Abstract The present work investigates quadratic convection on magnetized viscous fluid flow on a circular elastic surface susceptible to Rosseland nonlinear thermal radiation and the nonlinear Boussinesq approximation. The flow is traversing through a Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer porous material. The energy equation investigates the implications of heat source/sink, Joule heating, and viscous dissipation. Utilizing suitable similarity variables, the hypothesized mathematical modelling is converted into nonlinear systems. Numerical solutions of nonlinear differential equations are computed using the spectral technique, often recognized as the spectral local linearization method (SLLM). The proposed approach SLLM is based on decoupling and linearizing systems of linear equations using a basic linearization process combined with spectral collocation linearization. The computational findings for nondimensional parameters are reported for the velocity and temperature profiles. As a particular case of our investigation, we also perform a comparison with published results.

Abstract Abstract Aim To determine the effectiveness and safety of photoactivated chromophore-corneal cross-linking (PACK-CXL) adjuvant in infectious keratitis by April 5, 2022. Methods We searched randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing standard antibiotic treatment (SAT) plus PACK-CXL to SAT in infectious keratitis in Embase, MEDLINE with PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library. We independently screened and extracted data using predesigned tables. Cochrane’s risk-of-bias tool was utilized to examine the quality of RCTs. A random-effects model was employed to determine the overall effect size of the meta-analyses. Grading of Recommendations, and Assessment, Development and Evaluations (GRADE) was also performed to examine the quality of evidence. Results Seven eligible RCTs with 283 patients were acquired. Adjuvant PACK-CXL reduced the time needed to perform corneal healing in fungal keratitis (− 1.33 months; 95% CI, − 1.83 to − 0.42, I 2 = 0%, P < 0.05) as compared to SAT alone. The risks of adverse events were not significantly different both in fungal and bacterial keratitis. Due to the substantial heterogeneity among studies, such as population, the type and severity of infectious keratitis, drug regimens of SAT, PACK-CXL protocol, and the judgment of subjective outcomes, the evidence grade was low. Conclusion Adjuvant PACK-CXL accelerates fungal keratitis healing as compared to SAT alone. But more rigorous RCTs are required to determine the clinical effectiveness and safety.

Abstract Near-infrared (NIR) light has many applications in agriculture, transportation, medicine, the military, and other fields. Lead phthalocyanine (PbPc) exhibits excellent near-infrared (NIR) light absorption characteristics and is widely used in NIR-sensitive organic photodetectors. In this work, PbPc-based NIR organic phototransistors (OPTs) with different active layer structures were designed and fabricated. The photo-absorption characteristics of organic films, photosensitive properties, and air stability of the devices were investigated. The results suggested that (i) the bilayer planar heterojunction (PHJ) devices exhibit far better photosensitive performance than the single layer ones due to higher mobility of the formers than the latters; (ii) the bilayer PHJ ones with p-type channel have equivalent photosensitive performance to those with n-type channel owing to equivalent mobility, higher NIR absorption and lower exciton dissociation efficiency of the formers than the latters; (iii) the bilayer PHJ ones with p-type channel possess superior air stability to those with n-type channel thanks to better air stability of pentacene channel layer than C 60 channel layer; (iv) the tri-layer PHJ ones perform better than the bilayer PHJ ones with p-type channel and exhibit a high photoresponsivity of 1415 mA/W and a maximum photo-to-dark current ratio of 1.2 × 10 4 , and such an outstanding performance benefits from the virtues of tri-layer PHJ structure including high light absorption, carrier mobility and exciton dissociation efficiency; and (v) the air stability of the tri-layer PHJ ones is better than that of the bilayer PHJ ones with p-type channel, which can be attributed to the passivation of the top-level C 60 layer.

Abstract Rolling bearings and gears are important components of rotating machinery. Their operating condition affects the operation of the equipment. Fault in the accessory directly leads to equipment downtime or a series of adverse reactions in the system, which brings enormous pecuniary loss to the institution. Hence, it is of great significance to detect the operating status of rolling bearings and gears for fault diagnosis. At present, the vibration method is considered to be the most common method for fault diagnosis, a method that analyzes the equipment by collecting vibration signals. However, rotating-machinery fault diagnosis is challenging due to the need to select effective fault feature vectors, use appropriate machine-learning classification methods, and achieve accurate fault diagnosis. To solve this problem, this paper illustrates a new fault-diagnosis method combining successive variational-mode decomposition (SVMD) entropy values and machine learning. First, the simulation signal and the real fault signal are used to analyze and compare the variational-mode decomposition (VMD) and SVMD methods. The comparison results prove that SVMD can be a useful method for fault diagnosis. Then, these two methods are utilized to extract the energy entropy and fuzzy entropy of the gearbox dataset of Southeast University (SEU), respectively. The feature vector and multiple machine-learning classification models are constructed for failure-mode identification. The experimental-analysis results successfully verify the effectiveness of the combined SVMD entropy and machine-learning approach for rotating-machinery fault diagnosis.

