Abstract "Singapore has faced many pandemics over the centuries, from plague, smallpox and cholera to influenza and novel coronaviruses. By examining how different governments responded, this book considers what we can learn from their experiences. Public health strategies in the city-state were often affected by issues of ethnicity and class, as well as failure to take heed of key learnings from previous outbreaks. Pandemics are a recurrent and normal feature of the human experience. Alongside medical innovation and evidence-based policymaking, the study of history is also crucial in preparing for future pandemics"-- Provided by publisher.

Abstract The time series data of Heilongjiang Province from 2000-2019 were selected to measure carbon emissions in Heilongjiang Province according to the IPCC calculation formula. On this basis, a vector autoregressive model between economic growth, industrial structure, energy intensity, energy structure and carbon emissions is established, and the EG test and impulse response function are used to conduct an empirical study. The results show that: there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between carbon emissions and economic scale, industrial structure, energy intensity and energy structure; the optimization of industrial structure and energy structure will suppress the increase of carbon emissions, while the growth of economic scale and energy intensity will promote the increase of carbon emissions.

Title translation Considerations on the improvement of height benefit in children with central precocious puberty.
Abstract With the changes in various factors such as genetics and the environment, the incidence of childhood precocious puberty has been gradually increasing. Improving height is one of the key issues in the clinical management of precocious puberty. Currently, gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs (GnRHa) remain the preferred treatment for precocious puberty, but their effect on height improvement is influenced by multiple factors, which may result in lower-than-expected height benefits. Combining recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) therapy with GnRHa treatment is an alternative strategy to enhance the efficacy of GnRHa, but there is still no clear recommendation regarding the timing of their combination. Considering the current status of precocious puberty treatment, it is crucial to reevaluate the effects of GnRHa monotherapy and combination therapy with rhGH on height improvement. This article discusses strategies such as combination therapy indications to guide clinical medication and help children with precocious puberty achieve optimal height benefits.

Abstract Objectives: Rapid growth in pharmaceutical spending is a major challenge in Canada. To control rising costs, the Canadian government implemented a generic pricing policy in 2013, which reduced prices for some prescription generic drugs by roughly 50%. This article explores the effects of the Canadian pricing policy on drug expenditures and drug utilization among seniors.
Methods: Using a unique prescription claims data, this article adopts a difference-in-differences methodology to estimate the policy effects, and it further investigates the mechanisms by exploring the demand-side incentives and the role of health insurance design with a triple-difference approach.
Results: Exploiting the policy variation across drugs and provinces, the results suggest that the policy has reduced drug expenditure per capita, largely because of the inelastic demand among seniors. Although the policy leads to lower out-of-pocket costs for seniors facing coinsurance than for those with a fixed copayment, individual utilization and total demand display no differences across cost sharing.
Conclusions: The price regulation in Canada was successful in reducing drug expenditures per capita. The success rests on the interaction with demand-side regulations and demand incentives. The evidence of cost containment in Canada can provide some insights to other countries with similar needs and priority.

Abstract With the continuous development of Internet technology, e-commerce has gradually become a popular field. As an important part of China’s tertiary industry, the rapid development of e-commerce has played a huge role in promoting the development of the domestic economy. At the same time, e-commerce has also greatly contributed to the development of the logistics industry. Hence, with the rapid growth of the economy and the rapid development of e-commerce, the construction of logistics and distribution systems plays an essential role in the process of urban development. A perfect logistics and distribution system can promote the overall economic efficiency of the city and facilitate people’s daily lives. In addition, the development of logistics systems can meet the escalating needs of consumers and the increasingly competitive market environment, thus promoting the transformation of e-commerce retail enterprises to high-quality development. The simulated annealing algorithm is an effective approximation algorithm for solving optimization problems, and the application of this algorithm to path optimization problems can be of practical value in solving problems in urban road traffic and logistics distribution. Therefore, exploring logistics distribution vehicle route optimization is of great practical significance to optimize the allocation of resources in cities, improve the economic efficiency of enterprises, and solve the problems of urban traffic congestion and can provide reference for relevant departments in their decision-making. This paper focuses on how to optimize vehicle paths in the logistics distribution process and constructs a path optimization model that satisfies the multiobjective premise. The path problem is solved using the simulated annealing algorithm, and the results are analyzed.

Abstract As one of the three 5G application scenarios, URLLC has the characteristics of ultra-low latency and ultra-high reliability, and becomes an important breakthrough for traditional communication to enter vertical industries. This paper firstly analyzes the key technologies of low delay and high reliability of URLLC, as well as the related technologies enhanced by URLLC. Futhermore, the examples of 3.5 GHz networks of both China Telecom and China Unicom are adopted to analyze the adaptability of URLLC in TDD networks. Research shows that URLLC technology can maintain the characteristics of low latency and high reliability through a variety of paths, and its adaptability in the Internet also presents a stable trend.
