Abstract Porosity and saturation are the basis for describing reservoir properties and formation characteristics. The traditional, empirical, and formulaic methods are unable to accurately capture the nonlinear mapping relationship between log data and reservoir physical parameters. To solve this problem, in this study, a novel hybrid model (NRF) combining neural network (NN) and random forest (RF) was proposed based on well logging data to predict the porosity and saturation of shale gas reservoirs. The database includes six horizontal wells, and the input logs include borehole diameter, neutron, density, gamma-ray, and acoustic and deep investigate double lateral resistivity log. The porosity and saturation were chosen as outputs. The NRF model with independent and joint training was designed to extract key features from well log data and physical parameters. It provides a promising method for forecasting the porosity and saturation with R2 above 0.94 and 0.82 separately. Compared with baseline models (NN and RF), the NRF model with joint training obtains the unsurpassed performance to predict porosity with R2 above 0.95, which is 1.1% higher than that of the NRF model with independent training, 3.9% higher than RF, and superiorly greater than NN. For the prediction of saturation, the NRF model with joint training is still superior to other algorithms, with R2 above 0.84, which is 2.1% higher than that of the NRF model with independent training and 7.0% higher than RF. Furthermore, the NRF model has a similar data distribution with measured porosity and saturation, which demonstrates the NRF model can achieve greater stability. It was proven that the proposed NRF model can capture the complex relationship between the logging data and physical parameters more accurately, and can serve as an economical and reliable alternative tool to give a reliable prediction.

Abstract An extraintestinal fistula is a rare complication after appendectomy. To our knowledge, this study is the first to report a case of sigmoid abdominal wall fistula after appendectomy in a 45-year-old male patient who underwent appendectomy due to acute appendicitis. Purulent discharge was noted at the abdominal wall incision wound for more than 1 year postoperatively. The patient's clinical manifestation, medical history, physical examination, and auxiliary examination all suggested the formation of an abdominal sinus. After exploratory laparotomy at the Digestive Disease Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University, a diagnosis of sigmoid abdominal wall fistula was confirmed, and the fistula was cured after complete fistula resection. The reporting of this rare and atypical case may provide useful reference information for diagnosing and treating future cases of enterocutaneous fistula.

Abstract This study aimed to investigate prolonged screen time and using electronic devices before sleep and their associated factors in elderly people in Shaanxi province of China. We conducted a cross-sectional study among 2647 elderly participants aged 60–88 years. Data were collected through questionnaires. Demographic characteristics, screen time, using electronic devices before sleep, health status, lifestyles, sleep quality, and other associated factors were investigated. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the associated factors of screen time and using electronic devices before sleep. The crude odds ratio (cOR) and adjusted odds ratio (aOR) and their 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated. A total of 1784 subjects completed the questionnaire. There were 6.89% participants with prolonged screen time and 13.45% using electronic devices before sleep frequently. Prolonged screen time was associated with personal monthly income (aOR = 1.205, p = 0.001), number of household residents (aOR = 0.860, p = 0.010), rural residents (aOR = 0.617, p = 0.038), and regular drinkers (aOR = 2.889, p < 0.001). Using electronic devices before sleep was associated with being female (aOR = 0.657, p = 0.007), family monthly income (aOR = 0.866, p = 0.002), being an occasional drinker (aOR = 1.891, p = 0.005), and self-reported sleep quality (aOR = 1.593, p = 0.007). In conclusion, several factors related to screen time or using electronic devices before sleep were identified. Only being a drinker was a common associated factor for both screen time and using electronic devices before sleep.

Abstract Using a series of characteristic analyses of HCHO, SO 2 , NO 2 , O 3 , and absorptive aerosols (ultraviolet aerosol index—UVAI) in the atmosphere of the study area from 2011 to 2021, this paper reviews the pollutants present in Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan, and Anhui provinces, which are the key regions for air pollution control in China. Furthermore, the correlation between various air pollutants and O 3 is also examined. The results obtained show the following: (1) Within the research areas, temporal pollutant variations can be observed from 2011 to 2021. NO 2 and HCHO only modestly decrease, SO 2 sharply declines, while UVAI remains stable. During the study period, HCHO and O 3 first increase and subsequently decline, whereas the other three pollutants exhibit the opposite behavior. (2) Among the examined pollutants, SO 2 is the most unstable. (3) Our research discovered that the atmospheric transport paths at high-value points significantly vary between seasons using the public backward trajectory model. (4) Through the correlation analysis we performed, this research reveals the different degrees of spatial correlations between O 3 and other pollutants. (5) Using the FNR index method, the sensitivity of O 3 to its precursors (NOx and VOCs) is investigated. Based on the results, we provide some suggestions concerning the primary control pollutants and relative control strategies in different seasons and regions.

