Abstract A domino one-pot synthesis of 2-(trifluoromethyl) benzothiazole via copper-mediated three-component cascade reaction starting from the easily accessible starting materials such as o-iodoanilines, methyl trifluoropyruvate, and elemental sulfur is reported. The present strategy displayed a comprehensive substrate scope and good functional group tolerance and enabled access to a variety of substituted 2-(trifluoromethyl) benzothiazoles. A 2-(trifluoromethyl) benzoselenazole has also been synthesized utilizing this reaction methodology.

Abstract Natural nacre's hierarchical brick-and-mortar architecture motivates intensive studies on inorganic platelet/polymer multilayer composites, targeting mechanical property enhancement only by two strategies: optimizing the size and alignment of inorganic platelets and improving the interfacial interaction between inorganic platelets and polymers. Herein, a new strategy of polymer chain orientation to enhance the property of bioinspired multilayered composites is presented, which facilitates more stress to be transferred from polymer layers to inorganic platelets by simultaneous stiffening of multiple polymer chains. To this end, bioinspired multilayer films consisting of oriented sodium carboxymethyl cellulose chains and alumina platelets are designed and fabricated by three successive steps of water evaporation-induced gelation in glycerol, high-ratio prestretching, and Cu

Abstract Intrauterine devices (IUDs) are the most popular form of contraception globally; however, the use of IUDs carries some risks. IUD migration is a rare but serious complication that occurs after insertion, sometimes years later. Herein, we report 3 cases of translocated IUDs removed by endoscopy and describe the clinical characteristics and intraoperative findings of these patients. Case 1 was a 46-year-old woman who presented with upper abdominal pain. Gastroscopy showed the presence of an IUD inside the stomach. Digestive endoscopy performed at our hospital showed a T-shaped foreign body embedded in the gastric wall at the junction between the gastric antrum and the gastric body. The IUD was removed endoscopically without complications. Case 2 was a 36-year-old woman who had twice undergone cesarean section. Two months before presenting at our hospital, the patient experienced external hemorrhoid. During anal suppository treatment, she felt a lump inside the rectum. Pelvic computed tomography revealed a small, circular dense shadow with an approximate diameter of 0.4 cm in the upper intestinal cavity of the rectum. Subsequently, the patient received transanal endoscopy and rectal foreign-body removal surgery. Case 3 was a 40-year-old woman. She had failed to remove an IUD in other 2 hospitals. On the basis of pelvic computed tomography, the IUD was suspected to have perforated the bladder. Cystoscopy showed that part of the IUD was surrounded by stones. Laser lithotripsy was performed to expose the IUD completely. Under hysteroscopy, the IUD could be seen in the middle of the uterine cavity; 1 end was located on the right uterine horn, and the other was protruding out of the uterus. During the operation, the IUD was broken into two parts and one part was removed through the vagina. The cystoscope was placed again, and the remaining part of the IUD was smoothly removed. Although IUD migration has a low incidence, it can have a huge impact on patients' physical and emotional health. Migrated IUDs must be removed immediately. Hysteroscopy and digestive endoscopy are effective approaches for removing migrated IUDs.

Abstract Colorectal cancer (CRC) in pregnancy is rare. The clinical manifestations of CRC during pregnancy are not specific, and diagnosis and treatment pose a significant challenge. Patients are often found to have advanced tumors, and have a poor prognosis. In this case study, the patient was 36 years old, and had no obvious clinical manifestations in the first and second trimesters. Since gestational week 38, she experienced left upper abdominal pain and constipation, with no nausea or vomiting. Imaging examinations revealed malignant tumors of the sigmoid colon (colon cancer was highly suspected), multiple liver metastases, omental metastases, and multiple swollen lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity. After discussion, the patient received lower cesarean section. A large amount of hematochezia with a volume of approximately 1,000 mL occurred 8 days after the operation. In the emergency department, superior and inferior mesenteric angiography was performed, and the inferior mesenteric artery was continuously pumped with pituitrin to stop bleeding. After the condition was stabilized, she underwent surgery for radical sigmoid resection and colon single-cavity fistula. During the operation, light bloody ascites were observed inside the abdominal pelvis, approximately 500 mL, with multiple touchable stiff metastatic nodules in the liver. At the side of the sigmoid mesocolon, a giant tumor of approximately 12 cm diameter was found, continued by the intestinal wall, and the sigmoid mesocolon was almost occupied by the tumor. The mesentery was hard to recognize, with possible movement of the tumor, and no sign of infiltration into the abdominal pelvic wall or adnexa. The surgical pathological stage was Dukes' stage D, which was an advanced tumor. Postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapy were not performed, and the patient died of systemic multiple organ failure 32 days after colon cancer surgery (postpartum day 43). So for patients with digestive system symptoms during pregnancy, CRC should be considered in differential diagnosis. Auxiliary examinations should be actively carried out to strive early diagnosis and treatment to improve patient prognosis.

