Abstract We study a disclosure game in which a sender privately knows how much information she possesses and can disclose verifiable information to persuade a receiver to provide a higher reward. The receiver may attribute any imprecise disclosure to the sender concealing unfavorable information. We show that the most unfavorable possibility contained in information possessed by the sender will be fully revealed to the receiver.

Abstract This study addresses the critical global challenge of climate change, primarily caused by the overconsumption of fossil fuels. Recognizing the urgent need for a transition to green energy (GE) sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and biomass, this research focuses on identifying effective strategies for fostering a sustainable and low-carbon energy future in China. The study employs a combination of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and fuzzy Decision-making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), both well-established multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods, to analyze various drivers, sub-drivers, and strategies crucial for this transition. Through an extensive literature review, we identified several key drivers and strategies aiding the shift towards GE for sustainable development. The AHP method was applied to evaluate and rank the major drivers and sub-drivers, such as policy, financing, and infrastructure and innovation, that are crucial for China's successful transition to GE. Simultaneously, fuzzy DEMATEL was utilized to prioritize vital strategies, including public awareness and education, financial incentives and support mechanisms, and policy and regulatory frameworks. The findings reveal that, in addition to strong policy and financial support, public awareness and education are critical for advancing GE development in China. This study underscores the importance of integrating various drivers and strategies for effective green energy development, aiming to mitigate the environmental impacts of fossil fuel use.

Abstract Many studies have investigated language poverty related to aspects of economic assistance, water scarcity, gender inequality, climate change, etc. However, a focus on language policy discourse has been lacking. Language policy discourse is vital because it can be deemed as preliminary to language poverty alleviation action, influencing the success of its implementation. To fill this gap, this study employed positive discourse analysis to investigate discursive strategies used in the discourse of language poverty alleviation in Chinese language policies. The finding shows that through four main discursive strategies-nomination, argumentation, perspectivisation, and predication-official documents concerning language poverty alleviation constructed motivational discourse and applied campaign-style mobilisation to encourage people to follow the implementation of language poverty alleviation. This study sheds light on the official purpose of using certain discursive strategies in language poverty alleviation discourse and some ideological implications behind it and sets an example of the popularisation of official languages to tackle poverty alleviation from a linguistic perspective for other countries/regions.

Abstract This work attempts to investigate the inhibitory effect of L-lysine (Lys) on the thermal aggregation of coconut protein (CP). The results showed that under neutral conditions (pH = 7), temperature reduced the solubility and enhanced the thermally induced gel formation of CP. In addition, Lys reduced the fluorescence properties, particle size and increased the turbidity of CP, which had an inhibitory effect on heat induced gels. The results indicate that Lys plays an important role in inhibiting protein thermal aggregation by interacting with CP to create steric hindrance and increase protein electrostatic repulsion.

Abstract The importance of localized molecular orbitals (MOs) in correlation treatments beyond mean-field calculation and in the illustration of chemical bonding (and antibonding) can hardly be overstated. However, the generation of orthonormal localized occupied MOs is significantly more straightforward than obtaining orthonormal localized virtual MOs. Orthonormal MOs allow facile use of highly efficient group theoretical methods (e.g., graphical unitary group approach) for calculation of Hamiltonian matrix elements in multireference configuration interaction calculations (such as MRCISD) and in quasi-degenerate perturbation treatments, such as the Generalized Van Vleck Perturbation Theory. Moreover, localized MOs can elucidate qualitative understanding of bonding in molecules, in addition to high-accuracy quantitative descriptions. We adopt the powers of the fourth moment cost function introduced by Jørgensen and coworkers. Because the fourth moment cost functions are prone to having multiple negative Hessian eigenvalues when starting from easily available canonical (or near-canonical) MOs, standard optimization algorithms can fail to obtain the orbitals of the virtual or partially occupied spaces. To overcome this drawback, we applied a trust region algorithm on an orthonormal Riemannian manifold with an approximate retraction from the tangent space built into the first and second derivatives of the cost function. Moreover, the Riemannian trust region outer iterations were coupled to truncated Conjugate Gradient inner loops, which avoided any costly solutions of simultaneous linear equations or eigenvector/eigenvalue solutions. Numerical examples are provided on model systems, including the high-connectivity H

Abstract A 66-year-old woman presented to our hospital with a long history of solid food dysphagia. Gastroscopy revealed that esophagus was distorted and slightly narrow in the middle section. High-resolution esophageal manometry testing was used to assess the esophageal motor function. We tried to insert the manometric catheter into the patient's stomach, but found that when the patient swallowed, the picture presented an up-down symmetry phenomenon, and the esophageal peristalsis lost its normal slope. Therefore, we believed that the manometer catheter folded back cephalad at her upper esophagus, demonstrating a strange appearance of a curly manometry catheter. Subsequently, a barium esophagram was performed and revealed that there was a stenosis in the middle of the esophagus, and the narrowest of which was about 2cm in diameter. We reviewed the computed tomography and found the aortic arch of the patient was compressing on her esophagus, causing local lumen stenosis.

Abstract Narrow linewidth lasers have a wide range of applications in the fields of coherent optical communications, atomic clocks, and measurement. Lithium niobate material possesses excellent electro-optic and thermo-optic properties, making it an ideal photonic integration platform for a new generation. The light source is a crucial element in large-scale photonic integration. Therefore, it is essential to develop integrated narrow linewidth lasers based on low-loss LNOI. This study is based on the multimode race-track type add-drop microring resonator with multimode interferometric coupler (MMRA-MRR) of the DFB laser self-injection-locked, to achieve the narrowing of linewidth to the laser. The microring external cavity was used to narrow the linewidth of the laser to 2.5 kHz. The output power of the laser is 3.18 mW, and the side-mode suppression ratio is 60 dB. This paper presents an integrated low-noise, narrow-linewidth laser based on thin-film lithium niobate material for the communication band. This is significant for achieving all-optical device on-chip integration of lithium niobate material in the future. It has great potential for use in high-speed coherent optical communication.
