Abstract The Chinese species of Lilioceris are revised, and three new species are described from Tibet, China: Lilioceris zhentangensis Xu & Liang, sp. nov., Lilioceris medogensis Xu & Liang, sp. nov. and Lilioceris zayuensis Xu & Liang, sp. nov. Five species of Lilioceris are reported for China as new records: L. dromedarius (Baly, 1861), L. pulchella (Baly, 1859), L. semicostata (Jacoby, 1908), L. unicolor (Hope, 1831) and L. nepalensis Takizawa, 1989. Lilioceris seminigra (Jacoby, 1889) is proposed as a junior synonym of L. unicolor Hope, 1831. Redescriptions, habitus photographs, geographic distributions, host plants (if available) and habitats are provided for these species.

Abstract The subgenus Sphodromimus Casale, 1984 in China has been studied, revealing two new species: Chlaenius (Sphodromimus) caperatus sp. nov. from Hunan Province and Chlaenius (Sphodromimus) yinggelingensis sp. nov. from Hainan Province. A new replacement name is proposed for C. (Sphodromimus) wrasei (Kirschenhofer, 2003) [nec Chlaenius (Lithochlaenius) wrasei Kirschenhofer, 1997]: Chlaenius (Sphodromimus) davidi nom. nov. The status of Chlaenius (Sphodromimus) enleensis Mandl, 1992 is upgraded from subspecies to full species, and Chlaenius (Sphodromimus) tamdaoensis Kirschenhofer, 2003 is proposed as its new synonym. Chlaenius (Sphodromimus) pilosus (Casale, 1984) is reported as a new record from China. A key to all known species of the subgenus Sphodromimus from China is provided.

Abstract Pareuryaptus is a genus of Carabidae containing 18 species and one subspecies, distributed mainly in the Oriental Region. However, only one species and one subspecies were recorded from China before the present study.Four species and one subspecies of Pareuryaptus are reported from China with three of them newly recorded: Pareuryaptus adoxus (Tschitschérine) from Yunnan; Pareuryaptus exiguus Dubault, Lassalle & Roux from Guangxi; and Pareuryaptus luangphabangensis Kirschenhofer from Yunnan. Moreover, the male of Pareuryaptus exiguus Dubault, Lassalle & Roux is firstly described and a key to all known Chinese species is provided.

Abstract New data on taxonomy and distribution of several species of ground beetles of the nominotypical subgenus of Trichotichnus Morawitz, 1863 occuring in Yunnan (China) and adjacent areas are provided. Fourteen species are currently recorded from Yunnan. The following new taxa are described: T. (s. str.) angustitarsis sp. n. (western Yunnan, and North West Laos), T. (s. str.) subrobustus sp. n. (northwestern Yunnan), T. (s. str.) schmidti sp. n. (northwestern Yunnan and Nepal), T. (s. str.) fedorenkoi sp. n. (North Vietnam), T. (s. str.) hamulipenis sp. n., with two subspecies: the nominotypical one (northwestern Yunnan) and T. (s. str.) h. nepalensis ssp. n. (Nepal), T. (s. str.) miwai continentalis ssp. n. (southern Sichuan, Yunnan, and North Vietnam), and T. (s. str.) kavanaughi sp. n. (northwesternmost Yunnan). Six species are re-described, with new distributional data. The following species are recorded for the first time: T. (s. str.) doiinthanonensis for China and Vietnam, T. (s. str.) subangulatus for China, and T. (s. str.) fukuharai for the Chinese provinces of Shaanxi and Yunnan. Keys to species similar to T. noctuabundus (the noctuabundus species group) and to Trichotichnus (s. str.) species known from Yunnan are given respectively. Additional justification for the synonymy of T. (s. str.) ellipticus Ito, 2014 [=T. (s. str.) anthracinus Landin, 1955] and T. (s. str.) baehri Ito, 1997 [= T. (s. str.) cyrtops (Tschitschrine, 1906)] is also provided.

A new Manipuria species, M. yuae sp. nov., is described from Tibet and Yunnan, China. The new species differs from M. dohertyi by its larger size, unicolored elytra, and absence of a tooth-like prolongation in front of the mandible. Additional data is provided for M. dohertyi based on new material from China.

Abstract The external female genitalia of 29 species belonging to three genera of Megalopodidae and 80 species belonging to 61 genera of another four families in Chrysomeloidea were studied. The external female genitalia within the superfamily Chrysomeloidea can be divided into a cerambycid type and a chrysomelid type. The comparative study of external female genitalia shows Megalopodidae is more closely related to the family Cerambycidae than to the family Chrysomelidae s.l. Among five subfamilies of Cerambycidae we studied, the subfamily Lamiinae is most closely allied to Megalopodidae. An evolutionary path is proposed for the spiculum gastrale in Chrysomeloidea: the characteristic state of the spiculum gastrale without a joint is primary, and that with a joint is secondary. The family Orsodacnidae has probably evolved in isolation from the early chrysomelids, due to their shared external female genitalia (cerambycid type). In the family Chrysomelidae, the structure of external female genitalia and ovipositing behavior show that the subfamily Synetinae is closer to the Camptosomata than the subfamily Eumolpinae. In general, the shape of the terminal ovipositor is palp-like in the Chrysomeloidea. Terminal ovipositors are generally palp-shaped in Chrysomeloidea except for those that are lamellate in the genus Callispa and the subfamily Cassidinae who produce egg-sheaths.
