Abstract Clinical practice is an important educational tool for nursing students, and their emotions during clinical practice should be accurately understood. This study aimed to develop and verify the validity and reliability of a clinical practicum transition shock scale (CPT-shock) to measure Korean nursing students' emotional responses when transitioning from a theoretical learning process to clinical practice. This research design was a methodological study and the content, construct, criterion validity, and reliability of the items were verified. Content validity was evaluated by seven experts. The preliminary survey was conducted on 24 nursing students, and the factor analysis was conducted on 331 nursing students in various regions of Korea. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the model fit (χ

Abstract Clinical practice is an irreplaceable educational field in nursing education. Nursing students prepare to become nurses by integrating theoretical and practical nursing practices during clinical practice. However, nursing students experience emotional shock in the clinical environment, which differs from the theoretical learning environment as they enter the clinical practice stage. In this study, the experiences of nursing students with transition shock were analyzed using the analysis method suggested by Colaizzi. From 10 existing subthemes, four new themes were created. Four categories derived from nursing students' experiences of transition shock were identified as "an unbearable reality", "feeling the difference between learning and applying nursing care", "disappointment at the diminished presence", and "fear of becoming a nurse". The study results can be used as basic data for measures taken for nursing students in the field of nursing education to increase the understanding of transition shock and its reduction.

Abstract Despite the high sensitivity and widespread use of preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the American Cancer Society and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines do not recommend the routine use of preoperative MRI owing to the conflicting results and lack of clear benefit to the surgical outcome (reoperation and mastectomy) and long-term clinical outcomes (local recurrence and metachronous contralateral breast cancer). Preoperative MRI detects additional cancers that are occult at mammography and ultrasound but increases the rate of mastectomy. Concerns about overdiagnosis and overtreatment of preoperative MRI might be mitigated by adjusting the confounding factors when conducting studies, using the state-of-the-art image-guided biopsy technique, applying the radiologists' cumulative experiences in interpreting MRI findings, and performing multiple lumpectomies in patients with multicentric cancer. Among the various imaging methods, dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI has the highest accuracy in predicting pathologic complete response after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Prospective trials aimed at applying the MRI information to the de-escalation of surgical or radiation treatments are underway. In this review, current studies on the clinical outcomes of preoperative breast MRI are updated, and circumstances in which MRI may be useful for surgical planning are discussed.

Abstract This study conducts a systematic review and meta-analysis of the randomized-controlled clinical trials (RCTs) of attachment- and relationship-based interventions in the NICU. A systematic search of the PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase (OVID), PsycINFO, and CINAHL databases and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews was conducted in February 2021. Of the 32,904 studies examined, 15 were identified as relevant, and 10 RCTs were eligible for meta-analysis. Cochrane's risk of bias tool was used to assess the quality of the trial reporting. Interventions were categorized as (1) parent-infant interactions, (2) parent education, and/or (3) support through qualitative synthesis. The attachment- or relationship-based intervention was effective in relieving maternal traumatic stress, maternal depression, infant weight growth, and infant development. Subgroup analyses suggested that interventions significantly improved sub-domains of mothers' and children's interactive behavior. Tailored, staged interventions may contribute to better health outcomes in preterm infants and their families.

Abstract Purpose: To investigate the association of mammographic breast density with treatment and survival outcomes in patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC).
Methods: This retrospective study evaluated 306 women with TNBC who underwent NAC followed by surgery between 2010 and 2019. The baseline density and the density changes after NAC were evaluated. Qualitative breast density (a-d) was evaluated using the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System. Quantitative breast density (%) was evaluated using fully automated software (the Laboratory for Individualized Breast Radiodensity Assessment) in the contralateral breast. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the association between breast density and pathologic complete response (pCR), stratified by menopausal status. Cox proportional hazard regression analysis was used to evaluate the association among breast density, the development of contralateral breast cancer, and the development of locoregional recurrence and/or distant metastasis.
Results: Contralateral density reduction ≥10 % was independently associated with pCR in premenopausal women (odds ratio [OR], 2.5; p = 0.022) but not in postmenopausal women (OR, 0.9; p = 0.823). During a mean follow-up of 65 months, 10 (3 %) women developed contralateral breast cancer, and 68 (22 %) women developed locoregional recurrences and/or distant metastases. Contralateral density reduction ≥10 % showed no association with the occurrence of contralateral breast cancer (hazard ratio [HR], 3.1; p = 0.308) or with locoregional recurrence and/or distant metastasis (HR, 1.1; p = 0.794).
Conclusion: In premenopausal women, a contralateral breast density reduction of ≥10 % after NAC was independently associated with pCR, although it did not translate into improved outcomes.

Abstract Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, there has been an urgent need to provide mental healthcare and share various practices for Ukrainian war refugees. This study urgently focuses on the need for art therapy to support the mental health of Ukrainian refugees, Koryo-saram, who are staying in the Republic of Korea due to the wartime emergency. It also examines the impact of art therapy intervention on anxiety and subjective stress. The single-session art therapy with the 54 Koryo-saram refugees aged 13-68 showed the effectiveness of the art therapy intervention. The results indicate that GAD-7 (

Abstract Background: Schizophrenia requires a community-based intervention approach combined with standard treatment to prevent relapses. A literature review is required to understand the effectiveness of community-based interventions and to enhance quality in countries where they have not been fully established. This is a protocol for a systematic review of the effectiveness of community-based interventions for patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders.
Methods: We will search (from inception to January 2021) PubMed/MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO, CENTRAL, CINAHL, and Research Information Sharing Service/Korean databases. Randomized controlled trials on community-based interventions for patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders will be eligible. The comparison groups will include patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders who are only receiving the usual care and those who also receive community-based interventions. The schizophrenia spectrum disorders referred to in this study are defined according to the DSM-5: delusional disorders, schizophrenic disorders, and schizoaffective disorder will be included. Relapse/re-hospitalization rates (primary outcome) and quality of life (secondary outcome) will be identified for each group. Two reviewers will independently screen study titles, abstract data, and full-text articles and perform the data extraction process. Potential conflicts will be resolved through discussion. The study risk of bias will be appraised using the Cochrane Risk of Bias 2.0 tool. Results will be descriptively synthesized and will be structured according to patients' characteristics, intervention type and exposure, and outcome type. If feasible and appropriate, outcome data will be used to perform random effects meta-analyses. Discrete variables will be calculated via odds ratio, and continuous variables will be calculated via standardized mean difference using RevMan 5.3 software.
Discussion: We will provide a summary of the available evidence on the effectiveness of community-based interventions and specific guidelines to improve their outcomes.
