Abstract Through two and half decades, decent work (DW) has been studied mainly on unemployment and underemployment to promote workers' well-being, overlooking the importance of understanding knowledge of workers' (KW's) well-being in the workplace. However, the conflict between organizational performance and KW's well-being has intensified with technology development and the digital economy. This study constructs and validates a new scale for measuring the decent work perception (DWP) of KW in the context of knowledge management (KM). First, 27 in-depth interviews are conducted based on previous research results and grounded theory, resulting 4 dimensions consisting of 32 initial items identified by the KWs as reflecting their perception of DW. The 4dimensions of DWP are work security, respect & support, self-value, and professional skills. Second, 212 KWs participate in the preliminary survey, identifying the initial questionnaire's validity and selecting 13 items from the original questionnaire. Finally, 554 questionnaires are collected for the formal survey. According to exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmative factor analysis (CFA), the 13-item decent work perception scale (DWPS) has reasonable reliability and validity. Considering the characteristics of work challenges, work autonomy, and career commitment of KWs, this study contributes to the knowledge of respect & support, self-value, and professional skills on DWPS. It is concluded that the DWPS can be applied to measure DW for KWs. As an effective measurement tool for KWs, this scale is also crucial for helping employees achieve their career goals, and managers understand KWs' demands theoretically and practically.

Abstract Boron oxide clusters have structural richness and exotic chemical bonding. We report a quantum chemical study on the binary B5O6− cluster, which is relatively oxygen-rich. A global structural search reveals planar C2v (1A1) geometry as the global minimum structure, featuring a heteroatomic hexagonal B3O3 ring as its core. The three unsaturated B sites are terminated by two boronyl (BO) groups and an O− ligand. The B5O6− cluster can be faithfully formulated as B3O3(BO)2O−. This structure is in stark contrast to that of its predecessors, Cs B5O5− and Td B5O4−, both of which have a tetrahedral B center. Thus, there exists a major structural transformation in B5On− series upon oxidation, indicating intriguing competition between tetrahedral and heterocyclic structures. The chemical bonding analyses show weak 6π aromaticity in the B5O6− cluster, rendering it a boronyl analog of phenolate anion (C6H5O−) or boronyl boroxine. The calculated vertical detachment energy of B5O6− cluster is 5.26 eV at PBE0, which greatly surpasses the electron affinities of halogens (Cl: 3.61 eV), suggesting that the cluster belongs to superhalogen anions.

Abstract Human proximal renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2) are constantly exposed to glyco-oxidative injury due to the diabetic nephropathy. It has been reported that nanoparticles (NPs) due to their unique properties may show outstanding antioxidant activity. The influences of high glucose (HG) treatment with a concentration of 50 mM on HK-2 cells toxicity and the protective effects of synthesized gold NPs (AuNPs) by hydrothermal method were explored in terms of free radical production and advanced glycation end products (AGEs) formation. Also, the expression of Bax, Bcl-2, Caspase-3 at both mRNA and protein levels was evaluated by qPCR and ELISA assays, respectively followed by SIRT3 and SOD2 activity assays. It was observed that AuNPs with a diameter of about 30 nm and good colloidal stability at physiological pH attenuates HG‐induced cytotoxicity in HK-2 cells through a significant increase in cell viability and the reduction of free radical production, AGEs formation, and expression of Bax/Bcl-2 and Caspase-3 at both mRNA and protein levels. However, 3-TYP, a SIRT3 inhibitor, significantly inhibited the inhibitory effects of AuNPs on HG‐induced cytotoxicity. This data revealed that HG concentrations induced glyco-oxidative stress in kidney cells and AuNPs could be used as promising candidates in reducing the risk of progression of diabetic nephropathy.

