Abstract Mid-level clouds play a crucial role in the Arctic. Due to observational limitations, there is scarce research on the long-term evolution of Arctic mid-level clouds. From a satellite perspective, this study attempts to analyze the seasonal variations in Arctic mid-level clouds and explore the possible relationships with sea ice changes using observations from the hyperspectral Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) over the past two decades. For mid-level clouds of three layers (648, 548, and 447 hPa) involved in AIRS, high values of effective cloud fraction (ECF) occur in summer, and low values primarily occur in early spring, while the seasonal variations are different. The ECF anomalies are notably larger at 648 hPa than those at 548 and 447 hPa. Meanwhile, the ECF values at 648 hPa show a clear reduced seasonal variability for the regions north of 80°N, which has its minimum coefficient of variation (CV) during 2019 to 2020. The seasonal CV is relatively lower in the regions dominated by Greenland and sea areas with less sea ice coverage. Analysis indicates that the decline in mid-level ECF’s seasonal mean CV is closely correlated to the retreat of Arctic sea ice during September. Singular value decomposition (SVD) analysis reveals a reverse spatial pattern in the seasonal CV anomaly of mid-level clouds and leads anomaly. However, it is worth noting that this pattern varies by region. In the Greenland Sea and areas near the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, both CV and leads demonstrate negative (positive) anomalies, probably attributed to the stronger influence of atmospheric and oceanic circulations or the presence of land on the sea ice in these areas.

Abstract In order to improve the visual analysis ability of the morphological changes of rat liulimyocardial collagen fibers under different exercise loads, a method of extracting the morphological changes of collagen fibers in rat myocardium under different exercise loads based on three-dimensional simulation technique is proposed. The three-dimensional morphological characteristics of the collagen fibers in the original rat myocardium are made by CT scanning technique. Like information collection, a gradient decomposition method is used to filter the three-dimensional morphological features of rat myocardial collagen fibers. The edge contour features of the three-dimensional morphological features of rat myocardial collagen fibers under different motion loads are extracted. The threshold segmentation method is used to carry out the rat myocardial glue under different exercise loads. The segmentation of the regional pixel feature block of the three-dimensional morphological features of the original fiber is segmented into a block vector with high resolution, and the regional reconstruction of the three-dimensional morphological features of the rat myocardial collagen fibers under different motion loads is carried out to realize the high resolution identification and classification of the 3D morphological features of the rat myocardial collagen fibers. The simulation results show that the three-dimensional simulation of the morphological changes of rat myocardial collagen fibers under different exercise loads is better, and the accuracy of feature extraction is higher.

Abstract A commonly adopted dehumidification system on a suspension bridge is the desiccant wheel dehumidification system (DWDS), which demonstrates ineffectiveness and energy-intensiveness in high temperature and humidity scenarios. This paper proposes a suspension bridge hybrid dehumidification system (HDS) as a better alternative for corrosion protection. A numerical model of HDS was first established. Then, the effects of the main operating parameters on HDS were analyzed, and the dehumidification performance of HDS and DWDS was further compared to illustrate the superiority of HDS to apply on a suspension bridge. In addition, the air supply parameter was discussed, and a low-energy operation strategy of HDS in summer cases was proposed. Finally, limitations and adaptations of heat pump dehumidification system (HPDS) and DWDS on suspension bridges were discussed. The results showed that: (1) HDS realizes the utilization of waste energy from suspension bridges, enhancing the system efficiency. Its specific moisture extraction rate ( <semantics> S M E R </semantics> ) reaches 3.16 kg kW −1 h −1 in a high-temperature and -humidity environment (35 °C, 30.82 g kg −1 ) of the suspension bridge. (2) In the same inlet air conditions, HDS has greater dehumidification capacity than DWDS, and this advantage is enlarged with the increment of inlet air temperature and moisture content. In addition, HDS can strengthen dehumidification ability by decreasing the evaporation temperature and increasing the regeneration temperature to meet peak moisture loads of the suspension bridge. (3) Considering the anti-corrosion effects, energy consumption and drying time, the authors recommend that the moisture content corresponding to the atmospheric temperature and RH of 45% be used for air supply on a suspension bridge. (4) HPDS has poor adaptability to temperatures below 20 °C, while DWDS has poor adaptability to some high temperatures of 24~40 °C and high humidities of 19~30 g kg −1 . None of them can meet the air supply ...

