Abstract Recently we have performed large-scale average magnetization studies of the Ising model for the square, honeycomb, triangular, and simple cubic lattice. We want to complement those studies with the structurally more complicated body-centered cubic lattice Ising model in this paper. We have relevantly calculated the order parameter or average magnetization expression for the body-centered cubic Ising lattice based on the recently developed interrelation, given by $\langle\sigma_{0, i}\rangle= \langle\tanh[K(\sigma_{1,i}+\sigma_{2,i}+\dots +\sigma_{z,i})+H]\rangle$. We will use the same conjectures for the odd spins correlation functions as in our previous works. The mathematical forms of the odd spin correlation functions will be eventually elucidated by some physical discussions. We have seen that the obtained average magnetization expression with the numerical data for the body-centered cubic lattice Ising model is in good agreement.

Abstract Social media is the leading medium which is used for communication during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research conducted aims to fill the gap of literature related to social media use during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research aims at uncovering the influences of social media use in several dimensions during lockdown(s). The study aims to answer the research question of: Are the influences of social media use different from normal times? The online questionnaire has been completed by six hundred and sixty-eight users within the period of lockdown. The author prepared the questionnaire, which is composed of 22 positive statements in order to evaluate the effects of social media use during the COVID-19 pandemic. A 5 point Likert scale was used, where reliability and validity were calculated by the Cronbach's alpha value, which was 0.751. Findings highlight that users have more information about COVID-19, and they follow recent information via social media, which shows the shift towards digital medium. Findings also indicate that users are aware of fake news, and they follow official sources. Social media is powerful to affect decision-makers, and respondents' social media use did not create any panic or anxiety amongst them. This research indicates that respondents' social media use during COVID-19 is different from normal times as a common purpose triggers this, survival. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, most of social media shares were like a dream or a strong desire that may cause anxiety in others. During the pandemic, people are in lockdown and share similar feelings and follow similar behavioural patterns. As there is a common purpose and struggle via users, psychological well-being is not affected negatively.

Abstract Background Gallbladder cancer is a rare cancer with a poor prognosis despite all the advances in treatment options and is mostly detected incidentally. In the current literature, re-excision is performed on patients with stage T1b and above, but high mortality rates are still observed. In this study, we aimed to investigate the reasons affecting the prognosis of incidental gallbladder cancer. Methodology Data from 33 patients were retrospectively analyzed. Patient age, sex, preoperative radiologic findings, surgical procedures, margin status, postoperative results with histologic diagnosis, T stage, complications, and mortality were evaluated. Results Of the 33 patients included in the study, 24 (72.7%) were female, nine (27.3%) were male, and the mean age was 66.4 ± 13.4 years. Seventeen (51.5%) patients in our study were aged over 65 years. Age over 65 years was found to have a significant effect on mortality (p = 0.018). In the preoperative ultrasound imaging, 27 (81.8%) patients had gallstones, two (6.1%) patients had gallbladder polyps, 31 (93.9%) had focal or diffuse thickness increases in the gallbladder wall, and nine (27.3%) patients had pericholecystic fluid. The presence of pericholecystic fluid (p = 0.039) and wall thickness (p = 0.006) were found to be associated with mortality. There was perineural invasion and lymphovascular in 17 patients each. Both perineural invasion (p = 0.016) and lymphovascular invasion (p = 0.007) were associated with mortality. Tumor grade was also associated with mortality (p = 0.001). When the prognosis of the patients was evaluated according to the T stage, the increase in the T stage negatively affected the prognosis (p < 0.001). Overall survival was a median of 17 months (95% confidence interval = 10.6-23.3). Conclusions Incidental gallbladder cancer is detected on routine histologic examination of gallbladder specimens after cholecystectomy. Most patients may require re-excision, but the prognosis is still poor in patients who have undergone re-excision. Age >65 years, pericholecystic fluid, T stage, grade, lymphovascular invasion, and perineural invasion had a significant effect on mortality, the presence of which should trigger the option of re-excision to be examined more carefully.

