    Abstract In "Lord of the Flies," William Golding integrates the living conditions of human beings into the relationship of the community of destiny between man and nature and reveals the neglect of ecological morality in the modern Western ethical value system with modernity as the core, showing a postmodern ecological ethics consciousness beyond modernity. The novel embodies the ecological integrity of the nonbinary opposition between man and nature, criticizes anthropocentrism and technological rationality that destroy the ecological integrity, and points out that modern science and technology have led to greater ecological disasters due to the lack of ecological ethics. Ecological morality that respects nature and the harmonious coexistence of man and nature is advocated. The forward-looking ecological ethics consciousness contained in the novel is especially thought-provoking in today's serious ecological problems and lack of ecological ethics. This paper will use ecological psychology as a new interdisciplinary research field to study the relationship between man and nature and open up new horizons and research methods. In this way, we will solve the growing ecological and environmental crisis.

    Abstract Objective: This study aimed to explore the effect of flipped venous catheters combined with spinal cord electrical stimulation on functional recovery in patients with sciatic nerve injury.
    Patients and methods: 160 patients with hip dislocation and sciatic nerve injury were divided into conventional release and flipped catheter + electrical stimulation groups according to the treatment methods (n=80). Motor nerve conduction velocity (MCV) and lower limb motor function were compared. Serum neurotrophic factors brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) were compared. The frequency of complications and quality of life were also compared.
    Results: The MCV levels of the common peroneal nerve and tibial nerve in the flipped catheter + electrical stimulation group were greater than the conventional lysis group (p<0.05). After treatment, the lower extremity motor score (LMEs) in the flipped catheter + electrical stimulation group was greater than the conventional lysis group (p<0.05). The serum levels of BDNF and NGF in the flip catheter + electrical stimulation group were higher than the conventional lysis group (p<0.05). The complication rate in the flipped catheter + electrical stimulation group was lower than in the conventional release group (6.25% vs. 16.25%, p<0.05). The quality-of-life score in the flip catheter + electrical stimulation group was greater than the conventional lysis group (p<0.05).
    Conclusions: The flipped venous catheter combined with spinal cord electrical stimulation can improve nerve conduction velocity, lower limb motor function, serum BDNF and NGF levels, reduce complications, and help improve the quality of life of sufferers with sciatic nerve injury.     Abstract During male fetal development, testosterone plays an essential role in the differentiation and maturation of the male reproductive system. Deficient fetal testosterone production can result in variations of sex differentiation that may cause infertility and even increased tumor incidence later in life. Fetal Leydig cells in the fetal testis are the major androgen source in mammals. Although fetal and adult Leydig cells are similar in their functions, they are two distinct cell types, and therefore, the knowledge of adult Leydig cells cannot be directly applied to understanding fetal Leydig cells. This review summarizes our current knowledge of fetal Leydig cells regarding their cell biology, developmental biology, and androgen production regulation in rodents and human. Fetal Leydig cells are present in basement membrane-enclosed clusters in between testis cords. They originate from the mesonephros mesenchyme and the coelomic epithelium and start to differentiate upon receiving a Desert Hedgehog signal from Sertoli cells or being released from a NOTCH signal from endothelial cells.     Abstract Introduction: This study examines the associations between time series, termed "coherency," using spectral analysis. Coherence squared, analogous to the squared correlation coefficient, serves as a metric to quantify the degree of interdependence and co-evolution of individual nodes.
    Methods: We utilized spectral analysis to compute coherence squared, unveiling relationships and co-evolution patterns among individual nodes. The resultant matrix of these relationships was subjected to network analysis.
    Results: By conducting a case study analyzing tweets associated with the co-hashtags #StopAsianHate and #BlackLivesMatter, we present a novel approach utilizing coherency network analysis to investigate the dynamics of social media text. Frequency domain analysis aided in calculating coherence squared, effectively illustrating the relationships and co-evolution of individual nodes. Furthermore, an analysis of the phase spectrum's slope facilitated the determination of time lag and potential causality direction between highly co-evolved node pairs.
    Discussion: Our findings underline the potential of coherency network analysis in comprehending the intricate dynamics of social media text. This approach offers valuable insights into how topics, sentiments, or movements manifest and evolve within the digital realm. Future research should explore diverse datasets and domains to broaden our understanding of this novel analytical technique.

    Abstract List-type questions, which can have a varying number of answers, are more common in the health domain where people seek for health-related information from a passage or passages. An example of this type of question answering task is to find COVID-19 symptoms from a Twitter post. However, due to the lack of annotated instances for supervised learning, automatic identification of COVID-19 symptoms from Twitter posts is challenging. We investigated detection of symptom mentions in Twitter posts using GPT-3, a pre-trained large language model, along with few-shot learning. Our results of 5-shot and 10-shot learning on a corpus of 655 annotated tweets demonstrate that few-shot learning with pre-trained large language model is a promising approach to answering list-type questions with a minimal amount of effort of annotation.

