Abstract Remote sensing (RS) can efficiently support the quantification of crop water requirements and water productivity (WP) for evaluating the performance of agricultural production systems and provides relevant feedback for management. This research aimed to estimate winter wheat water consumption and WP in the central clay plain of Sudan by integrating remotely sensed images, climate data, and biophysical modelling. The wheat crop was cultivated under a centre-pivot irrigation system during the winter season of 2014/2015. The Landsat-8 satellite data were used to retrieve the required spectral data. The Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL) was supported with RS and climate data for estimating the Actual Evapotranspiration (ETa) and the WP for the wheat crop. The SEBAL outputs were validated using the FAO Penman–Monteith method coupled with field measurements and observation. The results showed that the seasonal ETa ranged from 400 to 600 mm. However, the WP was between 1.2 and 1.5 kg/m3 during the wheat cycle. The spatial ETa and WP maps produced by the SEBAL model and Landsat-8 images can improve water use efficiency at field scale environment and estimate the water balance over large agricultural areas.

Abstract During vaginal labour, the delivery requires the fetal head to mould to accommodate the geometric constraints of the birth canal. Excessive moulding can produce brain injuries and long-term sequelae. Understanding the loading of the fetal brain during the second stage of labour (fully dilated cervix, active pushing, and expulsion of fetus) could thus help predict the safety of the newborn during vaginal delivery. To this end, this study proposes a finite element model of the fetal head and maternal canal environment that is capable of predicting the stresses experienced by the fetal brain at the onset of the second phase of labour. Both fetal and maternal models were adapted from existing studies to represent the geometry of full-term pregnancy. Two fetal positions were compared: left-occiput-anterior and left-occiput-posterior. The results demonstrate that left-occiput-anterior position reduces the maternal tissue deformation, at the cost of higher stress in the fetal brain. In both cases, stress is concentrated underneath the sutures, though the location varies depending on the presentation. In summary, this study provides a patient-specific simulation platform for the study of vaginal labour and its effect on both the fetal brain and maternal anatomy. Finally, it is suggested that such an approach has the potential to be used by obstetricians to support their decision-making processes through the simulation of various delivery scenarios.

Abstract Introduction: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a degenerative joint disease that progresses over time due to articular cartilage loss. Orthopedic surgeons use plain radiography (X-ray) with an anteroposterior (AP) standing (weight-bearing) view, which is currently considered the gold standard modality, to diagnose KOA. They base this diagnosis on the clinical history and physical examination of the knee joint. However, many previous studies have reported a weak correlation between knee-joint structural abnormalities on X-rays and described pain. Therefore, our study aimed to assess the incompatibility between patients' pain-severity complaints and radiographic findings on standing AP view. No similar study has been recently published in the Middle East.
Methods: 158 participants were selected for the study from King Abdulaziz University Hospital, Jeddah, between March 2022 and August 2022. We graded the patients' AP knee radiographs using the Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grading scale and the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis (WOMAC) index, by which we made phone calls to assess pain severity on a 0-10 pain subscale.
Results: We found a significant association between the 0-10 pain subscale and WOMAC questions describing difficulty in sitting (
Conclusion: Our results indicated that there was a significant relationship between mild pain and severe radiological findings on X-rays and vice versa. Additionally, there was a significant relationship, based on the KL score and the WOMAC item that assessed sitting difficulty, between moderate sitting difficulty and severe radiological findings and vice versa. This may suggest that central and peripheral sensitization could be one factor in the causes of pain.

Abstract Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a promising candidate for cognitive radio transmission. OFDM supports high data rates that are robust to channel impairments. However, one of the biggest problems for OFDM transmission is high out off band radiation, which is resulted from the sidelobes of the OFDM subcarriers. These sidelobes are a source of interference to neighbouring transmissions. This paper focuses on reducing the out-of-band radiation by reading and extracting the radiation power in the sidelobes. This is done by extending the time domain OFDM signal by zeros in both sides. The resulted signal is then transformed to the time domain and extended samples are removed to obtain the N-samples of time domain signal represent the out-of-band radiated signal. The resulting signal is Fourier transformed and high frequency sub-carriers are removed to obtain pilots that are inverted and added to the original OFDM data sub-carriers resulting in reducing the Adjacent Channel Interference (ACI), which affects the adjacent systems. The added signal represents noise signal to the desired OFDM signal that reduces the BER performance of the desired system, thus a weighting factor is applied to the added signal to get a better BER performance with good out-of-band radiation reduction. Matlab/Simulink simulation is adopted to perform assessment of the proposed technique with different weighting factors and different frequency separation between the desired signal and the adjacent one. For 0 dB attenuation on the added signal, a 10 dB reduction in out-of-band radiation is obtained while 6 dB reduction is obtained when the weighing factor reduces the input signal power by 3 dB. BER performance is better by performing the reduction technique and depends on the frequency distance between the adjacent signal and the desired one.

