Abstract Point Cloud Registration is the problem of aligning the corresponding points of two 3D point clouds referring to the same object. The challenges include dealing with noise and partial match of real-world 3D scans. For non-rigid objects, there is an additional challenge of accounting for deformations in the object shape that happen to the object in between the two 3D scans. In this project, we study the problem of non-rigid point cloud registration for use cases in the Augmented/Mixed Reality domain. We focus our attention on a special class of non-rigid deformations that happen in rigid objects with parts that move relative to one another about joints, for example, robots with hands and machines with hinges. We propose an efficient and robust point-cloud registration workflow for such objects and evaluate it on real-world data collected using Microsoft Hololens 2, a leading Mixed Reality device.

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic created a need for high-frequency employment and income data. Policy-makers and researchers of developing countries typically have not had access to such data. In India, a new private high-frequency panel dataset has recently emerged as the dataset of choice for analysis of the economic impact of COVID-19. This is the Consumer Pyramids Household Survey (CPHS) conducted by the Centre for Monitoring the Indian Economy (CMIE). But the CPHS has also been criticised for being inadequately representative nationally by missing poor and vulnerable households in its sample. We examine the comparability of monthly labour income estimates for the pre-pandemic year (2018-19) for CPHS and the official Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS). Across different methods and assumptions, as well as rural/urban locations, CPHS mean monthly labour earnings are anywhere between 5 percent and 50 percent higher than corresponding PLFS estimates. In addition to the sampling concerns raised in the literature, we point to differences in the way employment and income are captured in the two surveys as possible causes of these differences. While CPHS estimates are always higher, it should also be emphasised that the two surveys agree on some stylised facts regarding the Indian workforce. An individual earning ₹50,000 per month lies in the top 5 percent of the income distribution in India as per both surveys. Second, both PLFS and CPHS show that half the Indian workforce earns below the recommended National Minimum Wage.

Abstract Oxygen is used extensively in illnesses involving respiratory system. In emergencies such as the one created by the flare of Covid-19, oxygen consumption has increased tremendously. This article aims to improve our understanding about the medical oxygen, its production (air separation unit, pressure swing adsorption, oxygen concentrators), the supply chain, storage methods, and the final delivery system to the patient. This article also provides a comprehensive review on the additions in the medical infrastructure during the time of oxygen crisis in India along with the introduction of certain novel approaches towards oxygen production and conservation. We aim to minimize the panic among our readers by giving them an insight about the course behind the oxygen supply in that oxygen mask.

Abstract Introduction: Premenstrual dysphoric disorder is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome that impairs quality of life and carries an increased risk of suicidal attempts. Hormonal changes may underlie these symptoms. The present study was conducted to find out the prevalence of premenstrual dysphoric disorder among female students of a medical college in Nepal.
Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 266 healthy young females in a medical college of Nepal from 21st June 2021 to 31st August 2021 with approval from the Institutional Review Committee 51/2021. Convenience sampling was done. Self-rated questionnaire of premenstrual symptoms screening tool was used to evaluate premenstrual dysphoric disorder. The Premenstrual Symptoms Screening Tool reflects and translates categorical Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV criteria into a rating scale with degrees of severity. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 16. Point estimate at 95% confidence interval was calculated along with frequency and proportion for the binary data.
Results: Out of 266 female students, we found that the prevalence of premenstrual dysphoric disorder was 10 (3.8%) (1.50-6.10 at 95% Confidence Interval).
Conclusions: The prevalence of premenstrual dysphoric disorder in our study was found to be higher when compared to other similar studies.

Abstract This is a case of a 22-year-old male student who took paraquat as a substance abuse. He presented with flu-like symptoms and chest X-ray depicting changes of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). After looking at his purchase history in his cell phone, he was found to have purchased paraquat dichloride online and its use was later confirmed by his roommate. The patient developed respiratory distress with renal failure and succumbed to his condition after 11 days of hospital admission. This report highlights an important social issue of probable substance abuse with paraquat which is a commonly used contact herbicide in rural settings but not-so-common in urban population. Also, the report highlights the unusual complication sequalae of pneumothorax. The high mortality with this substance is because of the unavailability of an antidote and of its unscrutinized availability.

