Materials and methods: This study included 134 patients. Metabolic parameters were obtained by PET/CT. Immunohistochemistry analysis was used for FOXP3-TILs (transcription factor forkhead box protein 3 tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes), CD8-TILs, CD4-TILs, CD68-TAMs (tumour-associated macrophages) and galectin-1 (Gal-1) tumour expression.
Results: There were significant positive associations between FDG PET metabolic parameters and the median percentage of immune reactive areas (IRA%) covered by FOXP3-TILs and CD68-TAMs. Negative associations with the median IRA% covered by CD4-TILs and CD8-TILs were observed: maximal standardised uptake value (SUV
Conclusion: FDG PET may facilitate a comprehensive evaluation of the tumour microenvironment and predict response to immunotherapy.

Abstract The prevalence of iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) is high in China, especially among children, the elderly and pregnant women. It can be associated with a variety of diseases involving major systems, and even cause irreversible damage to the immune and nervous system. It is noteworthy that only less than 20% of the IDA population have access to timely treatment. This requires attention towards the standardized diagnosis and treatment of IDA with multidisciplinary collaboration. This article reviews the recent research updates of IDA, revealing the new findings in the harms of IDA, current challenges in the treatment of IDA, and the latest research and development progress of intravenous iron. The aim is to provide guidance and suggestions on timely diagnosis and proper treatment of IDA.

Abstract The mesentery is a continuous unity and the operation of digestive carcinoma is the process of mesenteric resection. This paper attempts to simplify the formation process of all kinds of fusion fascia in the process of digestive tract embryogenesis, and to illuminate the continuity of fusion fascia with a holistic concept. This is helpful for beginners to reversely dissect the fusion fascia and maintain the correct surgical plane during operation, and to achieve the purpose of complete mesenteric resection.

Abstract To investigate the safety and feasibility of gasless total endoscopic resection of deep lobe parotid gland tumors via a postauricular hairline plus temporal approach. The approach was designed as: a 4 to 5 cm main incision was designed at the postauricular hairline, and a 0.5 cm auxiliary incision was designed in the temporal hairline. The operating cavity was established with the assistance of a special retractor. "Anterograde" dissection of the facial nerve was performed throughout the procedure, along with partial or total gland removal of the tumor. All 16 operations were successfully completed without conversion to open surgery. During the operation, the trunk and branches of the facial nerve were completely preserved, the tumor was completely removed, and the incision healed. Six patients had mild facial paralysis after operation, and recovered completely after 3 to 6 months. There was no salivary fistula, Frey syndrome, infection, or other complications. The postoperative incision was concealed and the aesthetic effect was good. The postauricular hairline plus temporal approach gasless total endoscopic parotidectomy is safe and feasible. This technique can achieve the complete dissection of the total trunk to the branches of the facial nerve, and has good access to the tumors located in any part of the parotid gland region. On the basis of radical resection of the tumor, it achieves minimally invasive and aesthetic improvement.

Abstract Mitochondria, as the main site of cell metabolism and energy generation, contains the genome encoding the respiratory chain-associated complexes. Deletions or mutations of mitochondria will lead to mitochondrial respiratory chain deficiencies and these deficiencies play an important role in metabolic reprogramming which is considered as one of the important features of tumorigenesis and development. Many studies have found that tunneling nanotube (TNT), a well-established mitochondrial transfer pathway, is able to restore mitochondrial respiratory deficiencies. This review article focuses on the occurrence of mitochondrial transfer, the mechanism of TNT formation and the promising therapeutic targets acting on mitochondrial transfer.

Abstract Objective: Hysterectomy is one of the most common gynecological surgeries conducted around the world. Previous studies reported inconsistent results on depressive symptoms experienced after hysterectomy. This study explored the association between hysterectomy with or without oophorectomy and the use of antidepressants.
Study design: This cross-sectional study included 4888 subjects between 20 and 80 years old who participated in the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) between 2015 and 2018. The associations between hysterectomy with or without oophorectomy and the use of antidepressants were estimated using multivariable logistic regression models.
Main outcome measures: There was a positive relationship between hysterectomy, both with and without oophorectomy, and the use of antidepressants after adjusting for all potential confounders (OR = 2.13, 95 % CI = 1.43-3.17, p = 0.000; OR = 2.04, 95 % CI = 1.35-3.06 p = 0.001). In the subgroup analysis stratified by race, a positive association between hysterectomy without oophorectomy was found among non-Hispanic white women (OR = 1.89, 95 % CI = 1.04-3.44, p = 0.038) and women of other races (OR = 3.14, 95 % CI = 1.30-7.56, p = 0.010), and a positive association between hysterectomy with oophorectomy was found among non-Hispanic black women (OR = 3.09, 95 % CI = 1.15-8.27, p = 0.024). However, no association was found among non-Hispanic black and Mexican American women who had undergone hysterectomy with oophorectomy, and it was not reported in women of non-Hispanic white, Mexican American or other race who underwent hysterectomy with oophorectomy.
Conclusion: This study suggested that hysterectomy was significantly associated with antidepressant use, but the extent of the associations may vary by race.
