Abstract Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) is a group of autoimmune diseases. This study aimed to investigate the clinical significance of changes in interleukin-18 (IL-18) and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in the pathogenesis of AAV and the impact of NLR on the prognosis of patients. The clinical data of 52 AAV patients (AAV group) who met the conditions of hospitalization, 30 patients with mild mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis (disease controls), and 30 healthy volunteers (normal controls) in Nephrology Department of Liuzhou People's Hospital from May 2020 to August 2022 were selected. A total of 52 AAV patients were divided into active phase (>15 points) and remission phase (≤15 points) based on the Birmingham vasculitis activity score (BVAS). Serum IL-18 level was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in three groups. Pearson product moment correlation analysis was performed to investigate the correlation between serum IL-18 levels and clinical laboratory indicators, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was performed on serum IL-18, C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) levels, and NLR in AAV patients. The levels of serum creatinine, parathyroid hormone, β2-microglobulin (β2-MG), ESR, CRP, and IL-18 in active stage of AAV were significantly higher than those in remission stage of AAV. Moreover, the serum IL-18 level of active AAV patients was significantly higher than that of disease control group (

Abstract Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical functional and radiological outcomes of percutaneous repositioning with multi-angle thread needles in older patients with two- or three-part displaced fractures of the proximal humerus.
Methods: About 48 patients treated with multi-angle thread needles for two- or three-part displaced fractures of the proximal humerus were enrolled. The patients were followed up for 12 to 24 months (with an average follow-up of 18 months). Imaging examinations were performed at week 4, week 8, week 12, month 6, and year 1 postoperation. The functional and radiological outcomes, including the fracture healing time, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Association (ASES) score, Constant-Murley score, and visual analog score questionnaire, were followed up and assessed.
Results: The fracture healing time was 14.6 weeks (12-41 weeks). The interval from the end of surgery to the resumption of functional shoulder exercise was 16.2 weeks (14-36 weeks), and all the fractures healed by the last follow-up. The ASES score, the average Constant-Murley score, and the VAS pain score at the 1-year postoperative follow-up were 88.9 ± 9.6, 87.5 ± 8.4, and 0.37 ± 0.29, respectively. In the present group, 24 cases were assessed as excellent healing, 12 cases were good, 7 cases were average, and 5 cases were poor.
Conclusion: The percutaneous multi-angle thread needle was a reliable method for the treatment of two- or three-part displaced fractures of the proximal humerus in older people, especially for those who could not tolerate traumatic surgery.

Abstract Smartphone addiction is a global problem affecting university students. Previous studies have explored smartphone addiction and related factors using latent variables. In contrast, this study examines the role of smartphone addiction and related factors among university students using a cross-sectional and cross-lagged panel network analysis model at the level of manifest variables. A questionnaire method was used to investigate smartphone addiction and related factors twice with nearly six-month intervals among 1564 first-year university students (M = 19.14, SD = 0.66). The study found that procrastination behavior, academic burnout, self-control, fear of missing out, social anxiety, and self-esteem directly influenced smartphone addiction. Additionally, smartphone addiction predicted the level of self-control, academic burnout, social anxiety, and perceived social support among university students. Self-control exhibited the strongest predictive relationship with smartphone addiction. Overall, self-control, self-esteem, perceived social support, and academic burnout were identified as key factors influencing smartphone addiction among university students. Developing prevention and intervention programs that target these core influencing factors would be more cost-effective.

Abstract The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a global initiative that is gaining increasing attention, participation, and communication globally. However, most existing studies on BRI-related communication are based on BRI communication as the background. As an important theory of communication, network agenda-setting (NAS) theory, as an important theory of communication, is used to focus on an increasing number of objects that are rarely studied by international organizations. The United Nations (UN) news website, which is the official website of the largest international governmental organization, is available in nine languages (as of May 7, 2021), including Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, Swahili, and Hindi, providing news reports based on audience research. Thus, this study analyzed the BRI agenda network of UN's nine languages web pages, calculates BRI-related elements and correlation strength, and forms a multidimensional matrix in conjunction with the NAS theory. Finally, based on the summary statistics of the BRI agenda network, the UN news website agenda network was summarized and formed. The correlation strength of nine languages and 26 content pieces was analyzed using statistical principal components and cluster analysis. The result showed that the BRI agenda network of the UN news website had a strong link with the UN's sustainable development goals. Note that the BRI agendas in different languages can influence each other, making sustainability a crucial element for both BRI and the UN. In addition, the NAS theory can work within the same organization. However, there is still room for improvement in BRI's sustainable global discourse communication, such as audience analysis, language-ability building, and diversification of communication bodies and methods.

Abstract The new asset management rules in China bring financial institutions under a unified regulatory framework, aiming to curb regulatory arbitrage, control systemic risk, and improve financial stability. Exploiting the new-rules-induced exogenous shock that disrupts corporate financialization, this study finds that firms with ex ante higher degrees of financialization respond to the regulation by increasing labor costs. Management's financial expertise and ownership concentration are mechanisms through which disruption of financialization affects corporate employment strategies. The impact of the new rules on labor costs is more pronounced for firms with lower bankruptcy risk, located in coastal cities, and experiencing intense industry competition. The findings imply an unintended spillover effect of financial regulation on the labor market in the form of labor cost growth.
