    Abstract The article presents the state of knowledge and research in the field of surface cracks occurring in disc braking systems of rail and car vehicles. The craze formed during the operation of vehicles is particularly dangerous and leads to breaking the disc into several pieces. It may lead to a loss of braking force and damage to the entire disc brake caliper. The main aim of the research is to identify surface cracks in brake discs made of cast iron and use experimental methods to estimate their depth. Research were conducted on the disc braking system developed by the authors. In examining the location and depth of cracks, the penetration method, ultrasound, as well as a special probe were used. This device measures the crack depth based on the electrical resistance between two points on the surface of the metallic object. The tests showed that the first microcracks on the brake discs appeared after 309 braking tests on the test stand. In addition, it was observed that the surface cracks length of the disc increased linearly to depth until they reached about 11.5-12 mm with corresponded to crack lengths in the range of 65-70 mm. However, determination of the regression functions presented in the article allows to estimate the depth of surface cracks up to 70 mm long on cast iron brake discs by measuring their length.

    Abstract Zielsetzung: Retrospektive Evaluierung morphologischer Charakteristika und Kontrastmittel-Verhalten der GD-EOB-verstärkten MRT im Vergleich zur histopathologischen Bordeaux Subgruppenklassifikation von hepatozellulären Adenomen (HCA).
    Material und Methodik: Insgesamt wurden 41 Patienten mit 55 histopathologisch gesicherten HCA ausgewertet. Als Referenzstandard dienten die bioptische (n = 5) oder chirurgische (n = 50) Sicherung mit histopathologischem Befund inklusive Subgruppenanalyse basierend auf der Bordeaux Klassifikation (inklusive verfetten (H-CHA), inflammatorischen (I-HCA), b-Catenin positiven (b-HCA) and unklassifizierten (U-HCA) HCA). Zwei erfahrene Untersucher analysierten die MRT Bilder im Konsens bezüglich morphologischer Kriterien sowie des dynamischen und hepatozyten-spezifischen Kontrastmittelverhaltens.
    Ergebnisse: Insgesamt wurden 18 H-HCA (33%), 17 I-HCA (31%), 4 b-HCA (7%) and 16 U-HCA (29%) in der MRT ausgewertet. Zur Differenzierung der einzelnen Subtypen war das Vorhandensein von Fett (H-HCA, n = 17;b-HCA, n = 1; U-HCA, n = 2) und des "Atoll Zeichens" (I-HCA, n = 8) signifikant (p > 0,05). Für die hepatobiliäre Phase zeigten sich die meisten HCA visuell hypointens (H-HCA 89%; I-HCA 88%;b-HCA 75%, U-HCA 63%; p = 0,015); das relative Enhancement zeigte sich nicht signifikant unterschiedlich zwischen den einzelnen Gruppen (p = 0,454).
    Schlussfolgerungen: Der Bordeaux Klassifikation folgend zeigen sich typische morphologische Parameter der einzelnen HCA-Subtypen. In der hepatobiliären Phase sind die meisten HCA hypointens, jedoch kann eine Iso- bis Hyperintensität in allen Gruppen vorkommen; relativ am häufigsten jedoch bei den U-HCA.

    Abstract Inclusive K_{S};{0}K_{S};{0} production in ep collisions at the DESY ep collider HERA was studied with the ZEUS detector using an integrated luminosity of 0.5 fb;{-1}. Enhancements in the mass spectrum were observed and are attributed to the production of f_{2}(1270)/a_{2};{0}(1320), f_{2};{'}(1525) and f_{0}(1710). Masses and widths were obtained using a fit which takes into account theoretical predictions based on SU(3) symmetry arguments, and are consistent with the Particle Data Group values. The f_{0}(1710) state, which has a mass consistent with a glueball candidate, was observed with a statistical significance of 5 standard deviations. However, if this state is the same as that seen in gammagamma-->K_{S};{0}K_{S};{0}, it is unlikely to be a pure glueball state.
