Abstract In order to analyze the effect of EPOC on serum microRNA expression in patients with hypertension, we have carried out an experimental evaluation and presented a dedicated method to improve its effectiveness. For this purpose, 60 patients with hypertension treated in our hospital from January to December 2020 were selected and randomly divided into the EPOC group (30 cases) and the control group (30 cases). Patients in both groups received conventional hypertension medication according to the treatment guidelines, and education and guidance were strengthened to ensure patients’ drug compliance. The EPOC group received EPOC training in addition to conventional medication. After the intervention, 6MWD, LVEF, and LVEDD in the control group and the EPOC group were significantly improved compared with that before treatment (P < 0.05). The improvement of cardiac function in the EPOC group was significantly better than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Physiological function, physiological characteristics, body pain, and general health of the control group and the EPOC group were significantly improved compared with that before treatment (P < 0.05). The improvement of quality of life in the EPOC group was significantly better than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The indexes of heart rate, oxygen pulse, minute ventilation, oxygen uptake in kg, and anaerobic threshold in the EPOC group were significantly better than those in the control group before and after treatment (P < 0.05). Full-sample real-time PCR verification of the 8 miRNAs with the highest expression differentiation showed that, compared with the control group, the expression levels of miR-20a-5p, miR-93-5p, and miR-1287-5p in the serum of the EPOC group were significantly increased, while the expression levels of miR-7706, miR-28-5p, and miR-125b-5p were significantly decreased. The expression of miR-20a-5p was the highest, while the expression of miR-125b-5p was the lowest, suggesting that miR-20a-5p and miR-125b-5p might be ...

Abstract This article analyzes how Hua Guofeng contributed to China’s transformation in the early years of the post-Mao era. In approaching the central question, five sub-questions are discussed: What kind of transformation took place? Why did Hua initiate the transformation? How did Hua legitimize the transformation? Why was he able to initiate it? And why did he step down in such a short period? Soon after Mao’s death, Hua Guofeng pursued a new course of development and stability. Due to his early career, Hua was a consistent developmentalist as well as a balanced “political generalist.” Hua employed a strategy of “political falsification” and carried out de facto de-Maoization under Mao’s name. Institutional power, his privilege as Mao’s successor, and a broad supporting coalition gave Hua enough power and authority to lead China’s transformation. However, Hua had his limits and weaknesses. Hua’s contribution was significant, but it should not be overestimated.

Abstract Roof fall is a frequent and destructive disaster in the working face of extra-thick coal seams. The important technology for disaster elimination is roof grouting, and the key to its success is to accurately predict the distance of the advanced fractures based on a reasonable rock constitutive relationship. In this paper, the constitutive relationship reflecting the progressive failure process of rock was established, including the elastic–plastic constitutive relation of intact rock, the fracture constitutive relation of non-penetrating fracture, and the shear friction constitutive relation of penetrating fracture. On this basis, the finite–discrete element method (FDEM) numerical calculation method was developed. Taking Yushupo Coal mine with a 16-m-thick coal seam as an example, the numerical results showed that the fractures in the roof appear 15~35 m ahead of the working face, and the maximum value of advance bearing pressure is between 16 and 30 MPa. Meanwhile the laboratory test results showed that the compressive strength of the grouted coal is 14.91 MPa after solidification for 7d. The above data mean that the grouting slurry can solidify the broken roof into a whole without roof fall disaster. At the same time, the rock pressure of the extra-thick coal seam can effectively crush the top coal, which is conducive to the top-coal caving operation. The in situ test shows that when the pre-grouting is carried out in the range of 20~30 m in front of the working face, the roof fall disaster can be effectively avoided, which is consistent with the numerical simulation results. It shows the rationality of the FDEM numerical method and the constitutive model of rock deformation–fragmentation failure process.

Abstract The basal ganglia are known to be essential for action selection. However, the functional role of basal ganglia direct and indirect pathways in action selection remains unresolved. Here, by employing cell-type-specific neuronal recording and manipulation in mice trained in a choice task, we demonstrate that multiple dynamic interactions from the direct and indirect pathways control the action selection. While the direct pathway regulates the behavioral choice in a linear manner, the indirect pathway exerts a nonlinear inverted-U-shaped control over action selection, depending on the inputs and the network state. We propose a new center (direct)-surround (indirect)-context (indirect) ‘Triple-control’ functional model of basal ganglia, which can replicate the physiological and behavioral experimental observations that cannot be simply explained by either the traditional ‘Go/No-go’ or more recent ‘Co-activation’ model. These findings have important implications on understanding the basal ganglia circuitry and action selection in health and disease.