Abstract The current study was designed to determine effectiveness of sildenafil citrate (viagra) on lipid profile of normal and experimentally induced diabetic male rats, the current study was carried out on (36) mature male mature rats, they were divided randomly into six equal groups, 6 of each group. The first group was administrated orally with (0.2 ml) of normal physiological saline (0.9% Nacl), the second group was injected (IP) by (0.5 ml/animal) with alloxane (125 mg.kg-1) , the third and fourth groups were administrated orally with viagra at doses (4 and 8 mg.kg-1), respectively, while the fifth and sixth groups injected (0.5 ml/animal) with alloxane (125 mg.kg-1), after one week, the (fifth and sixth) group were administrated orally with viagra at doses (4 and 8 mg.kg-1), respectively. The experiment was continued for 21 days. At the end of the experimental period, the animals were sacrificed, the blood samples were collected and the serum concentration of total cholesterol (T.C.), triglycerides (T.G.), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) and atherogenic index were determined in the serum. The results showed a significant increase in the serum level of T.C., T.G., LDL, VLDL and atherogenic index to the normal and diabetic rats treated with viagra and decrease in HDL concentration of the normal and diabetic rats administered with viagra when compared this two groups with control and diabetic groups respectively.

Abstract Background: Unsafe abortion is a major contributor to maternal morbidity and mortality in countries where induced abortion is restricted. In Kurdistan Region of Iraq, induced abortion is strictly forbidden except for life-threatening situations, increasing the risk of seeking unsafe abortions. Attitudes among healthcare professionals who directly encounter cases and consequences of induced abortion can be studied to improve women's access to safe abortion. This study aimed to examine attitudes towards induced abortion among gynecologists in Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Methods: This cross-sectional facility-based study was conducted in the first quarter of 2022 in Kurdistan Region of Iraq in the cities of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok. Convenient sampling was used to invite 330 gynecologists to participate, with 171 ultimately completing the questionnaire, giving a response rate of 53%. Questionaries using the Taylor and Whitehead abortion attitude scale were sent in person or digitally. The data was then analyzed using Chi-square and Fisher's exact tests to determine the independence of attitudes and associations between attitudes and sociodemographic factors.
Results: Among 171 gynecologists, 25% of the gynecologists agreed that induced abortion is unacceptable under any circumstances. Most (71%) disagreed that a woman has the right to choose to have an induced abortion. Around 51% considered induced abortion murder, and 41% agreed that induced abortion goes against all morals. Around 57% disagreed with the legalization of induced abortion, while 43% agreed. Gynecologists who were unmarried (P = 0.025), under the age of 40 (P = 0.044), and with less than 10 years of clinical experience (P = 0.043) were more likely to support the legalization of induced abortion in Kurdistan Region. None of the variables was found to be independently associated with attitudes towards abortion legalization.
Conclusions: Despite some younger gynecologists having more favorable attitudes towards induced abortion, most gynecologists in Kurdistan Region had less favorable views. Most gynecologists were willing to provide post-abortion care regardless of their legal status. We recommend conducting more studies to investigate the consequences of current abortion legislation among women in need of induced abortion in Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Abstract Background: Dental neglect (DN) is characterized within the wider framework of child neglect, though it is under-recognized by professionals.
Aim: To get an overview of the prevalence of DN worldwide and highlight the possible risk factors associated with it.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines. Studies on children and adolescents aged 0-19 years were included. Studies were identified by searching in the various scientific databases up to 14 January 2020.
Results: Ten primary studies were included in which DN or indicators of DN were examined. The prevalence estimate range of DN reported by seven of the included studies after removing the outliers is from 34% to 56%. The prevalence of untreated caries reported by three of the included studies ranged from 38.9% to 99%. The education level and SES of parents and parental attitudes towards dental health affect children's oral health. Moreover, looked-after children and children of refugees are at higher risk of DN.
Conclusion: The study showed a high prevalence of DN and untreated caries. Due to the under-reporting of DN and a limited number of included studies, the results cannot be generalized worldwide. There is a need to make policies that include reporting of DN to higher authorities by dental professionals.