Abstract To overcome the false alarm problem that arises for mine wind-velocity sensors due to air-door and mine-car operation, a wind-velocity disturbance identification method based on the wavelet packet transform and gradient lifting decision tree is proposed. In this method, a multi-scale sliding window discretizes continuous wind-velocity monitoring data, the wavelet packet transform extracts the hidden features of discrete data, and a gradient lifting decision tree multi-disturbance classification model is established. Based on the overlap degree rule, the disturbance identification results are merged, modified, combined, and optimized. In accordance with a least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression, the air-door operation information is further extracted. A similarity experiment is performed to verify the method performance. For the disturbance identification task, the recognition accuracy, accuracy, and recall of the proposed method are 94.58%, 95.70% and 92.99%, respectively, and for the task involving further extraction of disturbance information related to air-door operation, those values are 72.36%, 73.08%, and 71.02%, respectively. This algorithm gives a new recognition method for abnormal time series data.

Abstract Abstract The diagnosis of resistance variable multifault location (RVMFL) in a mine ventilation system is an essential function of the mine intelligent ventilation system, which is of great significance to mine-safe production. In this paper, a supervised machine learning model based on a decision tree (DT), multilayer perceptron (MLP), and ranking support vector machine (Rank-SVM) is proposed for RVMFL diagnosis in a mine ventilation system. The feasibility of the method and the predictive performance and generalization ability of the model were verified using a tenfold cross-validation of a multifault sample set of a 10-branch T-shaped angle-joint ventilation network and a 54-branch experimental ventilation network. The reliability of the model was further verified by diagnosing the RVMFL of the experimental ventilation system. The results show that the three models, DT, MLP, and Rank-SVM, can be used for the diagnosis of RVMFL in mine ventilation systems, and the prediction performance and generalization ability of the MLP and DT models perform better than the Rank-SVM model. In the diagnosis of multifault locations of the experimental ventilation system, the diagnostic accuracy of the MLP model reached 100% and that of the DT model was 44.44%. The results confirm the MLP model outperforms the three models and can meet engineering needs.

Abstract Ciprofol is a novel compound that was independently developed in China. According to the Chinese product instructions approved by the China National Medical Products Administration and the information of official website, indications for ciprofol include sedation and anesthesia during the surgical/procedure of nontracheal intubation, induction and maintenance of general anesthesia, and sedation during intensive care. Ciprofol is a short-acting intravenous sedative based on the structural modification of propofol. Ciprofol has high efficacy, good selectivity, and fewer adverse reactions, indicating good clinical application potential. A series of clinical studies have been conducted to evaluate the sedative effect of ciprofol in various procedures and settings, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, fiber-optic bronchoscopy, general anesthesia in elective surgeries, and mechanical ventilation in intensive care units. This review summarizes the chemical structure, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacokinetic properties of ciprofol. We also assessed the efficacy and safety of ciprofol by synthesizing the relevant clinical trial data.

Abstract Heparan sulfates (HSs) are the main components in the glycocalyx which covers endothelial cells and modulates vascular homeostasis through interactions with multiple Heparan sulfate binding proteins (HSBPs). During sepsis, heparanase increases and induces HS shedding. The process causes glycocalyx degradation, exacerbating inflammation and coagulation in sepsis. The circulating heparan sulfate fragments may serve as a host defense system by neutralizing dysregulated Heparan sulfate binding proteins or pro-inflammatory molecules in certain circumstances. Understanding heparan sulfates and heparan sulfate binding proteins in health and sepsis is critical to decipher the dysregulated host response in sepsis and advance drug development. In this review, we will overview the current understanding of HS in glycocalyx under septic condition and the dysfunctional heparan sulfate binding proteins as potential drug targets, particularly, high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) and histones. Moreover, several drug candidates based on heparan sulfates or related to heparan sulfates, such as heparanase inhibitors or heparin-binding protein (HBP), will be discussed regarding their recent advances. By applying chemical or chemoenzymatic approaches, the structure-function relationship between heparan sulfates and heparan sulfate binding proteins is recently revealed with structurally defined heparan sulfates. Such homogenous heparan sulfates may further facilitate the investigation of the role of heparan sulfates in sepsis and the development of carbohydrate-based therapy.