Abstract Background: Refractory secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication observed in patients with end-stage renal disease and can result in ectopic calcification. Metastatic calcification involving the heart valves and the conduction system can easily lead to arrhythmias, including atrioventricular block. This case report describes a maintenance hemodialysis patient with refractory SHPT resulting in a complete atrioventricular block (CAVB), which was eventually reversed to a first-degree atrioventricular block.
Case summary: We present the case of a 31-year-old Asian female who was receiving maintenance hemodialysis because of lupus nephropathy. She developed SHPT, and an electrocardiogram revealed a first-degree atrioventricular block. Then, she underwent parathyroidectomy (PTX) with autotransplantation. Unfortunately, a few years later, she developed SHPT again, and an electrocardiogram revealed a CAVB. A few years after the second PTX surgery, the calcification of the left atrium and left ventricle improved, and her CAVB was reversed.
Conclusion: This case revealed that metastatic cardiac calcification can result in complete atrioventricular blockage. Following parathyroid surgery, calcification of the cardiac conduction system improved, leading to reversal of the atrioventricular block. It is important for dialysis patients to optimize intact parathyroid hormone therapy and pay attention to calcification metastasis.

Abstract CO2 foam fracturing fluid is widely used in unconventional oil and gas production because of its easy flowback and low damage to the reservoir. Nowadays, the fracturing process of CO2 foam fracturing fluid injected by coiled tubing is widely used. However, the small diameter of coiled tubing will cause a large frictional pressure loss in the process of fluid flow, which is not beneficial to the development of fracturing construction. In this paper, the temperature and pressure calculation model of gas, liquid, and solid three-phase fluid flow in the wellbore under annulus injection is established. The model accuracy is verified by comparing the calculation results with the existing gas, solid, and gas and liquid two-phase model of CO2 fracturing. The calculation case of this paper shows that compared with the tubing injection method, the annulus injection of CO2 foam fracturing fluid reduces the friction by 3.06 MPa, and increases the wellbore pressure and temperature by 3.06 MPa and 5.77°C, respectively. Increasing the injection temperature, proppant volumetric concentration, and foam quality will increase the wellbore fluid temperature and make the CO2 transition to the supercritical state while increasing the mass flow rate will do the opposite. The research results verify the feasibility of the annulus injection of CO2 foam fracturing fluid and provide a reference for the improvement of CO2 foam fracturing technology in the field.

Abstract In order to discuss the participation selection strategy of relevant subjects in WEEE recycling, a Stackelberg game model of “recyclers—remanufacturers—government” in a WEEE recycling network is constructed, and the system’s stability strategy and conditions are analyzed. Besides this, the direct and indirect effects of recovery time sensitivity, CRMs’ life expectancy sensitivity, and government subsidies on the optimal decision-making of both recyclers and remanufacturers are explored. The results show that the system can achieve a stable and ideal equilibrium, and achieve win–win for all parties, through reasonable profit transfer and cost-sharing. The dual sensitivity of manufacturers’ demand and policy subsidies has the same qualitative impact on the decision variables of the recyclers and remanufacturers. The subsidies vary depending on the CRMs’ recovery effort level of remanufacturers, and these can incentivize the remanufacturers to increase CRMs’ life expectancy. Moreover, a cost-sharing contract between recyclers and remanufacturers can avoid “free-riding” behavior in WEEE recycling. The research can assist in the benefit coordination and behavior adjustment of WEEE recycling members, and provide a theoretical basis for governments to formulate appropriate recycling subsidies to promote the formal recycling of E-waste.

Abstract Accurate and efficient urban traffic flow prediction can help drivers identify road traffic conditions in real-time, consequently helping them avoid congestion and accidents to a certain extent. However, the existing methods for real-time urban traffic flow prediction focus on improving the model prediction accuracy or efficiency while ignoring the training efficiency, which results in a prediction system that lacks the scalability to integrate real-time traffic flow into the training procedure. To conduct accurate and real-time urban traffic flow prediction while considering the latest historical data and avoiding time-consuming online retraining, herein, we propose a scalable system for Predicting short-term URban traffic flow in real-time based on license Plate recognition data (PURP). First, to ensure prediction accuracy, PURP constructs the spatio-temporal contexts of traffic flow prediction from License Plate Recognition (LPR) data as effective characteristics. Subsequently, to utilize the recent data without retraining the model online, PURP uses the nonparametric method k-Nearest Neighbor (namely KNN) as the prediction framework because the KNN can efficiently identify the top-k most similar spatio-temporal contexts and make predictions based on these contexts without time-consuming model retraining online. The experimental results show that PURP retains strong prediction efficiency as the prediction period increases.
