Abstract This work employed a two-step biorefining process, consisting of a hemicellulose-rich liquor production through ultrasound-assisted cold alkaline extraction (CAE), followed by thermochemical treatment of the resultant solid phase. The post-CAE solid phase's pyrolytic potential was assessed by application of thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Friedman's isoconversional method, and also from hydrogen production. The solid phases remaining after the CAE treatment were more reactive than the untreated raw material. Notably, the alkali concentration employed in the first step was the individual variable most pronounced influence on their activation energy (E

Title translation Artrodilatación: un algoritmo de tratamiento como opción de tratamiento conservador de la capsulitis adhesiva.
Abstract Introduction: the management of adhesive capsulitis (AC) remains a topic of debate among orthopedic surgeons, with a wide variation in the literature. Conservative treatment relies as the first-line option as clinical studies report positive outcomes. However, there is variability in the effectiveness of different treatment modalities.
Material and methods: this study aimed to analyzed functional and clinical outcomes of patients with AC who underwent the arthrodilation protocol, including three ultrasound-guided injections administered on a weekly basis: two corticosteroid injections and one injection of hyaluronic acid combined with corticosteroids. Additionally, patients received a specific rehabilitation therapy. Visual analogue scale (VAS), the university of California-Los Angeles shoulder score (UCLA) and Constant-Murley score were assessed before treatment and after 3-month follow-up period.
Results: 23 patients were included, receiving the same treatment protocol with a mean onset of symptoms of 4.9 ± 1.7 months. Among these patients, there was a clear predominance of females (65.2%). Age distribution ranged from 39 to 74 years (mean = 56) indicating that individuals in their mid-50s were more susceptible to developing this condition. Furthermore, a slight majority (52.2%) exhibited AC in their right shoulder. VAS significantly decreased (-6.09 ± 1.9 [p 0.05]). Similarly, UCLA score (10.9 ± 2.9 to 31.7 ± 2.2) and Constant-Murley score (22.3 ± 6.1 to 62.0 ± 6.2) improved significantly. Pre-to-post treatment evaluation showed improvement in both UCLA (mean = 20.8 ± 2.9 [p 0.05]) and Constant-Murley (mean = 39.7 ± 9 [p 0.05]).
Conclusion: arthrodilation protocol demonstrated promising results, with patients achieving good to excellent outcomes and safely resuming their regular daily activities within a short-term follow-up period. These findings provide support for arthrodilation as a viable conservative management option and contribute valuable insights to the ongoing research aimed at identifying optimal treatment approaches for adhesive capsulitis.

Abstract Introduction: Spinopelvic dissociation is an uncommon injury, but, at the same time, very serious, since it can associate important complications with high morbidity and mortality. Its low frequency means that the experience of the specialists who have to deal with it is often very limited.
Objective: To analyze the treatment indications based in classifications and surgery techniques.
Method: A search for scientific articles from high-impact journals was performed through international databases, such as Pubmed, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Science Direct and OVID.
Conclusions: The management of the injury we are analyzing represents a challenge. The diagnosis is carried out through a meticulous anamnesis and physical examination, supported by imaging tests, where tomography acquires special relevance. The treatment is fundamentally surgical, reserved the conservative option for a few cases. Triangular fixation is nowadays considered the treatment of choice.

Abstract As additive manufacturing (AM) matures, models are beginning to take a more prominent stage in design and process planning for AM. A limitation frequently encountered in AM models is a lack of indication about their precision and accuracy. Often overlooked, information on model uncertainty is required for validation of AM models, qualification of AM-produced parts, and uncertainty management. This paper presents a discussion on the origin and propagation of uncertainty in laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) models. Four sources of uncertainty are identified: modeling assumptions, unknown simulation parameters, numerical approximations, and measurement error in calibration data. Techniques to quantify uncertainty in each source are presented briefly, along with estimation algorithms to diminish prediction uncertainty with the incorporation of online measurements. The methods are illustrated with a case study based on a transient, stochastic thermal model designed for melt pool width predictions. Model uncertainty is quantified for single track experiments and the effect of online estimation in overhanging structures is studied via simulation. The application of these concepts to estimation and control of the L-PBF process is suggested.

Title translation Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood associated with a pathogenic variant of the ATP1A3 gene.
Abstract Introduction: Alternating hemiplegia of childhood (AHC), is a rare disease characterized by episodes of hemi/quadriplegia, dystonic postures, abnormal eye movements, and movement disorders. ATP1A3 gene mu tations are the most frequently associated with AHC.
Objective: To present a clinical case of AHC, where genetic study and the observation of home videos were of great diagnostic utility.
Clinical case: Female patient who at 3 months of age presented with several episodes of dystonic postures, clonic movements of extremities, cephalic version, and lateral gaze deviation lasting several minutes. Epilepsy was diagnosed and levetiracetam was administrated, without improvement. EEG and brain MRI were performed, with normal results. Therefore, epilepsy was ruled out and transient dystonia of infancy was suspected, however, the events became more frequent, longer in duration, and charac teristically subsided during sleep. Family members provided home videos that clarified the events. At 6 months of age, the patient presented with alternating hemiparesis. Dystonia genetic panel showed a pathogenic variant of the ATP1A3 gene, confirming the diagnosis. Flunarizine treatment was ini tiated with a good clinical response at 12 months of follow-up.
Conclusions: The diagnosis of AHC is complex and is frequently confused with epilepsy, so it is important to correctly perform the diffe rential diagnosis, including anamnesis, tests such as EEG, and careful observation of clinical events that, with the current access to audiovisual technology, becomes more accurate. The genetic analysis is a great diagnostic tool that, when performed in time, avoids other unnecessary tests and therapies.
