Abstract Introduction: This study investigates the influence of online collaborative writing instruction on the writing performance, writing self-efficacy, and writing motivation of Chinese English as a foreign language (EFL) learners. The research was conducted at a language school in mainland China with 58 participants divided into an experimental group (n=30) and a control group (n=28).
Methods: The experimental group utilized Tencent Docs, an online platform, for collaborative writing and peer-editing activities outside the classroom, while the control group received traditional in-class instruction. The study spanned a duration of 13 weeks, during which writing tasks, writing motivation scales, and writing self-efficacy scales were employed to collect data.
Results: The findings revealed that the experimental group exhibited significantly greater improvement in writing performance, motivation, and self-efficacy compared to the control group. These results indicate the positive impact of incorporating Tencent Docs into collaborative writing instruction.
Discussion: The outcomes of this study provide valuable insights for language educators regarding the benefits of integrating online tools into EFL instruction to enhance writing skills. By leveraging platforms like Tencent Docs for collaborative writing, instructors can foster improved performance, increased motivation, and enhanced self-efficacy among EFL learners. Overall, this research highlights the effectiveness of online collaborative writing instruction and its potential as a valuable tool for language educators seeking to optimize EFL learners' writing abilities.

Abstract Lassa fever (LF), a haemorrhagic fever disease caused by Lassa virus (LASV), is a serious public health burden in West Africa. The Mano River region (Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, and Côte d'Ivoire) has been an endemic focus of the disease over the past decades. Here, we deciphered the genetic basis underlying LF endemics in this region. Clade model and type I functional divergence analyses revealed that the major LASV group, Kenema sub-clade, which is currently circulating in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone, has been affected by different selective pressure compared to isolates from the other areas with effects on the viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (L protein) and probably nucleoprotein (NP). Further, contingency analysis showed that, in the early endemic, the sub-clade has undergone adaptive diversification via acceleration of amino acid substitutions in L protein. These findings highlight the key viral factor and local adaptation regarding the endemicity of LF.

Abstract Background: The detection and prevalence of idiopathic membranous nephropathy in China are increasing yearly. However, the current treatment of idiopathic membranous nephropathy relies on empirical treatment regimens such as hormones and immunosuppressants, with unclear prognosis and easy recurrence.
Methods: Eight databases were searched to obtain controlled trials on the effects of mycophenolate mofetil combined with hormones in the treatment of idiopathic membranous nephropathy. After literature quality evaluation, data analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software.
    Results: 12 studies were ultimately included in this meta-analysis. 12 studies reported that, compared with the control group, the effective rate (OR: 1.15; 95% CI: 1.06, 1.26; P < .001), 24hUP (SMD:-0.35; 95% CI: -0.47, -0.23; P < .001), Alb (SMD: 1.92; 95% CI: -0.51, 4.36; P = .122), Scr (SMD: 4.44; 95% CI: -10.26, 1.38; P = .135), TG (SMD: 0.51; 95% CI: 0.88, 0.15; P < .01) and adverse events (OR: 0.86; 95% CI: 0.67,1.11; P = .255) of the test group was significantly higher.
Conclusion: The results of this study suggested that mycophenolate mofetil combined with hormone may be effective on patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy, as evidenced by effective rate, 24hUP, Alb, Scr, TG, adverse events, and the above conclusions need to be verified by more high-quality studies.

Abstract Currently, the global consumer market is moving toward digitalization, and cross-border e-commerce enterprises are no exception and have to make adjustments in their operational strategies. Digitalization brings complexity, dynamism, and fragmentation in sales channels, media environment, and consumer behavior, requiring cross-border e-commerce enterprises to react more quickly and timely, and the need for intelligent operations is becoming more and more urgent. In this paper, through the problem of predicting the e-commerce user behavior process, the model usually needs to focus on both long-term preferences and short-term preferences of e-commerce users in the current behavior sequence; otherwise, the behavior prediction will be much less effective. Specifically, through a comprehensive analysis of typical cases, the strategies and problems in the intelligent operation process of China’s cross-border e-commerce enterprises at the present stage are discussed, and corresponding suggestions are put forward, so as to promote the rapid development of China’s cross-border e-commerce enterprises.
