Abstract Presented paper deals with the issue of lubricating tribological systems formed by a double pair operating under mixed conditions of mixed friction before and after experimental tests, which were conducted in accordance with the selected methodology using Tribotestor M‘06 test machine. The lubricating media included ecological oils Plantohyd 46 S by Fuchs and EAL Hydraulic 46 manufactured by the Mobil company. Applied ecological oils can be used in agricultural mobile machines as a replacement for conventional lubricants. The tests were conducted on designated material double pairs. The shaft was made of steel 16MnCr5. The second observed friction element in terms of glide angle test was a steel plate made of S235JR, gliding surface of which was produced utilizing flame powder coating technology. The results were statistically processed and are presented in the form of graphs, tables and figures.

Abstract Proposed paper deals with experimental tests performed on the Nieman M01 FZG test rig. Experiments were carried out in accordance with STN 65 6280 standard for FZG scuffing tests, from which load values for each load level were obtained. HCR gears made of 16MnCr5 material were utilized during experimental tests. Gear surface was deposited by PVD coatings of nACRo4 and TiAlN + DLC. Conventional lubricant MADIT PP 90H and biological lubricant OMW Biogear S150 were selected for lubrication environments. Aim of the experimental tests lied in application and comparison of PVD coatings deposited on HCR gears. Values of the maximum height of the assessed profile Rz for tip and reference diameters were measured after each load level. Results of experimental tests were statistically processed and relations between the maximum height of assessed profile Rz and load levels for both utilized coatings in both environments were established on the basis of these results.

Abstract Contact wear caused by electric arc during electric contact make (cut-in) and break (cut-out) has the direct impact on the contact lifetime. The RC element wired parallelly to the contact will eliminate or reduce the arcing and subsequently extend the lifetime. Comparative tests of the two sets of identical Danfoss 077B electromechanical thermostats have been carried out. In the first batch, standard thermostats were tested. In the second batch, the same thermostat types, but with RC elements wired parallel to thermostats main contacts were tested. Measurement has not proven any improvement of the contact wear. Temperature drift and change of the critical dimension caused by contact wear were very similar in the both cases. Thus, the application of RC element is considered not reasonable measure for reduction of contact wear of electromechanical thermostats.

Abstract The precision and stability of adjusted temperatures are critical requirements for electromechanical thermostats. The key element in meeting the requirement is a thermostat bellows. It is a convertor of pressure into force that actuates the mechanical system of the thermostat. Convolutions enabling the axial movement of the bellows cause that the bellows is partly behaving as a spring. Therefore, the bellows has its own spring rate. The setting of the bellows spring rate influences the critical parameters of the thermostat. The aim of the article is to find the difference between the setting done by bellows producer and setting done by thermostat producer and its influence on the thermostat adjustment.

Abstract The combination of stamping and subsequent welding of components is an important area of the automotive industry. Stamping inaccuracies affect the final size of the stamping and the welded part. In this article, we deal with a specific component that is produced by such a procedure and is also a common part of the geometry of a car. We focused on the possibility of using a negative phenomenon-deformation during welding-on the partial elimination of inaccuracies arising during stamping. Based on the planned experiment, we created a prediction model for the selected part and its production, with the help of which it is possible to determine suitable welding parameters for a specific dimension of the stamping and the required monitored dimension of the welded part. The article also includes the results of additional experimental measurements verifying the accuracy of the model and prediction maps for practice.

Abstract The formulation of the Hall-Petch relationship in the early 1950s has raised immense interest in studying the influence of the grain size of solid materials on their properties. Grain refinement can be achieved through extreme deformation. In the presented study, Equal-Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) was successfully applied to produce an ultrafine-grained microstructure in a pure commercial Cu of 99.9 wt%. Samples were processed by ECAP at 21 °C for six passes via route A. A new equation of equilibrium that allows the exact determination of the number of extrusions and other technological parameters required to achieve the desired final grain size has been developed. The presented research also deals, in a relatively detailed and comparative way, with the use of ultrasound. In this context, a very close correlation between the process functions of extrusion and the speed of longitudinal ultrasonic waves was confirmed.

Abstract The presented contribution deals with the comparison of selected ecological oils of the same viscosity class in terms of wear of the sliding bearing B 60 M4 as part of the matched sliding pair lubricated by ecological lubricant. The wear of the sliding bearing is monitored using the parameters; the change of geometric tolerance cylindricity having the most indicative capability about the size and location of wear. The second parameter is weight loss, and the third parameter is the change of surface roughness at the contact point of friction elements. Results are statistically processed and presented in the form of graphs and tables.