Abstract There are great differences in financial and economic development in different regions. In different time series and different regions, the effects of financial depth and width on economic development are also different. This paper selects neural network to establish the economic benefit model of financial depth and breadth, which can deeply explore the relationship between financial data and economic data. In order to determine the optimal convolutional neural network parameters, the optimal convolutional neural network parameters are determined through comparative simulation analysis. The convolutional neural network model based on the optimal parameters is applied to the empirical analysis of the effect of financial and economic development in X region. In order to obtain the optimal convolutional neural network parameters, different convolution layers, convolution core size, and convolution core number are compared and simulated. The convolutional neural network model with optimal parameters is used to simulate the financial and economic data of X region. The simulation results show that the density of financial personnel has a certain impact on economic development, so it is necessary to improve the comprehensive quality of financial personnel and promote regional economic development. Therefore, this paper seeks an effective method to study the effect of financial breadth and depth on economic development which can provide a feasible idea for the in-depth research method of financial and economic development.

Abstract Nowadays, eye fatigue is becoming more common globally. However, there was no objective and effective method for eye fatigue detection except the sample survey questionnaire. An eye fatigue detection method by machine learning based on the Single-Channel Electrooculography-based System is proposed. Subjects are required to finish the industry-standard questionnaires of eye fatigue; the results are used as data labels. Then, we collect their electrooculography signals through a single-channel device. From the electrooculography signals, the five most relevant feature values of eye fatigue are extracted. A machine learning model that uses the five feature values as its input is designed for eye fatigue detection. Experimental results show that there is an objective link between electrooculography and eye fatigue. This method could be used in daily eye fatigue detection and it is promised in the future.

Abstract Abstract Background Drug–target interaction (DTI) prediction plays a crucial role in drug discovery. Although the advanced deep learning has shown promising results in predicting DTIs, it still needs improvements in two aspects: (1) encoding method, in which the existing encoding method, character encoding, overlooks chemical textual information of atoms with multiple characters and chemical functional groups; as well as (2) the architecture of deep model, which should focus on multiple chemical patterns in drug and target representations. Results In this paper, we propose a multi-granularity multi-scaled self-attention (SAN) model by alleviating the above problems. Specifically, in process of encoding, we investigate a segmentation method for drug and protein sequences and then label the segmented groups as the multi-granularity representations. Moreover, in order to enhance the various local patterns in these multi-granularity representations, a multi-scaled SAN is built and exploited to generate deep representations of drugs and targets. Finally, our proposed model predicts DTIs based on the fusion of these deep representations. Our proposed model is evaluated on two benchmark datasets, KIBA and Davis. The experimental results reveal that our proposed model yields better prediction accuracy than strong baseline models. Conclusion Our proposed multi-granularity encoding method and multi-scaled SAN model improve DTI prediction by encoding the chemical textual information of drugs and targets and extracting their various local patterns, respectively.

Abstract To meet the requirements of a high transmission rate and strong communication quality for mobile terminals, a planar antenna printed on a 0.8-mm-thick FR-4 substrate is proposed in this paper. The structures are compact, with a size of <semantics> 23 × 6 mm 2 . </semantics> The performance of a single antenna pair in a <semantics> 75 × 35 mm 2 </semantics> ground plane shows the advantages of both ultra-wide bandwidth and high isolation. The operating frequency of −6 dB is 54% (3.3 GHz–5.9 GHz). To solve the mutual coupling effects exiting in the antenna pair, a hybrid strip defected grounding structure (DGS) is added in the middle of neighboring antenna elements, and good isolation performance of lower than −13 dB is achieved. The evolution and analysis of the proposed antenna pair are given to investigate the operating principle. To verify its practicality, an eight-port antenna system in <semantics> 150 × 70 mm 2 </semantics> ground plane is constructed along two frames of the smartphone board. The MIMO antenna system performance is simulated and texted. The results show a bandwidth of 3.4–5.2 GHz (−6 dB), an isolation performance lower than −10 dB, an ECC lower than 0.01, and a total efficiency of 46–84%. In addition, the performance of the antenna system under single handheld conditions is also discussed. The correlation results show that the designed antenna pair has good data transmission and interference resistance capability, which proves that this is an excellent antenna model for application in mobile terminals.
