    Abstract Under the threat of the novel coronavirus, people are compelled to contemplate some ultimate existential questions, such as life and death. This study collected texts related to the death psychology from Sina Weibo, and after data cleaning, a total of 3868 Weibo texts were included. Study 1 employed grounded theory from qualitative research to explore the core categories and evolutionary mechanisms of people's psychology when facing death threats in the context of the pandemic. Study 2 utilized big data mining techniques such as topic mining and semantic network analysis to validate the effectiveness of the death psychology theory developed in qualitative research. The findings demonstrate that within the "Emotion-Cognition-Behavior-Value" framework, the implications of death threats manifest in four aspects: death anxiety, death cognition, coping efficacy, and sense of meaning. As time progresses, the study of death psychology can be segmented into four distinct phases: the tranquil phase prior to lifting pandemic restrictions, the threat phase at lifting pandemic restrictions onset, the coping phase mid-lifting pandemic restrictions, and the reformative phase post-lifting pandemic restrictions. The calculated outcomes of topic mining and semantic network analysis corroborate the coding results and theories derived from the grounded theory. This reaffirms that data mining technology can be a potent tool for validating grounded theory.

    Abstract Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare postoperative complication that is sometimes characterized by serious motor weakness and prolonged weaning from mechanical ventilation. Although the exact nature of the relationship between GBS and the surgical procedure is still unclear, there is a clear increased incidence of GBS in post-surgical patients compared to non-surgical patients. GBS after surgery is unique in several ways. The course of post-surgical GBS unfolds more rapidly than in other situations where GBS develops, the condition is often more severe, and respiratory muscles are more commonly involved. Prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment are essential, and the condition can worsen if treated inappropriately. Postoperative sedation, intubation, and restraint use make the diagnosis of GBS difficult, as the onset of symptoms of weakness or numbness in those contexts are not obvious. GBS is often misdiagnosed, being attributed to other postoperative complications, and subsequently mishandled. The lack of relevant information further obscures the clinical picture. We sought to better understand post-surgical GBS by performing an analysis of the relevant literature, focusing on clearly documenting the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, and management of GBS that emerges following surgery. We underscore the importance of physicians being aware of the possibility of GBS after major surgery and of performing a variety of laboratory clinical investigations early on in suspected cases.

    Abstract To compare the predictive ability and reliability of two pressure injury (PI) assessment tools, the Neonatal/Infant(N/I) Braden Q and Braden QD scale, in neonates. A prospective and cross-sectional study. This study was conducted in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of a tertiary-level university hospital in China between April and June 2023. A total of 410 patients were included in this study. Risk assessment was performed with the N/I Braden Q scale, followed immediately with the Braden QD scale once daily. Risk assessment was terminated when the PI developed or the patient was discharged from the NICU or died. Each patient's final risk assessment was considered in the data analysis. The area under the curve (AUC) of the two scales was 0.879 and 0.857, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and Cronbach's α coefficient of the N/I Braden Q Scale scores were 0.844, 0.833, 0.30, 0.984 and 0.806, respectively. The Braden QD scale scores were 0.938, 0.733, 0.229, 0.993 and 0.727, respectively. Both scales are valid and reliable in predicting the risk of PI in the NICU. The N/I Braden Q Scale was better to distinguish patients at PI risk and not at PI risk than the Braden QD scale. The literature is limited on this topic. This study provides insight into the comparison of different pressure injury risk assessment scales. The findings of this study may guide nurses to choose a suitable tool to assess the risk of pressure injury in neonates.

    Abstract Epicutaneo-caval catheter (ECC) has been widely used in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). ECC line Knots in intravascular is an unexpected complication and has been reported in adults mostly. Few cases reported knot formation during ECC insertion and removal in neonates.     Abstract The storage and transmission of videos at high spatial resolution remain a great challenge in image-based optical techniques. The uncertainty of digital image correlation (DIC) was assessed following speckle video compression under High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC/H.265). First, the evaluation criterion for the DIC accuracy affected by compression was provided. The stability of H.265 video compression in DIC was studied considering different compressed frames under different target quantization parameters (QPs) and compression ratios (CRs). The deformation uncertainty of the DIC itself as affected by H.265 video compression was further investigated through uniform translation and non-uniform sinusoidal deformation performance. Moreover, the optimized digital speckle pattern (DSP) was re-evaluated considering video compression-induced uncertainty. DSPs with parameters of different diameters and randomness were compressed using various QPs and CRs. In addition, DSP evaluation was performed under both translation and non-homogeneous deformation conditions. The feasibility of the re-optimized DSP under H.265 video compression was validated using a defective bending beam, and DSP videos with a speckle size of 8 pixels reached a high CR within an acceptable margin of error.

    Abstract Existing studies have shown that temperature is related to mental illness and sleep disorders. However, few studies have explored the relationship between temperature and microblog negative emotions (MNE) and the predictive effect of MNE on sleep disorders. The present study elucidating the temperature patterns of MNE and sleep disorders, examines the predictive capability of these adverse emotions in precipitating sleep disorders, and operating within the schema of "climate-psychology-behavior". A negative binomial regression model (NBR) was formulated, amalgamating Temperature data, negative affective information procured from microblog, and sleep disorder records. Temperature and Apparent Air Temperature (AAT) were found to have a non-linear association with microblog negative emotions and sleep disorders, exhibiting a modest effect within a specified range, while extreme temperatures (both high and low) demonstrated substantial effects. In the constructed model, gender serves as a moderating factor, with females being more susceptible to temperature and AAT effects on MNE and sleep disorders than their male counterparts. Interestingly, AAT surfaced as a superior predictor compared to actual temperature. MNE were effective predictors of sleep disorders. Employing social media-centric models, as showcased in this study, augments the identification and prevention strategies targeting disease symptoms or pathologies within mental and public health domains.

