Abstract The second part of the article (see the beginning in No. 6-2021) analyzes the negative consequences of the so-called health care optimization. It is shown that as a result of its implementation, the availability of medical care has decreased. A possible way to improve the territorial organization of medical services is considered. The effectiveness of the Russian health care system in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic was assessed.

Abstract The paper (part 1) analyzes the dynamics of indicators characterizing the state of health of the Russian population. A comparative analysis of the development of healthcare in Russia and other countries is carried out. The conclusion is confirmed that the main problem in the development of Russian healthcare is the insufficient volume of public funding. The drawbacks and limited potential of the adopted funding model are assessed. A possible way to increase public funding is proposed. It is shown that the availability of medical care is reduced as a result of the so-called optimization of healthcare. A possible way to improve the territorial organization of medical services is considered. The effectiveness of the Russian healthcare system in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic is assessed.

Abstract The article considers the dynamics of the TV and Internet consumption of different cohorts under the dramatic changes in the Russian media landscape In the last decade, the media environment has reached the mass scale in the use of the latest communication technologies based on the high-speed mobile Internet and its various apps The results of the comparison of the studies of 2012 and 2017 indicate multidirectional trends: an increase in the average daily time of the Internet use in the middle-age and partly elder cohorts, and a moderate increase in the younger groups The duration of TV viewing is a cyclic phenomenon determined by the stages of life cycle and socialization: the TV consumption of the same cohorts tends to decrease in a five-year interval According to the theory of media substitution, the Internet is partly a functional alternative to TV for it allows the needs of the audience to be more fully satisfied and to develop on the basis of new technological opportunities The article also considers features of the media consumption of the digital generation (millennials) This group is internally very different: it consists of several age and social-professional subgroups with serious differences in the average daily TV and Internet consumption All these trends of the media consumption changed under the covid-19 crisis: changes in the mode of life and a fundamentally different information agenda determined an increase in the media use, primarily TV and the Internet The long-term trend of the gradual decrease of the TV-audience changed: the average TV viewing increased in all cohorts Under the crisis, the leading functions of the media - information and recreation - are more in demand than before

Abstract The sequential appearance of a specific group of embryonal antigens (EA), presumably globulins, was demonstrated in developing maize (Zea mays L.) caryopses using a double immunodiffusion test with absorption of common antigens. Cross immunoelectrophoresis was employed to follow the differential pattern of EA accumulation in the growing scutellum and embryonic axis. The transient nature of two predominant EA seems to indicate their role as specific protein reserves of embryonal tissues. Another presumably organ-specific EA was maintained in callus obtained from a 28-day-old culture of scutellum isolated from the mature non-germinated caryopsis.

Abstract The applicability of the G + C content in DNA in the construction of phylogenetic tree was studied. The group 1 of the genus Bacillus was selected as an object for study. Statistically reliable correlation between evolutionary distances of 16S rRNA sequences (Ei) and parameter Pi named as "GC evolutionary distance" was shown. The value of Pi is the difference between the G + C content in DNA of two species branching from one phylogenetic line. The coefficient of correlation between Ei and Pi equals 0.97 for the representatives of group 1, including Bacillus anthracis, B. cereus, B. circulans, B. firmus, B. lautus, and B. subtilis. Phylogenetic studies of the G + C content in DNA in the genus Bacillus, group 1 representatives has shown that this character can be used in molecular systematics and phylogeny as additional data altogether with the data on 16S rRNA sequences.

Abstract The addition of iron hydroxide and iron-reducing bacteria into a fermenter for anaerobic processing of sulfate-containing sewage was shown to decrease sulfate reduction and sulfide concentration, while increasing the total organic carbon (TOC) and methane production. The effect of iron (III) in sulfate-containing sewage depended on its dose, which can be expressed as molar ratio Fe(III)/SO4(2-). Sulfide concentration increased monotonically, reaching 91 mg/l and 45 mg/l after 15 days of processing at Fe(III)/SO4(2-) ratios of 0.06 and 0.5, respectively. However, soluble sulfide production was not observed at ratios equaling 1 and 2. At ratios of 0.06, 0.5, 1, and 2, the maximum rates of TOC removal were 0.75, 1.15, 1.39, and 1.55 g TOC/g of organic matter (OM) per 1 h. Methane production rates were 0.039, 0.047, 0.064, and 0.069 mg/g OM per 1 h, with the mean relative amounts of methane in the biogas being equal to 25, 41, 55, and 62%, respectively. These data can be applied to the development of new methods of anaerobic purification of sulfate-containing sewage.