Abstract Objective: To study the value of spiral CT perfusion parameters for evaluating acute pancreatitis and their correlation with inflammatory factor and JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway. Methods: Patients with acute pancreatitis and patients with pancreatic trauma who underwent surgical resection in Liaocheng Dongchangfu People’s Hospital between May 2014 and March 2017 were selected and enrolled in the AP group and the control group of the research respectively; spiral CT perfusion scanning was conducted before surgery to measure the blood flow (BF), blood volume (BV), and mean transit time (MTT), and the serum was collected to determine the contents of inflammatory factors; pancreatitis tissue and normal pancreatic tissue were collected after surgical resection to determine the expression of JAK2/STAT3 signal molecules. Results: pancreatic tissue BF and BV levels of AP group were significantly lower than those of control group while MTT level was not different from that of control group; CRP, PCT, HMGB-1, Ghrelin and sTREM-1 contents in serum as well as JAK2, STAT3, Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL mRNA expression in pancreatic tissue of AP group were significantly higher than those of control group and negatively correlated with BF and BV levels in pancreatic tissue. Conclusion: Spiral CT perfusion parameters BF and BV can reflect the microcirculatory disorder of acute pancreatitis and are associated with the increased secretion of inflammatory factors and the activation of JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway in the course of disease.

Abstract Objective: To evaluate the curative effect of lauromacrogol foam sclerotherapy of uterine fibroids via transvaginal ultrasound-guided injection. Methods: Thirty premenopausal women with a total of thirty-one uterine fibroids were recruited consecutively and underwent transvaginal 3D-Power Doppler Angiography (PDA) at 0, 1, 3, and 6 months. Written informed consent was obtained from all of the patients. The changes in the fibroid 3D volume and relationships between the fibroid location and blood supply were analyzed. The relief of clinical symptoms and improvement in health-related quality of life (HRQL) were evaluated using the uterine fibroid symptom and quality-of-life (UFS-QOL) questionnaire before and after treatment for 6 months; adverse events were also assessed. Results: The mean baseline volumes ± SD were 61.2 ± 71.5 cm3 (range, 4.1 cm3 - 340.4 cm3) for the dominant fibroid. The mean values of percentage reduction in fibroid volume at 1, 3 and 6 months were 23.9% (range, 5.2% - 42.1%; 95%CI, 20.6% - 27.3%), 43.4% (range, 21.8% - 67.4%; 95%CI, 39.0% - 47.8%), and 60.0% (range, 31.8% - 83.2%; 95%CI, 55.2% - 64.9%), respectively, and the reduction was correlated with the location and blood supply. Additionally, the blood flow to the fibroids was markedly decreased. The clinical symptoms were greatly alleviated or even completely resolved, and the HRQL was notably improved (P < 0.001). Mild abdominal pain, paleness, vomiting, and cold sweat were most commonly reported adverse effects. Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy of uterine fibroids with foam lauromacrogol is a simple, safe and useful method with a wide application prospect.

Abstract Green manure (GM) has been used to support rice production in southern China for thousands of years. However, the effects of GM on soil carbon sequestration (CS) and the carbon footprint (CF) at a regional scale remain unclear. Therefore, we combined the datasets from long-term multisite experiments with a meta-analysis approach to quantify the potential of GM to increase the CS and reduce the CF of paddy soils in southern China. Compared with the fallow–rice practice, the GM–rice practice increased the soil C stock at a rate of 1.62 Mg CO2-eq ha–1 yr–1 and reduced chemical N application by 40% with no loss in the rice yield. The total CF varied from 7.51 to 13.66 Mg CO2-eq ha–1 yr–1 and was dominated by CH4 emissions (60.7–81.3%). GM decreased the indirect CF by 31.4% but increased the direct CH4 emissions by 19.6%. In the low and high CH4 emission scenarios, the CH4 emission factors of GM (EFgc) were 5.58 and 21.31%, respectively. The greater soil CS offset the increase in GM-derived CF in the low CH4 scenario, but it could not offset the CF increase in the high CH4 scenario. A trade-off analysis also showed that GM can simultaneously increase the CS and reduce the total CF of the rice production system when the EFgc was less than 9.20%. The variation in EFgc was mainly regulated by the GM application rates and water management patterns. Determining the appropriate GM application rate and drainage pattern warrant further investigation to optimize the potential of the GM–rice system to increase the CS and reduce the total CF in China.