Abstract Background: The recurrence and mortality rates of bladder cancer are extremely high, and its diagnosis and treatment are global concerns. The mechanism of anoikis is closely related to tumor metastasis.
Methods: First, we obtained all the data needed for this study from a public database through a formal operational process. The data were then analyzed by bioinformatics technology. Through the limma package, we screened and obtained 313 anoikis-related genes [false discovery rate (FDR) <0.05, |log fold change (FC) | >0.585]. Then, through univariate independent prognostic analysis, we further screened 146 genes (P<0.05) related to the prognosis of bladder cancer from 313 differential genes. These 146 prognostically relevant differential genes were used for least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression for further screening to obtain model-related genes and output model formulas. Through the nomogram, we can calculate the survival rate of patients more accurately. The accuracy of the nomogram was also confirmed by calibration curves, independent prognostic analysis, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, decision curve analysis (DCA) curves. We then analysed the sensitivity of immunotherapy in bladder cancer patients with different risk scores via Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion (TIDE).
Results: Through bioinformatics technology and public databases, a prognostic model including 9 anoikis-related genes (
Conclusions: In this study, a prognostic model that can accurately predict the prognosis of patients with bladder cancer was constructed.

Abstract Background: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is a malignant kidney tumour and its progression is associated with the renin secretion pathway, so this study aimed to develop a prognostic model based on renin secretion pathway-related genes.
Methods: First, 453 renin secretion pathway-related genes were acquired [|log fold change (FC)| >1.5, false discovery rate (FDR) <0.05] from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) databases. The data were combined and further screened for 188 genes associated with ccRCC prognosis (P<0.05) by univariate independent prognostic analysis. These genes were subjected to least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression to identify potential prognostic genes to construct the prognostic model. The stability of the model was externally validated. Combined risk scores and clinical information were used to create nomograms to accurately reflect patient survival. The model-related genes were further mined for subsequent analysis.
Results: A prognostic model of six renin secretion pathway genes (
Conclusions: The prognostic model of ccRCC based on six renin secretion pathway-related genes can be used to guide the precise treatment of ccRCC patients.

Abstract An in situ Schiff-base condensation between p-phthalaldehyde (PPD) and 1,3,5-tris(4-aminophenyl)benzene (TAPB) or 1,3,5-tris(4-aminophenyl)triazine (TAPT) was actualized in the presence of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), producing imine-linked hyperbranched poly(PPD-TAPB) and poly(PPD-TAPT)-coated CNTs (abbreviated as CNT@HBP-1 and CNT@HBP-2, respectively). Such quasi-1D core–shell heterostructures are interleaved to build robust 3D networks with porous internal channels, which are favorable for efficient electron transport and ion diffusion, exposing active sites, fast redox kinetics, and high electrochemical utilization. When used as Li-ion anodes, both CNT@HBP-1 and CNT@HBP-2 exhibit larger specific capacity, better rate performance, and higher cycling stability compared to their pure polymers. Furthermore, CNT@HBP-2 delivers higher reversible capacities of 351 mA h g−1 at 0.05 A g−1, and 81 mA h g−1 at 1.0 A g−1, respectively, compared to CNT@HBP-1 (335 and 56 mA h g−1). Besides, CNT@HBP-2 retains 268 mA h g−1 over 100 cycles at 0.1 A g−1, and 617 mA h g−1 in the 500th cycles at 0.5 A g−1, respectively, outperforming CNT@HBP-1 (155 and 256 mA h g−1). Further improvements in the electrochemical performance for CNT@HBP-2 relative to CNT@HBP-1 are attributable to the incorporation of additional redox-active triazine units into HBP-2. This work would unlock insights into the rational development of metal-free polymer-based electrodes for rechargeable batteries.

Abstract A Gram-stain-negative, motile, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain LAM2020ᵀ, was isolated from a sulfonylurea herbicides-degrading bacterial consortium. The optimal temperature and pH for the growth of strain LAM2020ᵀ were 30 °C and 7.0, respectively. Strain LAM2020ᵀ formed a distinct phylogenetic subclade within the genus Cedecea in the phylogenetic trees built with 16S rRNA gene sequences and shared the highest similarity with Cedecea davisae DSM 4568ᵀ (98.4%). The values of digital DNA–DNA hybridization and average nucleotide identity (ANI) based on the genome sequences between LAM2020ᵀ and C. davisae DSM 4568ᵀ were 22.7% and 80.0%, respectively. It contained 54.0 mol% of G + C in the genomic DNA. The major cellular fatty acids of strain LAM2020ᵀ were summed feature 3 (C₁₆:₁ ω6c and/or C₁₆:₁ ω7c), C₁₆:₀ and summed feature 8 (C₁₈:₁ ω7c/C₁₈:₁ ω6c). The major polar lipids present in strain LAM2020ᵀ were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and aminophospholipid. The respiratory quinone of strain LAM2020ᵀ was ubiquinone-8 and ubiquinone-7. Based on the phenotypic characteristics, chemotaxonomic data and genotypic analyses, strain LAM2020ᵀ should be classified as a novel species of genus Cedecea, for which the name Cedecea sulfonylureivorans sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is LAM2020ᵀ (= GDMCC 1.2363ᵀ = JCM 34640ᵀ).
