    Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated inequalities related to the digital divide. With wide adoption of remote working and learning, telehealth, and virtual events and social activities, the technology have-nots and know-nots experienced substantial marginalization and elevated risks of COVID-19 exposure in daily lives. This study discusses the pathways through which digital exclusion could aggravate the impacts of the pandemic and explored the linkage between digital access and COVID-19 outcomes in U.S. counties. It finds that counties with higher percentages of digitally excluded populations have seen higher COVID-19 case and death rates throughout the pandemic and lower vaccination rates by January 2022.

    Abstract Introduction and importance: Abdominal cocoon syndrome (ACS), as a rare cause of mechanical intestinal obstruction, can be divided into primary/idiopathic vs. secondary type. The primary ACS is often asymptomatic and only diagnosed in exploratory laparotomy. The major treatment of surgery can be challenging. Since the gut wall and peritoneum are densely adhered, gut perforation might occur during adhesiolysis. Thus, it is important to have an experienced surgeon to perform the surgery.
    Case presentation: The authors present a primary ACS case of a 50-year-old man. The patient demonstrated an unbearable upper abdominal pain upon admission. A computed tomography (CT) scan showed a severe bowel obstruction. An exploratory laparotomy was indicated, leading to the diagnosis of ACS, which was considered idiopathic after ruling out secondary factors. An adhesiolysis was performed successfully. Note that the entire intestine measured was only 2.1 m during the surgery. There was no post-surgical complication. The patient was recovered uneventfully.
    Clinical discussion: The aetiology of primary ACS is unknown. The incidence is comparatively low and considered equal between men and women. As a rare cause of gut obstruction, the suspicion of the diagnosis should be strengthened. Surgery including adhesiolysis and bowel resection remains the major treatment. If adhesiolysis fails, bowel resection will be inevitable. The knowledge and experience of surgeon will be tested.
    Conclusion: The aetiology of primary ACS should be further explored. And the differential diagnosis of bowel obstruction should cover ACS in order for the surgeon to be prepared before surgery.

    Abstract Long-stranded non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are RNA molecules that are longer than 200 nucleotides and do not code for proteins. They play a significant role in various biological processes, including epigenetics, cell cycle, and cell differentiation. Many studies have shown that the occurrence of human cancer is closely related to the abnormal expression of lncRNA. In recent years, lncRNAs have been a hot topic in cancer research. TRPM2-AS, a novel lncRNA, is aberrantly expressed in many human cancers, and its overexpression is strongly linked to poor clinical outcomes in patients. It has been demonstrated that TRPM2-AS acts as a ceRNA, participates in signaling pathways, and interacts with biological proteins and other molecular mechanisms to regulate gene expression. In addition, it can regulate the proliferation, migration, invasion, apoptosis, and treatment resistance of cancer cells. As a result, TRPM2-AS may be a potential target for cancer treatment and a possible biomarker for cancer prognosis. This review outlined the expression, biological processes, and molecular mechanisms of TRPM2-AS in various malignancies, and discussed potential therapeutic uses.

    Abstract Daratumumab is the first CD38 monoclonal antibody drug approved for the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma. It can bind to CD38 expressed by tumor cells, inhibit tumor cell growth and induce myeloma cell apoptosis through a variety of immune-related mechanisms. Meanwhile, CD38 is also expressed in other cells, including regulatory T cells, regulatory B cells and myeloid-derived suppressor cells, which provides a theoretical basis for the treatment of hematological tumor diseases other than non-multiple myeloma diseases. This article reviews the research progress and application of this part.

    Abstract Monitoring of earth-air humidity in soil has revealed extensive rising/falling activity on the land. Alternation of dry and wet air is the main root cause deterioration in cave wall paintings. However, the quantity and spatial distribution of earth-air activity in caves remain unclear. This study used air flowmeters to monitor the earth-air outflow at 136 points on the west, south, and north walls of Cave 108 in the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, and to determine its spatial distribution. Results showed that under the influence of atmospheric fluctuation, there is frequent air exchange between the atmosphere and the earth-air, and that the daily outflow of earth-air from Cave 108 is 50.893 m