Abstract Accurate health prognostics of lithium-ion battery packs play a crucial role in timely maintenance and avoiding potential safety accidents in energy storage. To rapidly evaluate the health of newly developed battery packs, a method for predicting the future health of the battery pack using the aging data of the battery cells for their entire lifecycles and with the early cycling data of the battery pack is proposed. Firstly, health indicators (HIs) are extracted from the experimental data, and high correlations between the extracted HIs and the capacity are verified by the Pearson correlation analysis method. To predict the future health of the battery pack based on the HIs, degradation models of HIs are constructed by using an exponential function, long short-term memory network, and their weighted fusion. The future HIs of the battery pack are predicted according to the fusion degradation model. Then, based on the Gaussian process regression algorithm and battery pack data, a data-driven model is constructed to predict the health of the battery pack. Finally, the proposed method is validated with a series-connected battery pack with fifteen 100 Ah lithium iron phosphate battery cells. The mean absolute error and root mean square error of the health prediction of the battery pack are 7.17% and 7.81%, respectively, indicating that the proposed method has satisfactory accuracy.

Abstract To ensure that injection water quality reaches the standard, oil field sewage stations adopt a continuous sludge dredging process to reduce the content of suspended solids and sand. A large amount of highwater- content oily sludge is produced, which results in increased costs of transportation and subsequent harmless treatment. Therefore, a sludge reduction treatment is necessary. A set of centrifugal reduction processes for oily sludge was designed in this study, with the horizontal screw centrifuge as the key piece of equipment. In the laboratory, CPAM flocculant was screened. In the field test, the effects of four factors rotational speed, differential speed, the feeding quantity of sludge, and flocculant dosage on the reduction effect were determined. The results show that when the rotational speed is higher, the differential speed is lower, and the feeding quantity of sludge remains lower, and the flocculant dosage remains higher, after treatment, the water content of the sludge is lower and the solid content of the sludge is higher. The optimal parameters of the centrifugal reduction process were determined using an orthogonal experimental design as follows: rotational speed 2,607 rpm, differential speed 8 rpm, the feeding quantity of sludge 7 m3/h, and flocculant dosage 100 g/m3. After treatment, the average water content of the sludge decreased from 92.75% to 56.57%, and the average solid content of the sludge increased from 2.30% to 36.72%. The split ratio of the water-outlet and sludge-outlet was in the range of 8.71:1 to 12.57:1, and the corresponding sludge reduction ratio was 89.70% to 92.63%, confirming successful sludge reduction.

Abstract Soil aggregation is closely related to the soil organic carbon sequestration, both of which plays an important role in the stability of the soil carbon pool. However, the results of the impact of yak grazing intensity on the soil carbon process in alpine meadows have been unclear. With the marsh meadow as the research object in the Gahai wetland of the east Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, we analyzed the influence of different grazing intensities on the allocation of mass, stability and aggregate-associated organic carbon content of aggregates in the surface soil (0-20cm) of pasture by the Le Bissonnais method. The results showed that the mass of aggregates in the particle size class of > 0.2-mm was the highest among the pastures with different grazing intensities. Compared with the no grazing grassland, light grazing promoted the formation of macro aggregates in the particle size class of > 1-mm and improved the stability of soil aggregates. The degree of soil agglomerations and stability of aggregates decreased, and the macro aggregates gradually transformed into micro aggregates (< 0.05-mm class) in moderately and heavily grazed pastures. The > 2-mm and < 0.05-mm classes of particle size had a strong fixation effect on organic carbon. Light grazing promoted the accumulation of organic carbon in this particle size aggregate, and moderate and heavy grazing accelerated the decomposition of organic carbon. There was no significant difference in organic carbon in other particle size aggregates among different grasslands (P > 0.05). This result shows that light grazing, which is a reasonable yak grazing intensity in the study area, is conducive to the formation of a good soil structure in the area and improves the soil carbon sequestration capacity.

Abstract The pathological characteristics of osteoarthritis are cartilage matrix degradation, chondrocytes apoptosis, and low-grade inflammation of the joint. Recent studies have shown that blood vessels grow from the subchondral bone to the articular cartilage. However, the relationship among inflammation, angiogenesis, and chondrocyte apoptosis is still unclear. We found that chondrocytes could secrete chemokines and VEGF to promote the migration of vascular endothelial cells in response to TNF-α stimulation. The invasion of blood vessels leads to increased oxygen tension in the local environment, which increased the expression of SETD7 in chondrocytes by activating the JAK-STAT5 pathway. The bond of phosphorylated STAT5 and the specific locus in the promoter of SETD7 directly increased the transcription of SETD7. On the one hand, SETD7-regulated chemokine expression by forming a positive loop; on the other hand, SETD7-mediated chondrocyte apoptosis by inhibiting the nuclear localization of HIF-1α. In this study, we discovered a novel function of chondrocytes as mediators of inflammation and angiogenesis. Our study demonstrates that SETD7 is a potential molecular target to prevent OA development and progression.

Abstract A 53-year-old patient who experienced recurring upper abdominal pain and discomfort for 4 years was admitted to our hospital. Gastroscopy was performed to identify the location of the pain and evaluate the characteristics of a mass in the abdomen. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) and abdominal computed tomography (CT) revealed a space-occupying lesion in the gastric fundus, suggestive of a submucosal tumor and highly likely of stromal origin. Surgical resection of the lesion was performed for identification; however, postoperative histopathological examination of the lesion revealed gastric fundus tuberculosis (TB). Gastric TB is relatively rare; therefore, clinicians should be highly suspicious of patients with abdominal symptoms from regions with a high incidence of TB to prevent treatment delay caused by misdiagnosis.
