    Abstract Concerns have been raised globally regarding the long-term effects of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This study aimed to investigate the impact of long COVID on the health of patients recovering from acute COVID-19 in China. We conducted a cross-sectional questionnaire survey from 1 February to 9 March 2023. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to understand the differences in health utility values between individuals with and without long COVID. Factors associated with health-related quality of life (HRQoL) were determined using a multiple linear regression model. A chi-square test was used to compare differences between the 2 groups for each dimension of the EuroQoL-5 Dimension-5 Level (EQ-5D-5L) scale. In total, 307 participants were included in the analysis, of which 40.39% exhibited at least 1 persistent symptom. The common symptoms of long COVID were fatigue/weakness, coughing, memory decline, poor concentration, and phlegm in the throat. Most patients with long COVID reported mild effects from their symptoms. After propensity score matching, the long-COVID group had lower health utility scores than the non-long-COVID group (0.94 vs 0.97). In the multivariable linear regression analysis, persistent symptoms and low annual household income were associated with lower health utility values (

    Abstract Accurately detecting falls and providing clear directions for the fall can greatly assist medical staff in promptly developing rescue plans and reducing secondary injuries during transportation to the hospital. In order to facilitate portability and protect people's privacy, this paper presents a novel method for detecting fall direction during motion using the FMCW radar. We analyze the fall direction in motion based on the correlation between different motion states. The range-time (RT) features and Doppler-time (DT) features of the person from the motion state to the fallen state were obtained by using the FMCW radar. We analyzed the different features of the two states and used a two-branch convolutional neural network (CNN) to detect the falling direction of the person. In order to improve the reliability of the model, this paper presents a pattern feature extraction (PFE) algorithm that effectively eliminates noise and outliers in RT maps and DT maps. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper has an identification accuracy of 96.27% for different falling directions, which can accurately identify the falling direction and improve the efficiency of rescue.

    Abstract Phytoplankton are the main primary producers in aquatic ecosystems and play an important role in food web and geochemical cycles. Its diversity, community structure, and assembly process are influenced by several factors. Alpine lake ecosystems are relatively weak and extremely sensitive to global climate change. However, the impact of climate change on phytoplankton in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau lakes and their responses are still unclear. In this study, we analyzed the diversity, environmental drivers, and assembly process of phytoplankton community in the central QTP lakes. The phytoplankton of these lakes can be primarily distinguished into freshwater and brackish types, with significant differences in species diversity and community dissimilarity. Both shared nearly same key environmental factors that significantly affecting phytoplankton such as EC, and brackish lakes were also positively correlative with TN. Stochastic process was predominant in phytoplankton assembly. Additionally, freshwater and brackish lakes were dominated by dispersal limitation and heterogeneous selection respectively. Alpine lakes had significant EC thresholds, and their diversity and assembly processes changed significantly around the thresholds. The present findings have important implications for understanding and predicting the response of lake phytoplankton communities to climate change and for making decisions to protect the ecological resources of alpine lakes.

    Abstract Objective To survey the current status and analyze the influencing mechanism of job burnout in clinicians. Methods We distributed Doctor-patient Relationship Scale, Doctor's Professional Identity Scale and Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) to 550 clinicians in 3 general hospitals in Chongqing, and received 529 valid responses. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the relationship between the variables. Results Gender, age, departments, and working hours per week were all significantly associated with emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and low sense of achievement among the clinicians (P < 0.05). The doctor-patient relationship from the perspective of clinicians had a significant negative correlation with the dimension scores (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and low sense of achievement) of job burnout; professional recognition was negatively correlated with job burnout in all dimensions and positively with the doctor-patient relationship from the clinicians' perspective. Professional recognition was a mediator of doctor-patient relationship and low sense of achievement, which was also verified by the test of complete mediator effect. The indirect effect of professional recognition as a complete intermediary variable was -0.12 on low sense of achievement (RMSEA=0.08, NFI=0.92, CFI=0.94, χ2/df=4.37). Conclusion Professional recognition is a partial intermediary variable between doctor-patient relationship, emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, and is a complete mediator variable between doctor-patient relationship and low sense of achievement among the clinicians. The doctor-patient relationship is the fundamental source of low professional recognition and low sense of achievement.

    Abstract Considering the phylogenetic differences in the taxonomic framework of the Chaetophorales as determined by the use of nuclear molecular markers or chloroplast genes, the current study was the first to use phylotranscriptomic analyses comparing the transcriptomes of 12 Chaetophorales algal species. The results showed that a total of 240,133 gene families and 143 single-copy orthogroups were identified. Based on the single-copy orthogroups, supergene analysis and the coalescent-based approach were adopted to perform phylotranscriptomic analysis of the Chaetophorales. The phylogenetic relationships of most species were consistent with those of phylogenetic analyses based on the chloroplast genome data rather than nuclear molecular markers. The Schizomeriaceae and the Aphanochaetaceae clustered into a well-resolved basal clade in the Chaetophorales by either strategy. Evolutionary analyses of divergence time and substitution rate also revealed that the closest relationships existed between the Schizomeriaceae and Aphanochaetaceae. All species in the Chaetophorales exhibited a large number of expanded and contracted gene families, in particular the common ancestor of the Schizomeriaceae and Aphanochaetaceae. The only terrestrial alga, Fritschiella tuberosa, had the greatest number of expanded gene families, which were associated with increased fatty acid biosynthesis. Phylotranscriptomic and evolutionary analyses all robustly identified the unique taxonomic relationship of Chaetophorales consistent with chloroplast genome data, proving the advantages of high-throughput data in phylogeny.

    Abstract Aging related diseases seriously affect the health of the elderly. Studies on the roles and mechanisms of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in aging related diseases have attracted more and more attention. Besides, a number of relative clinical trials have been carried out in the domestic and overseas. This review summarizes the roles, molecular mechanisms, clinical trials of MSCs and MSCs-derived exosomes in several typical age-related diseases such as osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, chronic obstruc-tive pulmonary disease and tumor. This review may provide some theoretical reference and advices for future studies of MSCs in aging related diseases.
