Abstract This article presents the first history of Colombian zoos and one of the few contributions to the history of these institutions in Latin America. It proposes that in this region's zoos native animals tended to predominate, signaling the increasing transformation of forests and other native ecosystems into croplands and pasturelands, as well as the growing distance between people and natural environments. Colombian zoos additionally underscore the limitations of the State in its period of most rapid expansion. They reveal how private interests overshadowed the State by providing public amenities, but also how they offered unconventional solutions to certain hurdles of State formation.

Abstract Hybrid phospholipid/block copolymer membranes where polymers and lipids are molecularly mixed or phase-separated into polymer-rich and lipid-rich domains are promising drug delivery materials. Harnessing the chemical diversity of polymers and the biocompatability of lipids is a compelling approach to design the next generation of drug carriers. Here, we report on the development of a microfluidics-based strategy analogous to produce lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for the nanomanufacturing of multilayered hybrid nanoparticles (HNPs). Using X-ray scattering, Cryo-electron, and polarized microscopy we show that phosphatidylcholine (PC) and PBD-

Abstract Pancreatobiliary fistulas associated withntraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasm (IPMN) are rare and present therapeutic challenges. The authors describe the clinical course of an 81-year-old woman presenting with acute cholangitis, ultimately diagnosed with IPMN involving secondary ducts with focal high-grade dysplasia. Initial manifestations included elevated inflammatory markers, cholestasis, and imaging findings of a pancreatic lesion. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography revealed dilation of both intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts, along a cystic cluster originating from the pancreas, fistulizing into the common bile duct. Despite initial endoscopic interventions, recurrent cholestasis persisted. Subsequent multidisciplinary evaluation led to a cephalic duodenopancreatectomy. This case underscores the rarity of pancreatobiliary fistulas associated with IPMNs and the subsequent therapeutic challenges. The absence of standardized treatment algorithms for such intricate cases emphasizes the importance of individualized approaches. The fluoroscopy image displaying a cystic cluster originating from the pancreas and showing fistulization into the common bile duct is a rare image presented in our report, unique to this case.

Abstract Pulmonary artery sarcoma (PAS) is a rare and aggressive mesenchymal tumor with an overall poor prognosis1-5. Due to similar clinical and radiologic findings, PAS is often misdiagnosed as a pulmonary embolism (PE) frequently leading to prolonged anticoagulation therapy, which delays the correct diagnosis 1-3. By presenting this clinical case our objective is to emphasize characteristic CT findings that favour a neoplastic origin of a pulmonary intravascular filling defect. PET-CT and MRI have also an important potential role in its diagnosis and therapeutical management.

Abstract Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a rare autoimmune blistering disorder of the skin and mucous membranes. The true prevalence of esophageal involvement is unknown; esophageal symptoms almost always occur in the context of oral mucosa involvement. We report the case of a 66-year-old man with cutaneous blisters and esophageal symptoms that did not respond to acid suppression therapy. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy showed esophageal ulcers and mucosal desquamation. Biopsies were consistent with the diagnosis of PV. The patient was started on immunosuppressive therapy, achieving remission. This represents a rare case of esophageal involvement of PV without mucosal involvement and draws attention to a rare cause of dysphagia, which can be fatal if left untreated.

Abstract Objective: To investigate the frequency and trends of musculoskeletal medical attention injuries occurring in Australian professional musical theatre performers over two consecutive Australian city tours.
Methods: Medical attention performance-related injuries were prospectively reported from 269 professional Australian music theatre performers across nine professional music theatre productions from 2015 to 2020. Medical attention injuries were defined as a presentation to physiotherapy for assessment or treatment of a body region that may or may not have resulted in time lost on stage.
Results: 844 injuries were reported in City 1 and 776 injuries were reported in the City 2. The proportion of performers reporting injuries in City 1 ranged from 39.5% to 96.4% and in City 2, from 15.4% to 92.9%. Cervical spine injuries (ncity1 = 194, ncity2 = 187) were the most prevalent musculoskeletal presentation to physiotherapy followed by lumbar spine (ncity1 = 124, ncity2 = 117) and thoracic spine (ncity1 = 124, ncity2 = 90). There were more acute injuries reported in City 1 than City 2 (adj residuals = -4.09, p < 0.001) and more persistent injuries in City 2 (adj residuals = 4.09, p < 0.001).
Conclusion: Almost half of all injuries requiring medical attention in Australian professional music theatre performers were related to the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, with an increasing trend of cervical spine injury frequency across show durations. The study suggests a need for targeted injury prevention strategies in this population.
