Abstract Chiral organophosphorus pollutants are found abundantly in the environment, but the neurotoxicity risks of these asymmetric chemicals to human health have not been fully assessed. Using cellular, molecular, and computational toxicology methods, this story is to explore the static and dynamic toxic actions and its stereoselective differences of chiral isocarbophos toward SH-SY5Y nerve cells mediated by acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and further dissect the microscopic basis of enantioselective neurotoxicity. Cell-based assays indicate that chiral isocarbophos exhibits strong enantioselectivity in the inhibition of the survival rates of SH-SY5Y cells and the intracellular AChE activity, and the cytotoxicity of (

Abstract Elimination of U(VI) from polluted solutions is important for human health and environmental safety. In this work, a relatively low-cost 3D flower-like phosphate-functionalized layered double hydroxides (phos-LDH) was fabricated by a one-pot hydrothermal method. The prepared phos-LDH inherited the structure of 3D flower-like layered double hydroxides (LDH), and had a higher specific surface area (∼203.4 m²⋅g⁻¹) than that of LDH. The kinetic process indicated that U(VI) adsorption onto phos-LDH achieved equilibrium within 15 min and obeyed general order model. The adsorption isotherms of phos-LDH illustrated that the U(VI) adsorption obeyed Langmuir model, the adsorption capability of phos-LDH can reach 923.1 mg⋅g⁻¹ at 298 K. The U(VI) adsorption was a spontaneous and endothermic process according to the thermodynamic data. There was the electrostatic attraction between U(VI) and phos-LDH at pH = 5.0. FTIR and XPS analyses educed that the hydroxyl and phosphate groups played a very useful role for the complexation between U(VI) and phos-LDH. In addition, the excellent selective adsorption capability for U(VI) in competitive cation and anion solutions further confirmed the practical application of phos-LDH in real wastewater treatment.

Abstract Nitrate (NO₃⁻) contamination has become a dominant international problem in the aquatic environment, so identifying the sources and transformations of NO₃⁻ is the basis for improving water quality. Since the Jing River is the largest tributary of the Wei River, to understand its water quality, this study collected surface water samples from the Shaanxi section of the Jing River during the dry season. The potential sources of NO₃⁻ were analyzed by hydrochemical and bi-isotopic methods, and the SIAR model was used to estimate the proportional contribution of each source. Results indicated that NO₃⁻-N was the main form of inorganic nitrogen in this area, and the average total nitrogen content was 10.23 mg·L⁻¹, which showed that nitrogen pollution was highly serious; the transformation process of nitrogen in this study area was mainly nitrification; The results of Bayesian model showed that manure and sewage contributed to the most NO₃⁻ (64.39%) in the dry season, followed by soil nitrogen, which was 26.35%. These results help to adopt better nitrogen management measures to meet the national environmental quality standards for surface water.

Abstract The Fe3O4@SiO2 paramagnetic Janus particles with phenyl groups and amino groups segmented on two different sides were fabricated by the Pickering emulsion method. Then, the poly(ionic liquid)s were selectively modified onto the amino side via in situ induced ATRP polymerization. Different anions were introduced onto the poly(ionic liquid)s region by exchanging anions to adjust the wettability of the side. Meanwhile, after the PW12O403– anions were employed, the poly(ionic liquid)-modified Fe3O4@SiO2 Janus particles can be used as a catalytic solid emulsifier and degraded water-soluble dyes with the aid of stabilizing emulsion.