    Abstract This is a retrospective study of clinical data from 106 patients with pyogenic liver abscess (PLA) treated in a traditional Chinese hospital during the eight years preceding this publication. We aimed to provide evidence to improve the diagnosis accuracy and the treatment strategies for PLAs. We collected records of patients treated at the Guangxing Hospital, which is affiliated to the Zhejiang Traditional Chinese University in Hangzhou, and we collected their general background information, laboratory and imaging features, and clinical manifestations and outcomes to perform a retrospective analysis. Diabetes mellitus (45.3%, 48/106), biliary calculi (36.8%, 39/106), and history of abdominal surgery (15.1%, 16/106) were the three most common PLA risk factors present in our cohort. Fever and chills (95.3%, 101/106), right upper quadrant pain/epigastric discomfort (68.9%, 73/106), nausea and vomiting (38.8%, 41/106), and cough and sputum (14.2%, 15/106) were the most common clinical manifestations of PLA.     Abstract Background: This study aimed to compare the predictive values of eight scoring systems (Neonatal Critical Illness Score [NCIS], Neonatal Therapeutical Intervention Score System [NTISS], Clinical Risk Index for Babies [CRIB], Clinical Risk Index for Babies II [CRIB-II], Score for Neonatal Acute Physiology Perinatal Extension [SNAPPE], Score for Neonatal Acute Physiology Perinatal Extension II [SNAPPE-II], Score for Neonatal Acute Physiology [SNAP], and Score for Neonatal Acute Physiology II [SNAP-II]) for the mortality risk among preterm infants.
    Methods: The Embase, PubMed, Chinese Biomedical Database, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases were searched to collect studies that compared different scoring systems in predicting the mortality risk in preterm infants from database inception to March 2023. Literature screening, data extraction, and bias risk assessment were independently conducted by two researchers. Subsequently, the random-effects model was used for the network meta-analysis.
    Results: A total of 19 articles were included, comprising 14,377 preterm infants and 8 scoring systems. Compared to CRIB-II, NCIS, NTISS, SNAP-II, and SNAPPE-II, CRIB demonstrated better predictive efficiency for preterm infant mortality risk (
    Conclusion: The CRIB scoring system showed the highest accuracy in predicting preterm infant mortality risk and was simple to perform. Therefore, CRIB selection can be prioritized in clinical practice.

    Abstract Purpose: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been gradually regarded as influential indicators of various cancers. The present study aimed to identify the effects of lncRNA HOTAIR on cervical cancer progression.
    Methods: RNA and protein expressions were quantified by RT-qPCR and western blot assays. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assay was carried out to examine the intracellular location of HOTAIR. Cancer cell viability and mobility were detected by CCK-8, colony formation, transwell and wound healing assays. Binding relationships between miR-331-3p and HOTAIR/RCC2 were validated by luciferase reporter assay.
    Results: RT-qPCR assays showed that HOTAIR levels were notably upregulated in cervical cancer tissues and cell lines. Furthermore, a fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assay suggested that HOTAIR was mostly located in the cytoplasm of cancer cells, indicating a sponging function. CCK-8, colony formation, Transwell and wound-healing assays indicated that knockdown of HOTAIR in HeLa and SiHa cells significantly reduced cell growth, migration and invasion. Subsequently, miR-331-3p was proven to be the target molecule of HOTAIR. In addition, results from Pearson's correlation analysis indicated negative correlation between HOTAIR and miR-331-3p in cervical cancer tissues. HOTAIR negatively modulated miR-331-3p expression. Ultimately, the target gene of miR-331-3p was verified to be RCC2, and miR-331-3p negatively modulated RCC2 expression. In addition, analysis on clinical cervical cancer tissues confirmed the negative correlation between miR-331-3p and RCC2. HOTAIR and RCC2 showed oncogenic functions in HeLa and SiHa cells, while miR-331-3p exerted the reverse effect.
    Conclusions: HOTAIR plays a carcinogenic role in cervical cancer by targeting the miR-331-3p/RCC2 axis. Moreover, clinical cervical cancer tissues confirmed the negative correlation between miR-331-3p with lncRNA HOTAIR and RCC2. These data suggested an underlying therapeutic target for cervical cancer.

    Abstract To present information on infectious diseases caused by viruses clearly and track the changes of data in real-time, data visualization can be used preferentially considering that it can identify problems behind data accurately. In this paper, based on the SuperMap Online platform and Tianditu, a national platform for common geospatial information services, a risk level map of infectious diseases distribution area is made by Web GIS and cartography. Meanwhile, the platform plays an important role in information collection, management, analysis, prevention and control, and release of measures when a major health event spreads. The method shows many advantages, such as various visualization means, ease to be published and shared, simple operation, and programming realization, which may be taken as technical references for solving the same type of visualization application problems. The research also facilitates the data visualization and monitoring of the spread of infectious diseases in major health events, and can effectively provide services for monitoring, decision-making, dispatching, and handling the spread of infectious diseases.