Abstract Aiming at the scheduling problem of logistics distribution vehicles, an enhanced artificial electric field algorithm (SC-AEFA) based on the sine cosine mechanism is proposed. The development of the SC-AEFA was as follows. First, a map grid model for enterprise logistics distribution vehicle path planning was established. Then, an enhanced artificial electric field algorithm with the sine cosine mechanism was developed to simulate the logistics distribution vehicle scheduling, establish the logistics distribution vehicle movement law model, and plan the logistics distribution vehicle scheduling path. Finally, a distribution business named fresh enterprise A in the Fuzhou Strait Agricultural and Sideline Products Trading Market was selected to test the effectiveness of the method proposed. The theoretical proof and simulation test results show that the SC-AEFA has a good optimization ability and a strong path planning ability for enterprise logistics vehicle scheduling, which can improve the scheduling ability and efficiency of logistics distribution vehicles and save transportation costs.

Abstract The smell of space is inseparable from the sustainable development of the living environment. The research on olfactory perception and smell landscape has a positive effect on landscape design and urban planning and contributes to the formation and design optimization of unique urban memory. This study combines urban smell tracking experiments with Internet social media data analysis to classify smells in the old city center of Guangzhou, China, and analyzes the study within the inner ring and six historic districts. Based on the research results, the smell map was drawn, and the reliability of the smell map was tested through social data and semantic analysis. The emotional score heat map of smell and emotion in six regions was constructed, highlighting the impact of smell in key neighborhoods on the environment. In the conclusion to the study, the thematic routes of green urban design are proposed: sightseeing routes, cultural routes, and food routes, as well as improvement strategies to promote the integration of smell and urban operation activities and the sustainable development of urban regional characteristics.

Abstract Green manure–crop rotation is a sustainable approach to protect crops against diseases and improve yield. However, the mechanism by which green manuring manipulates the crop-associated microbial community remains to be elucidated. In this study, we explored the horizontal processes of bacterial communities in different compartments of the soil–root interface (bulk soil, rhizosphere soil, rhizoplane and endosphere) of tobacco by performing a field experiment including four rotation practices, namely, tobacco rotated with smooth vetch, ryegrass, radish, and winter fallow (without green manure). Results showed that the co-occurrence networks constructed by adjacent compartments of the soil–root interface with green manuring had more edges than without green manuring, indicating dramatic microbial interactions. Green manuring increased the dispersal-niche continuum index between bulk soil and other compartments, indicating that it facilitated the horizontal dispersal of microbes. For the different green manuring practices, the neutral community model explained 24.6–27.6% of detection frequency for bacteria, and at least one compartment under each practice had a normalized stochasticity ratio higher than the 50% boundary point, suggesting that the deterministic and stochastic processes jointly shaped the tobacco microbiome. In conclusion, green manuring generally facilitates bacterial community dispersal across different compartments and enhances potential interactions among adjacent compartments. This study provides empirical evidence for understanding the microbiome assembly under green manure–crop rotation.

Abstract Doping alkali metals into boron clusters can effectively compensate for the intrinsic electron deficiency of boron and lead to interesting boron-based binary clusters, owing to the small electronegativity of the former elements. We report on the computational design of a three-layered sandwich cluster, Na 5 B 7 , on the basis of global-minimum (GM) searches and electronic structure calculations. It is shown that the Na 5 B 7 cluster can be described as a charge-transfer complex: [Na 4 ] 2+ [B 7 ] 3− [Na] + . In this sandwich cluster, the [B 7 ] 3− core assumes a molecular wheel in shape and features in-plane hexagonal coordination. The magic 6π/6σ double aromaticity underlies the stability of the [B 7 ] 3− molecular wheel, following the (4 n + 2) Hückel rule. The tetrahedral Na 4 ligand in the sandwich has a [Na 4 ] 2+ charge-state, which is the simplest example of three-dimensional aromaticity, spherical aromaticity, or superatom. Its 2σ electron counting renders σ aromaticity for the ligand. Overall, the sandwich cluster has three-fold 6π/6σ/2σ aromaticity. Molecular dynamics simulation shows that the sandwich cluster is dynamically fluxional even at room temperature, with a negligible energy barrier for intramolecular twisting between the B 7 wheel and the Na 4 ligand. The Na 5 B 7 cluster offers a new example for dynamic structural fluxionality in molecular systems.