Abstract Background: Antegrade femoral access is a routinely used technique for infra-inguinal interventions. However, it can be challenging in cases of high femoral bifurcations, obliterative disease process and obese patients.
Purpose: A simple method of antegrade access using a Fogarty catheter and guide wires, under flouroscopic control is presented , which has lead to easy access in obliterative disease of SFA with minimal complications.
Results: We have done fourteen successful punctures using this technique over the past 6 months. In obese patients or patients with a pannus another assistant was used to pull the pannus back while doing the procedure. However, in two cases, while withdrawing the sheath into the CFA, there was inadvertent slippage of sheath outside the lumen of CFA. Immediate haemostasis was ensured by pulling the inflated Fogarty catheter backwards followed by manual compression before reintroducing the sheath inside the lumen. In both these cases, the patients were obese with a pannus and our puncture angle was more vertical which most probably led to this complication. However, post intervention results were satisfactory with no evidence of any pseudoaneurysm formation.
Conclusion: This simple method allows to achieve antegrade SFA access in a safe and secure manner.

Abstract Background: Transvaginal sonography and endometrial biopsy are the two diagnostic tests, most frequently used to investigate the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding. The aim of this study is to correlate the findings between transvaginal sonography and histopathology for diagnostic evaluation in perimenopausal women with abnormal uterine bleeding.
Methods: A descriptive observational study was carried out at Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, Thapathali, Kathmandu, Nepal during the period of one year (1st January 2019 to 30th December 2019) in 70perimenopausal women with abnormal uterine bleeding. Transvaginal sonography wasdone and endometrial thickness was noted. Endometrial biopsy was done under intravenous anaesthesia. Histopathological reports reviewed and analysis done.
Results: The most common age group of women presenting with abnormal uterine bleeding was 40 to 43 years(42.9%) and the commonest clinical feature was menorrhagia (50%) followed by menometrorrhagia (27.1%). The transvaginal sonography showed that majority of women had endometrial thickness of 10-12mm(35.7%) followed by 7-9mm(27.1%). Proliferative endometrium (37.1%) was most common histopathologicalfinding followed by secretory endometrium (30%). 10 cases of proliferative endometrium was seen at ET 7-9mm and 1 case of endometrial carcinoma was seen at ET 13-15 mm with P-value <0.13.
Conclusions: Transvaginal sonography and histopathological examination are the standard diagnostic procedures for the assessment of abnormal uterine bleeding and for early detection of precancerous lesion like endometrial hyperplasiaand endometrial cancer.

Abstract Background: Investigating the core component of social cognition, known as the theory of mind (ToM), becomes imperative in patients with moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) as they may present with social cognitive deficit-related disability interfering with patients' functional and behavioral status.
Aims: This study aimed to investigate the neurocognitive and behavioral predictors of the ToM in patients with traumatic brain injury (PtTBI).
Settings and design: Thirty PtTBI and 30 healthy controls (HCs) were assessed on a set of tasks.
Methods and material: The assessment included ToM tasks (cognitive and affective, verbal and nonverbal, and first-order and second-order) along with various neuropsychological (NP) assessments to explore their memory, executive functioning, and intelligence. Further, TBI participants also underwent behavioral and functional outcome measures using the Functional Status Examination (FSE) and the Neurobehavioral Rating Scale (NBRS).
Statistical analysis: The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analyses.
Results: Findings confirmed ToM deficit across all modes of ToM tasks in PtTBI and implicated the role of executive function and working memory in the expression of ToM in this group. While cognitive faux pas (FPC) and first-order false belief together could explain poor performance on NBRS, the nonverbal ToM task predicts functional outcome in PtTBI.
Conclusions: These findings have practical implications as they promote cognitive remediation intervention focused on restoring ToM, which may improve functional limitations and resulting disability in PtTBI.