    Abstract Objective: By reviewing the literature analyzing vancomycin powder for preventive surgery, the effect of this method on reducing the infection rate after TJA was systematically evaluated to provide a basis for future clinical work.
    Methods: Using PubMed, Medline, Elsevier, and CNKI, with the following mesh words: "vancomycin", "local / intraoperative / topical / intrawound", "TJA", "TKA", "THA", "total joint arthroplasty", "total knee arthroplasty", "total hip arthroplasty", "infection", and "SSI", to search for case-control research papers on the impact of prophylactic application of vancomycin powder on the incidence of postoperative infection, we compared the overall infection rate in the literature by using RevMan 5.3 meta-analysis software and analyzed the impact of vancomycin on the infection rate of different parts and types of TJA according to different subgroups.
    Results: A total of 22 qualified studies were selected; twenty-five studies compared the effect of prophylactic use of vancomycin powder on infection rates after TJA. There were 23,363 cases in total, including 9545 cases in the vancomycin group and 13,818 cases in the control group. The results of the meta-analysis showed that the possibility of postoperative infection after prophylactic use of vancomycin powder was significantly lower than that without vancomycin risk ratio: 0.38 [0.23,0.59], P < 0.01). However, a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) showed no significant effect of vancomycin on postoperative infection (P = 0.52).
    Conclusion: Based on the retrospective studies, local prophylactic use of vancomycin powder in TJA can significantly reduce the incidence of postoperative infection. High-quality RCTs should be carried out to further evaluate these results.

    Abstract The lack of tactile experience is a significant flaw in online product evaluation and purchasing, but visual information can be utilized to compensate for tactile deficits. This study constructed a conceptual model based on mental imagery theory, innovativeness theory, and the personal goals framework, to explore the mechanism of visual-tactile compensation on consumer purchase intention. We conducted an online experiment with 406 participants recruited from a community and online store in Southern China and tested the research hypotheses using structural equation modeling. The findings suggest that visually compensated tactile perceived diagnosticity promotes mental imagery and sensory similarity, which, in turn, affects purchase intention. Theoretically, this study enriches the current explanations of online haptics by explaining the mechanisms by which haptic demonstration videos influence consumers' haptic evaluations and behavioral responses, as well as the moderating role of personal goals therein; practically, this study offers advice for retailers seeking to build or expand their tactile marketing strategies.

    Abstract Background: Chongqing, the most populous city in Southwest China. This study aims to examine the equity of health resource allocation in Chongqing using the latest statistics, analyse possible shortcomings and propose strategies to address these issues.
    Methods: This cross-sectional study used healthcare resource, population, area and gross domestic product data from the Seventh National Census Bulletin of Chongqing, the National County Statistical Yearbook, the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Chongqing Health Statistical Yearbook 2022. We also studied the equity of health resource allocation in Chongqing by using the Gini coefficient, Lorenz curve and Theil index, and used the Analytical Hierarchy Process and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (AHP-TOPSIS) method to comprehensively evaluate the health resources in the four major regions of Chongqing.
    Results: The Gini coefficient of health resources in Chongqing in 2021 was the highest when allocated according to geographical area, between 0.4285 and 0.6081, both of which exceeded 0.4, and the Gini coefficient of medical equipment was the highest and exceeded 0.6. The inter-regional Theil index of each resource was greater than the intraregional Theil index, and the contribution of inter-regional differences ranged from 64.83% to 80.21%. The results of the AHP-TOPSIS method showed that the relative proximity between health resources and ideal solutions in four regions of Chongqing ranged from 0.0753 to 0.9277.
    Conclusion: The allocation of health resources in Chongqing exhibits pronounced inequities, particularly in the distribution of medical equipment according to geographical area. Moreover, there exists a substantial gap in the equity of health resource allocation among the four regions of Chongqing. As such, this study emphasises the need for Chongqing, China, to prioritise the equitable allocation of health resources and increase consideration of geographic factors. Implementing measures to promote equitable allocation of health resources, particularly in geographic terms, is critical.

    Abstract Immunotherapy provides durable responses for locally advanced esophageal carcinoma clinical therapy in numerous patients. However, the mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy have not been elucidated. The phenomenon of the histological transformation of non-small cell lung cancer to small cell lung cancer resulting in resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has been reported. It remains unclear whether ICIs or chemotherapy could cause a similar transformation from esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) to esophageal neuroendocrine carcinoma (ENEC). The present study report the case of a patient initially diagnosed with stage II ESCC who underwent radical surgery after three cycles of neoadjuvant therapy with cisplatin, albumin bound paclitaxel and ICIs. Immunohistochemical staining confirmed the absence of the SCC component and the presence of the NEC component, with negativity for CK5/6 and tumor protein p40, but positive expression of tumor protein p53, pan-cytokeratin, synaptophysin and CD56. The patient was followed up for 5 months with no treatment or postoperative complications. In conclusion, histological transformation to ENEC is a potential mechanism of acquired resistance to ICIs in ESCC. Prospective larger studies are warranted to further characterize ESCC-to-NEC transformation on use of ICIs.
