study was to examine the effect of built environment (BE) elements on older people’s (OP) leisure-time physical activity (LTPA) and leisure-time walking (LTW) level in the city of Ningbo. Older participants numbering 312 were randomly recruited using cross-sectional survey in 2019. International Physical Activity Questionnaire-short version (IPAQ-S) and Neighborhood Environment Walkability Scale—abbreviated (NEWS-A)—were used to gather LTPA data and the perceive scores of BE, respectively. Liner regression analysis was performed to investigate the association relationship between the perceived scores of BE and OP’s LTW and LTPA. The study’s results showed that, when not considering different sex groups, OP’s LTW was significantly related with the perceived scores of access to services (AE, p = 0.045), walking/cycling facilities (W/CF, p = 0.007), aesthetics, and land use mix diversity (LUMD, p = 0.04). OP’s LTPA was significantly related with AE ( p = 0.04) and aesthetics ( p < 0.001). The association relationships of BE with LTW and LTPA varied in different sex groups. Three elements (AE, W/CF, and LUMD) and one element (pedestrian/traffic safety and P/TS) of BE were found be related with older male and older female’s LTW, respectively. One element (aesthetics) and two elements (aesthetics, LUMD) of BE were found be related with older male and older female’s LTPA, respectively. The results indicated that the effects of BE on OP’s LTW and the effects of BE on OP’s LTPA were different. The effect also varied in different sex groups. More studies are needed to confirm the effect of BE on OP’s LTW and LTPA in different sex groups to globally enrich the scientific data base.

Abstract Since 1949, land compensation and allocation standards for rural resettlers in China have gradually improved. However, the land allocation standards that local governments promised or that were stipulated by policy were not met in practice. The factors that led to implementation gaps included the development outlook of the central government, the will of resettlers, the execution ability of the local government and the attitudes of residents in the host villages. To meet land-based resettlement goals, the government should raise the land compensation standards, and residents in the host village should share the benefits of the project.

Abstract This article examines the planning, implementation and effects of resettlement for the Danjiangkou Dam Heightening Project. In the process of planning, the local government took full account of the long-term development of resettlers. In the process of implementation, resettlers could obtain compensation, subsidy, follow-up support and counterpart support. Their living and production conditions greatly improved after resettlement. The following factors contributed to successful resettlement: a development model of industry supporting agriculture; commitment of the central government; adequate funding; sound organizational systems; efficient government management mechanisms at various levels; and the favourable geographical location of the resettlement site.

Abstract Abstract Herein, a simple one‐pot way is designed to prepare a type of multifunctional metal–organic framework (MOF)‐based hybrid nanogels by in situ hybridization of dopamine monomer in the skeleton of MnCo. The resultant hybrid nanoparticles (named as MCP) show enhanced photothermal conversion efficiency in comparison with pure polydopamine or MnCo nanoparticles (NPs) synthesized under a similar method and, therefore, show great potential for photothermal therapy (PTT) in vivo. The MCP NPs are expected to possess T 1 positive magnetic resonance imaging ability due to the high‐spin Mn‐N6 (S = 5/2) in the skeleton of MnCo. To improve the therapy efficiency as a PTT agent, the MCP NPs are further modified with functional polyethylene glycol (PEG) and thiol terminal cyclic arginine–glycine–aspartic acid peptide, respectively: the first one is to increase the stability, biocompatibility, and blood circulation time of MCP NPs in vivo; the second one is to increase the tumor accumulation of MCP‐PEG NPs and improve their therapeutic efficiency as photothermal agent.

Abstract Phothermal therapy has received increasing attention in recent years as a potentially effective way to treat cancer. In pursuit of a more biocompatible photothermal agent, we utilize biosafe materials including ellagic acid (EA), polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), and iron element as building blocks, and we successfully fabricate a homogeneous nanosized Fe-EA framework for the first time by a facile method. As expected, the novel nanoagent exhibits no obvious cytotoxicity and good hemocompatibility in vitro and in vivo. The microenvironment responsiveness to both pH and hydrogen peroxide makes the NPs biodegradable in tumor tissues, and the framework should be easily cleared by the body. Photothermal potentials of the nanoparticles are demonstrated with relevant features of strong NIR light absorption, moderately effective photothermal conversion efficiency, and good photothermal stability. The in vivo photothermal therapy also achieved effective tumor ablation with no apparent toxicity. On the other hand, it also exhibits T2 MR imaging ability originated from ferric ions. Our work highlights the promise of the Fe-EA framework for imaging-guided photothermal therapy.

Abstract To investigate the topological properties of the functional connectivity and their relationships with cognition impairment in subcortical vascular cognitive impairment (SVCI) patients, resting-state fMRI and graph theory approaches were employed in 23 SVCI patients and 20 healthy controls. Functional connectivity between 90 brain regions was estimated using bivariate correlation analysis and thresholded to construct a set of undirected graphs. Moreover, all of them were subjected to a battery of cognitive assessment, and the correlations between graph metrics and cognitive performance were further analyzed. Our results are as follows: functional brain networks of both SVCI patients and controls showed small-world attributes over a range of thresholds(0.15≤sparsity≤0.40). However, global topological organization of the functional brain networks in SVCI was significantly disrupted, as indicated by reduced global and local efficiency, clustering coefficients and increased characteristic path lengths relative to normal subjects. The decreased activity areas in SVCI predominantly targeted in the frontal-temporal lobes, while subcortical regions showed increased topological properties, which are suspected to compensate for the inefficiency of the functional network. We also demonstrated that altered brain network properties in SVCI are closely correlated with general cognitive and praxis dysfunction. The disruption of whole-brain topological organization of the functional connectome provides insight into the functional changes in the human brain in SVCI.

Abstract Quinolone resistance in members of the Enterobacteriaceae family is mostly due to mutations in the quinolone resistance-determining regions of topoisomerase genes. CTX-M-22 is a member of the CTX-M family which can reduce extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) production and modulate antibiotic resistance, resulting in low ceftazidime minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs). There are four different genes in Klebsiella pneumoniae (KP4707) including qnrB32 (novel qnr allele gene, HQ704413), aac(6’)-Ib-cr (novel aac(6’)-Ib allele gene, HQ680690), gyrA (novel gyrA allele gene, HQ680691) and CTX-M-22 gene. Five point amino acid mutations Arn(N)27 → Leu(L), Val(V)129 → Ala(A), Iie(I)142 → Met(M), Gly(G)188 → Arg(R), Val(V)212 → Iie(I) were observed in the qnr32 gene when compared to qnrB1. Of all qnrB alleles, a novel variant of the qnrB32 gene, with qnrB31, had the highest amino acid homology. Three point amino acid mutations including Trp(W)105 → Arg(R), Asp(D)182 → Tyr(Y) and Val(V)201 → Asp(D) were observed in aac(6’)-Ib-cr gene, when compared to GenBank number AF479774. New variants of qnr32, aac(6’)-Ib-cr, gyrA and CTX-M-22 or other genotype determinants continuously appear in different genomic sites and also outside the Enterobacteriaceae family.
