Abstract Music genre categorization is a fundamental use of sound processing methods in the realm of music retrieval. Typically, people are responsible for categorizing music genres. Machine learning approaches can automate this procedure. Therefore, in recent years, several approaches have been suggested to achieve this objective. Nevertheless, the given findings indicate that there is still a discrepancy between the observed results and an optimal categorization method. Hence, this paper introduces a novel approach for accurately forecasting music genres by using deep learning methodologies. The proposed approach involves preprocessing the input signals and then representing the characteristics of each signal using a combination of Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) and Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) features. Subsequently, a convolutional neural network (CNN) is applied to process each group of these characteristics. The proposed technique utilizes two CNN models to analyze MFCC and STFT data. Although the structure of these models is identical, the hyper-parameters of each model are individually adjusted using the black hole optimization (BHO) algorithm. Here, the optimization method fine-tunes the hyperparameters of each CNN model to minimize their training error. Ultimately, the results of two Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models are combined to determine the music genre using a classifier based on SoftMax. The efficacy of the suggested methodology in categorizing music genres has been assessed using the GTZAN and Extended-Ballroom datasets. The experimental findings demonstrated that the suggested approach achieved classification accuracies of 95.2 % and 95.7 % in the two datasets, respectively, indicating its superiority over earlier efforts.

Abstract Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based geological mapping is significant for understanding the geological structure in the high-steep slopes, but the images obtained in these areas are inevitably influenced by the backlit effect because of the undulating terrain and the viewpoint change of the camera mounted on the UAV. To handle this concern, a novel backlit image restoration method is proposed that takes the real-world application into account and addresses the color distortion issue existing in backlit images captured in high-steep slope scenes. Specifically, there are two main steps in the proposed method, which consist of the backlit removal and the color and detail enhancement. The backlit removal first eliminates the backlit effect using the Retinex strategy, and then the color and detail enhancement step improves the image color and sharpness. The author designs extensive comparison experiments from multiple angles and applies the proposed method to different engineering applications. The experimental results show that the proposed method has potential compared to other main-stream methods both in qualitative visual effects and universal quantitative evaluation metrics. The backlit images processed by the proposed method are significantly improved by the process of feature key point matching, which is very conducive to the fine construction of 3D geological models of the high-steep slope.

Abstract Background: The application of gene editing technology in the field of endangered plant and animal conservation has innovative and prospective value in saving endangered plant and animal populations, but it also poses challenges to the ecological environment and bioethical norms. Gene editing has impacted China's animal and plant protection legal system, and this study aims to provide solutions for China to regulate gene editing of endangered plants and animals. The study concludes that China should enact specific legislation on gene editing of endangered plants and animals, abide by the concept of biosafety, and aim to maintain biodiversity and ecological balance; under the supervision of the ecological and environmental departments, the regulation of gene editing of endangered plants and animals should adopt a hybrid model of "combining the product and the process", and establish a system of registration, labeling, and responsibility. The ownership of gene-edited endangered animals and plants should adhere to the compound ownership model, recognizing that the State, collectives and individuals can all be owners within the scope of legal authorization.

Title translation Diagnostic significance and considerations of growth hormone stimulation testing and insulin-like growth factor 1 in growth hormone deficiency.
Abstract The growth hormone (GH)/insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) axis is an essential component of the hypothalamic-pituitary growth hormone axis and plays a crucial role in childhood growth and development. Disruptions and abnormalities in the GH/IGF-1 signaling pathway and its pathways typically manifest as short stature in children. Children with short stature often undergo GH stimulation testing and IGF-1 level measurements to differentiate growth hormone deficiency (GHD) from other causes of growth delay. This article aims to analyze and elucidate the values of GH stimulation testing and IGF-1 measurement, providing reference for the diagnosis of GHD in children.

Abstract Background: Pancreatic cavernous hemangioma (pCH) is a rare type of benign vascular tumor. Making the right diagnosis is challenging due to low clinical suspicion and the lack of existing cross-sectional imaging tools to distinguish it from other pancreatic lesions.
Case summary: We describe a male patient, age 18, who presented with a pCH. Computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasound showed cystic space in the tail of the pancreas. A dark spot sign on the T2 weighted image sequence was observed. Clinically, a mucinous cystic neoplasm with hemorrhage was suspected preoperatively by combining imaging, and the operative indication was clear. The patient underwent a distal pancreatic tumor resection under laparoscopic control. Immunohistochemical staining for CD31 and CD34 was positive; D2-40 was positive in interstitial lymphatic vessels and negative in vascular epithelial cells; and calcium-binding protein was negative. The results support the diagnosis of pCH combined with chronic intracapsular spontaneous hemorrhage. No complications or recurrences were observed during the follow-up period.
Conclusion: Chronic spontaneous hemorrhage may occur in pCH, which may greatly influence the accuracy of diagnosis using imaging modalities. Surgical resection for uncertain pCH seems reasonable with a good outcome.