Abstract Objective: Malaria has been eradicated in Türkiye as of 2010, but there are imported cases. In this study, we aimed to compare the diagnostic value of two rapid tests; SD Bioline Malaria Ag Pf/Pan (SD-Pf/Pan) and SD Bioline Malaria Ag Pf/Pv (SD-Pf/Pv) with microscopy and real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).
Methods: Blood samples were taken from all participants. Thick drop smears were prepared. Thick drop smears were examined for malaria positive/negative distinction under the light microscopy. Then, two rapid diagnostic tests (SD-Pf/Pan and SD-Pf/Pv) were performed. After DNA extraction from blood samples, RT-PCR was typed. The data were evaluated with SPSS 21 program of statistics.
Results: A total of 30 cases out of 66 suspected malaria cases were detected as positive with microscopy and RT-PCR. Twenty-seven patients were found positive with both SD-Pf/Pan and SD-Pf/Pv tests. Based on the microscopic results as a reference method, SD-Pf/Pan and SD-Pf/Pv rapid diagnostic tests had a 90% sensitivity, 100% specificity, 100% positive predictive value (PPV), and 92.86% negative predictive value (NPV). Based on the RT-PCR results as a reference method, for detection of
Conclusion: As a result, high sensitivity and specificity were detected in both kits in the diagnosis of malaria infections caused by

Abstract Objective: To identify additional staging information, venous, lymphatic, and neural invasion  as potential prognostic factors in colorectal cancer (CRC).
Study design: A descriptive study. Place and Duration of the Study: University of Health Sciences, Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, Izmir, Turkey; from May 2007 to June 2019.
Methodology: Retrospective analyses were performed on 855 CRC patients, who were treated with surgery. Patient and treatment characteristics, lymphovascular (LVI), and perineural (PNI) invasion were documented. The impact of LVI and PNI was determined using Cox proportional hazards model.
Results: The cohort examined had 346 (40.5%) LVI and 150 (17.5%) PNI positive patients. After surgery, mortality was 18.4% for LVI and 8% for PNI patients. Although increased ASA score (for ASA 2 hazard ratio [HR]=0.555, p=0.001 and ASA 3-4 HR=0.723, p=0.014), adjuvant chemotherapy (HR=2.5, p<0.001), LVI (HR=1.961, p<0.001) and PNI (HR=1.625, p<0.001) involvement increased the risk of death based on univariate analysis, multivariate Cox analysis showed a risk of death increase with increased ASA score (for ASA 2 HR=0.53, p<0.001 and ASA 3-4 HR=0.703, p=0.008), adjuvant chemotherapy (HR=2.114, p<0.001) and LVI involvement (HR=1.640, p<0.001).
Conclusion: LVI and PNI may be useful in identifying CRC patients who might benefit the most from adjuvant systemic therapy. On the other hand, the presence of LVI and PNI reflects a shorter patient survival. Key Words: Lymphovascular invasion, Perineural invasion, Colorectal cancer, Cancer staging.

Abstract Objective: The primary objective of this study was to explore the impact of metformin and metformin/gliptin combination therapy on the serum concentrations of vitamin B12, ferritin, and folic acid in individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: This study included 118 patients, classified into two groups: 59 patients using only metformin and 59 patients using a combination of metformin/gliptin. Among the latter group, 35 patients used vildagliptin/metformin, and 24 used sitagliptin/metformin. The study recorded the demographic data such as the age and gender of the patients, as well as their initial and 1-year follow-up blood parameters.
Results: Folic acid decreased significantly in the metformin group but not in the metformin/gliptin group. Vitamin B12 and ferritin decreased significantly in both groups. The decrease in vitamin B12 and ferritin was not significantly different between the two groups. The decrease in fasting plasma glucose was more significant in the metformin/gliptin group than in the metformin group.
Conclusion: After 1 year, both groups taking metformin and metformin/gliptin showed low serum ferritin and vitamin B12 levels. Therefore, vitamin B12 levels in patients using these drugs should be closely monitored. Ferritin levels can be used to indicate whether glycemic control has been achieved.

Abstract Leishmaniasis is a parasitic infection caused by an obligate intracellular protozoon transmitted by infected sand flies. Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is a skin disease known in our country as oriental sore, which heals, leaving a scar in place, mainly on the skin and sometimes in the mucous membrane. Demonstration of the parasite in chronic CL is difficult. Moreover, differential diagnosis from other granulomatous dermatitides such as lupus vulgaris, sarcoidosis and deep mycosis is growing difficult. A case of CL was presented in an 84-year-old female patient who had a pre-diagnosis of lymphoma and a nodule lesion on her forehead for 2.5 months. In the smear of the sample taken from the lesion, amastigote forms of the parasite were diagnosed and typed as
